We usually stay at motels with inside entry to the rooms so this was a different experience for us. The noise level outside was very detracting but the room was very good otherwise. The management was very attentive and the breakfast area and breakfast, though limited, was good and we enjoyed it. We did have problems with our keys twice but the manager fixed it right away with just a walk to the office involved. We stayed at the motel for 4 nights and used it as a hub for our daily activities in the mountains. We really enjoyed our stay after getting use to the noisy parking lot.

We stayed in Cherokee to enjoy the Great Smokey Mountains National Park before heading to Gatlinburg. This is an excellent stop for close proximity to Cherokee. Food and shopping options are close by, along with easy access to the park and nature attractions. The hotel does not have many amenities itself, but the rooms are very comfortable and the hotel is practical. The breakfast had a lot of good options. We would definitely stay at this hotel again for a visit in the Cherokee area.
Only if you are desperate for a room! We needed to stay near Bryson and couldn't get a room for a one night stay which was on a Friday. Paid $150.00 for a dumpy room. Only because we were desperate. Never again! If I get that desperate I will sleep in car. Never stayed at a Rodeway...never will again. From the outside...not a bad looking property. Inside...bedding was old and stained as well as the sheets. Bathroom was dirty and no soaps, 2 bathtowels and 1 washcloth. Asked for a wake up call because alarm clock in room didn't work and never got one. Luckily I set cellphone alarm. No elevator..we were placed on 2nd floor. Supply and demand...we needed a room and should be grateful we got one. In all honesty....never again. (This was a last minute need or I wouldn't of been in that predicament). I am honest with my review to help other people.
The front desk and housekeeping were the worst I have ever experienced in all of my travels. We had called the hotel 2 times the day of our arrival to let them know that we would be a late night arrival and not to let our room go. When we arrived the front desk clerk that checked us in, was rude and not friendly at all. Evidently, he was to give us a placard to place on the door to let housekeeping know we wanted our room cleaned. (First for us to have this type of request of a guest.) He did not. After returning from our outing the second night it was a surprise not to have our room cleaned and fresh towels. Okay, maybe we were overlooked the first time. I went to front desk. Same person who us in was there. He assured me that he would tell housekeeping and gave me fresh towels. He had that opportunity to give us the placard for housekeeping. He did not. Then again, third night returning from an outing, room was not cleaned again. Not happy. Went to the front desk again, taking all the dirty towels for exchange of clean. After explaining again that our room had not been serviced again, OR since arriving, I am told that the other clerk should have given us a placard for cleaning room. I asked for a discount on our room for the poor service. I was told she would put a note in and the manager would have to take care of that. Next morning at check out the manager says she cannot give a discount because we prepaid. You would think that if we prepaid we would have gotten a better room and better treatment. Nope not the case. I chose this hotel because of the cleanliness rating. In addition their breakfast was subpar as well. Same thing served everyday; flat round precooked eggs, sausage, waffles.
Disappointing breakfast with just apples, bagels, cereal and yogurt. No bread, no eggs, no sausage and no microwave. Staff isn’t friendly and lacks any customer service skills. The lobby is beautiful and the rooms spacious, clean and well maintained. DESPITE reserving a handicap room, I found the “handicap room” wasn’t wheelchair friendly. I give the hotel a C- as “handicap friendly”. The bathroom so small I couldn’t close the door with my wheelchair in the bathroom (with the footrests removed) and I couldn’t get to the shower because the door was in the way, I had to walk into the bathroom (a struggle for me) then close the door to get into the shower. The shower is dangerous without any hand/ safety rails. I did get a walk in shower and they did provide a shower chair but the only shelf in the shower was on the back of the shower and not reachable when using the shower chair. This is a DANGEROUS shower which requires using the glass shower door handle to move in/out or stand while bathing. It’s a million dollar accident waiting to happen. Two more issues with simple solutions: the toilet is an old “squat” toilet (probably 14 in bowl height) making use and transferring to and from the toilet difficult (no grab bar). New toilets are 17 1/2 and 18 inches making the wheelchair chair to toilet easier and safer. Finally, the carpet in the room is beautiful and thick BUT it was hard to move around in the room with the wheelchair. Many hotels now have “hard surface” floors making it much easier to move around and safer for those using walkers or canes. PLUS hotel carpets are known to hold bacteria with the hard surface easier to clean. Pitiful internet which goes every hour or so and the TV didn’t work well despite the desk clerk trying to fix it.. about every 15 minutes the tv would go offline requiring a wait and restart (see pictures).
I’ve never wanted to stay at a super 8 bc I’ve always heard such bad experiences but surprisingly my experience wasn’t at all bad this was a pretty decent hotel & the carpet in our room felt like the cleanest carpet I’ve felt even better then the higher end hotels. The guy up a the front desk was informative & nice. Great room considering the price!
Room was super clean. Sheets were very nice. I am sort of a ”Linen snob” so I was very happy with the linens. Room was very accommodating. No refrigerator, which would have been nice for the price of the room. Took a shuttle to the casino, so that saved on time, parking and traffic after a concert. The driver was very nice and helpful. On the down side...the Shuttle van was a very high end Mercedes, but the stinch of mildew was so pungent it burned my eyes and throat. The floor had a non working ice machine and only the 1st floor ice machine worked. Laundry on the floor, same thing ”Out of order” signs. Breakfast is deceiving this is continental at best. Only thing hot was a make it yourself waffle and biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were frozen on the inside, so dont book if you think your getting a good free breakfast. Overall, I would stay again just because of the room cleanliness and comfy bed. Other than that..probably not.

GGuest Userhaving to relocate to cherokee at the spur of the moment for employment Great Smokies Inn made my relocating painless making me feel right at home for a month till i found housing. The rooms were spacius comfortable and clean and the staff was friendly, pleasant, helpful and welcomed me to their community with out hesitation. Especially Jess, she was always willing to go the extra mile, although I am unsure of her current position. Her customer service, pride and dedication in her work makes he upper management material. And if she is not in management then she needs to be. To say the least she is one of the few hospitalitarians we still have left today in our industry.

My husband and I had a great stay at this Fairfield. It is a pretty good Fairfield if you are familiar with the brand. We were staying as part of a longer road trip and visit to Great Smoky Mountains NP. The hotel was super clean, and the workers were friendly. It is very close to the park, and it is close to the ****** with entertainment and restaurants.
