I would recommend this location again and again! The hotel is quiet and the rooms were clean and well furnished. Breakfast tasted good, contained healthy choices, and a variety of selections. Now to the hospitality, our stay was due to bereavement, but I tell you this, Mr. K.D. ensured we had a smile every interaction! He provided top tier customer service - even as we checked in at 2am after a long day of travel! Thank you to the entire staff!

The facilities in the store are quite complete, but there are no toothbrushes, toothpaste and slippers in the hotel in the United States. There is breakfast in the store, which is not bad. It is not to change bedding when cleaning the hygiene.
I am a recent amputee. Upon losing my leg, I lost my home due to insurance regulations. I checked into the ESA -- Auburn Hills. Paul and his staff havebeen wonderful to me ever since my arrival. They have taken out trash and moved things that needed to be moved. They fulfill my every request. When I first got here, there was a lot of noise and dogs. But now, the carpets hav been cleaned and are freshened daily. EVERYTHING is sanitized regularly. If I were to have a complaint, it would be that the internet is HORRIBLE!!!! That is not the fault of the staff, but of ESA Corporate. I could write a letter, put it in an envelope and mail it and have it get to the recipient faster than the internet at this hotel. This place is entirely too expensive for crappy internet. Even if you pay the additional fee $31/month, it is very VERY slow if it comes on at all. I have spoken with corporate, who says it is a third party vendor and they are working on the issue. Again, I have been here since August. How long could it possibly take to figure out why I have no internet when the room next door has FULL signal. I like this hotel and I like the people that work here. I hate the internet and I think it is a shame for THAT to be the reason I am disatisfied with my greater than four month stay here......
The hotel was very clean and staff was terrific. The room was spacious and well laid out. Very comfortable beds and the kitchens were an added plus to get coffee and breakfast on your own time. Location is very close to all shopping but far enough away to be very quiet. We will be back.
I stayed here in September and December 2021 due to power outages at my home. These were my first two stays at this property since it had changed over from a Hawthorn Suites to MainStay Suites. The staff were very friendly and helpful--especially Serena at the front desk! She was very helpful, professional and fun to talk to. The rooms are still identical to how they looked when the property was a Hawthorn Suites, which really is not an issue because everything is still in pretty good shape and the beds are comfortable. Just a reminder for housekeeping to follow through with cleaning everything, as there were still leftover crumbs in the kitchen. Other than that, the room was clean and spacious. My room--329--was pretty quiet despite being close to the elevator. Since it is a corner room, I had no one next to me which was nice. My other room for the SEP 2021 stay was 317, and it was also very nice. Although I am a bit bummed it is no longer a Hawthorn Suites and does not offer the same amenities, it is still a reliable and comfortable place to stay in Auburn Hills, and I know I will return someday.
If you’re looking for a quiet or dark room, probably look elsewhere. The doors don’t seal around the frame so there is a ton of light that comes in and you can hear everything from the hall (and conversations from other rooms). I really don’t think that the wall my headboard is on should shake so much when someone else closes the door, but be ready to wake up if someone else nearby leaves their room early. The hotel is close to a busy road and they clearly built it with the wrong windows. They are too thin and able to open for some reason, so the seal is likely worn. The result is traffic noise all night. Perhaps it isn’t as bad on the other side of the hotel so try asking for an even numbered room. They also need to update their window coverings to keep the drapes closed and actually block the light. On the good side, the staff is extremely friendly and the breakfast is fine, your standard free hotel breakfast. The cleanliness is okay as I found little rubber bands on the floor (and in the bed) of my room that caused me to question how well it was vacuumed. In the end, this is a mid-level hotel that needs some upgrades to some of the key sleeping amenities.

FFrancesjuly2020I received a call from Staybridge Suites @ Auburn Hills, MI at 6am today and was told our reserved room we are supposed to check in today is not available due to maintenance issues. Panicking with disbelief, I searched for different hotels and called Marriott Towne Place Suites at Auburn Hills. Andy has taken care of our room needs for a 6 night stay with professionalism, courtesy and empathy. He clearly cares about the needs of hotel guests and assures me that we do not have to worry. Such a relief on the way to the airport with Andy’s superb customer service.
The room was decent; the bed was on the worn-out side. However, there were some very annoying issues at this hotel: 1. The clock was not adjusted for DST by mid-December. I woke up with a start, thinking I was an hour late, until I saw my phone. Basic maintenance! 2. The website says they are doing a renovation. I found only upon arrival that there was not a regular breakfast - only a cold breakfast in a box. This should be clear on the website, not announced on arrival. There is a McD next door. 3. They add a ”mall surcharge.” This is not disclosed on the Hilton reservation site, but the amount is included in ”taxes.” The hotel keeps a surcharge, and this is NOT a tax. This was about $4, but it is not transparent or honest. 4. The TV goes to Fox News each time it is powered on, no matter what I watch when turning it off. Other than annoying, automatically going to any politically charged channel is inappropriate - someone's agenda? Not a bad hotel, but it seems management is not customer-oriented. Plenty of other options for next time!
GGuest UserThere were 3 police cars in front when we pulled up. The desk clerk could barely speak English. The carpet on the staircase was grossly dirty. One key wouldn’t work and we gave up after 2 trips to the front desk. The bathroom sink was cracked. The bathtub was so nasty that we showered at the relatives we were visiting. A tattered list of stations was the only “TV guide.” Internet was so slow I gave up using it after 6 “timed out” messages. Chipped up doors, dirty corners and along walls. Lamp shades broken, mismatched lightbulbs, fighting in parking lot...
Most disgusting place we’ve stayed in the past decade!

GGuest UserWater pressure good hot water..room ok after I lysoled and air freshner in room sprayed hall musty smell..no room service while there not even cllean towels had to ask. Sack breakfast not what was advertised take what you get a muffin, apple, granola bar and water. Very sad will not stay again!
JJanetThis place was old but the rooms have been upgraded. Our room was mostly clean with just some corners missed. The updates were basic but nice. We do appreciate the hard floor in place of carpeting. The bed was very comfortable. We especially appreciated the desk, microwave and refrigerator and the many outlets around the room. There was one weird piece of that though. None of the desk power worked unless the overhead light was on. My husband does desk work before i get up and this added many hurdles for him.
The staff was very friendly. We had some extra time so stopped to see if we could check in early but they apologized that they couldn't accommodate us because the rooms were not ready. I would much rather wait than have a room that cleaning was rushed to get us in.
This hotel enforces a quiet time which again is wonderful for us.. We play music for a living and we fully appreciate a discounted but quiet room stay.
The drive to the hotel is a little difficult to follow the first time because the road comes in the back way. It feels a little unsafe BUT we had no issues at all. We will be back.
