We booked a room at this hotel for one night stay with friends. It was the evening of a football game in the area, and there was also a large group or team visiting at the same time, so the hotel was very busy with lots of kids running up and down the halls and a large group having a party in the lobby all night. Upon arriving into our room, we noticed that the door was open which was concerning. When we closed the door behind us we found that it did not latch closed and could be pushed open. We called down to the hotel reception and were given instructions on how to fix the issue. Unfortunately, this did not help. We called down once again and they sent a staff member up to try to help, and the staff member was frustrated by this issue. We were running low on time so we decided to take our valuables with us while they fixed the door since we were not comfortable sleeping in a room with a door that does not lock closed. We also asked to switch rooms and were told that there were no comparable rooms however they were finally able to place us in an upgraded room but it was not the right size for the amount of beds that we needed. The staff did what they could to help, however they were not friendly about it and seemed annoyed that we were asking for a door that locked. We even asked to be placed in a sister location but were told there were none. Overall, it was too many issues for such a short stay and I would not choose to stay at that location again.
Homewood Suites by Hilton Buffalo-Amherst is conveniently located on Millersport Highway near Interstates 290 and 90 (New York State Thruway). This five-floor hotel is just one mile from Buffalo Niagara International Airport and a few miles from University of Buffalo. Complimentary breakfast available with good quality fare but with limited selection. No on-site restaurant. Several dining establishments are near the hotel but not within walking distance. Boulevard Mall and Galleria Mall are located a few miles from the hotel. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Main lobby and corridors had dry mud on the floors at the time of my stay. Hallway floors also had several discarded beverage creamer containers laying about. Guest suite kitchen featured crumbs and food debris on the cabinetry floors including one discarded green Jolly Rancher hard candy at the time of my stay. Several dishes and utensils were present in the dishwasher were dirty from prior use. With the exception of oven, full kitchen available in guest suites. Limited amenities available in the guest suite kitchen (no kitchen sponge, dishwashing soap). The guest suite window curtains featured several dark, brown stains. Guest room bedroom included a spider web located on the ceiling above the television and the bedroom pillows smelled of canine odor. A shriveled contact lens was present on the guest bathroom sink counter. The guest bathroom tub was quick to fill as the drain was notably slow. Overall, the guest room was comfortable but furnishings were worn and dated. Guest bathroom sink and vanity are located in bedroom suite, separate from shower stall and toilet. Fitness center located in the center of the complex is clean and has basic yet modern equipment. Indoor swimming pool available but did not use at the time of my stay. Courtyard ”Sport Court” has a half-court basketball area. Ample parking available. Traffic noise from busy Millersport Highway and exit ramps from Interstate 290 is prevalent on sides proximal to the respective roads. Overall okay experience however I would consider another hotel when visiting the Buffalo Amherst area in the future.

I take writing feedback seriously and have written hundreds of reviews; I hope my review is helpful. I am a travel warrior and stayed at dozens of Marriott’s last year over 250 nights. This Marriott was a massive disappointment at every turn with a few bright spots. Dated: If you want to relive the 1970s, this is your hotel. The rooms have comfortable beds, but after that, the issues multiply: Shower: One setting for the shower head, just like grandma’s house. Shower: Slippery. I requested a shower mat 3 times and was told all 3 times they were looking for 1. Nobody ever followed up to say “sorry, we don’t have one.” I stayed 5 nights. Horrible. WiFi: horrible. Absolutely the worst WiFi I have had in over 10 years. We had 2 rooms between my wife and kids and we were all constantly kicked off the WiFi. Concierge Lounge: A joke. I came late for breakfast but still within the posted time. I found a very unappetizing dish of scrambled eggs that looked old. I asked for more eggs and was told “No… when it’s gone, it’s gone. I get an allotment and that’s it.” I suggest they update the sign to “when it’s gone, it’s gone.” Ridiculous. Broken coffee maker in the room: I discovered my coffee maker was broken. I enjoy drinking my first cup in my room while waking up. I asked for another. They brought another. The next morning I discovered it, too was broken. What? Ridiculous. Breakfast was good and the staff was friendly on first floor. The French Onion soup at their restaurant was delicious. Cody was professional and polite and tried his best to make up for a horrible property. I will never stay at this property again.
We stayed at the Hyatt Place Buffalo/Amherst for one night while we attended a wedding across the street. The hotel was lovely and clean with a beautiful and welcoming firepit, plenty of convenient parking, a nice workstation area, and very large rooms with super comfortable beds! The staff was friendly, the halls and surrounding areas were nice and quiet, and we greatly enjoyed our stay.
I recently stayed at Reikart House and, although I was a little disappointed not to receive a suite upgrade as a Platinum member, I was still very happy with my stay. The hotel's ambience is exceptional, and it is impeccably clean and well-maintained. You can tell that a lot of care goes into keeping the property in top shape. The staff were polite and courteous throughout my stay, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Special shout out to the front desk team—Tina, Marty Mis, Tyler, and the lady working the night shift (sorry I didn’t catch your name!). Also, a special acknowledgment to Fabio, who ensures the hotel remains in pristine condition by touching up any scrapes and marks from luggage all across the hotel. What a wonderful person he is and glad to have met him! I also dined at Jazzboline, the nearby restaurant, and the service was impeccable. The meals are quite filling, so you better love butter! This is truly a unique property for Marriott, and I’m glad they’ve added this brand to their portfolio. I will certainly be returning to Reikart House with my family. It’s a great place, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
Stayed here while in town for an appointment. Had previously stayed at a competitor property next door with a horrible stay. We were very pleased to find that the experience didn't carry over for the area. While there were a few items that could have been better (more on that below), we were happy with our stay. All of the staff that we interacted with were extremely welcoming and helpful. A few items that could have been better that we noted was the transition from the hard floor to the carpet in the room needed some attention. The carpet could be replaced as it is worn at the transition area which is expected over time. Otherwise the room was clean as were all areas of the hotel that we accessed. The little store area was unique and well stocked with a variety of options and seemed to have far better pricing that what one would expect at a hotel. If back in the Buffalo Amherst area, we would stay here again as it is far better than some others near by!
Excellent property with great location and friendly staff. Rooms are very good and complementary breakfast was nice. Location is just outside the University. Ideally located to travel from Buffalo to Niagara. Gas station and convenient stores in walking distance.

Saints Peter & Paul Church
GGLS***39Lovely architecture of Saints Peter and Paul Church. With parking right outside of the church and the park across the street. This is a really awesome church that people would just want to come in to check it out as if it was a museum. I myself did it. It is just that pretty to look at. Did I mention, this place would be awesome to do a wedding because the picture would turn out so nice with the decor inside the church. I am glad that I'm Catholic. Cheers!
