The hotel is very big and there are quite a lot of people staying during our Thanksgiving holiday. The room is big enough and the basic facilities are new enough, but there is a thin layer of scale on all kinds of glass, which may be related to the water quality.
During the covid period, the hotel’s breakfast is to send out a packing box and go for breakfast like a canteen. There are various types of doughnuts, cakes and fruits for cold food, and oatmeal scrambled eggs, sausages and fries for hot food.
There are almost no free parking spaces in the hotel. There is a garage across the street for 7 yuan a day. There are many (more than ten) street parking spaces at the door. It is free all day on weekends and evenings on weekdays.

Definitely pick somewhere else to stay. This hotel actually CHARGES you to park there. I have never heard of hotels doing this unless you are downtown in a major city or parking in a parking garage. Not only that, the rooms are super outdated. Plus, our TV doesn’t work, and they only gave us one coffee pod for our Keurig. Oh and there is no free breakfast. Plus side is that the staff is nice and there is a bar. But all the little things you get charged for and/or don’t have will cause me to never stay here again.

My family and I stayed here twice in the past week. once by chance, stopping very late at night after the end of a long travel day. The night time desk clerk was friendly, and the room was spacious, clean, and very comfprtable. The next morning we at their very good breakfast buffet, and our four year old had some time to use the beautiful indoor pool. Though exhausted we were delighted by our stay and mad certain to stop back there again on the return trip. It did not disappoint. Once again the room was comfortable and very clean, and even though we arrived very near the end of the breakfast buffet, they were very friendly and did not hesitate to bring out new, fresh items, and replenish the waffle batter (have to take advantage of that waffle iron for the fresh waffle). My wife had a very nice conversation with the food service manager who was incredibly friendly. Every person I encountered there in both stays was friendly and helpful. Any time future travel or business brings me or the family to Amarillo I will certainly stay here again.

GGuest UserI was traveling through Amarillo on my way home. I had my dog with me. I had stayed at another hotel in town that charged me $75 pet cleaning charge. Decided on Holiday Inn Express. Good Decision!!
GGuest UserWe had an early morning flight and opted to stay here because of past good experiences. Very clean, friendly staff and very close to the hospital and medical facilities. Early morning the drive across town to the airport was easy, 15 minutes.
DDuane MI was able to get the floor and location I requested. Staff was helpful and friendly. The room was very nice and comfortable. I especially appreciate Taylor for all her help. She was attentive and nice. She is a true professional, what I really appreciate most about Taylor, is that she never grew tired of the request. Awesome place and people!!!.
GGuest UserThe hotel and service was everything you would expect from a Marriott property. Staff was super friendly and attentive to any needs. Hotel is modern, clean, and up to date for a location that was built in 1927. Surprising good night life and several restaurants that are within walking distance of the hotel. Several right across the street. A very quiet pleasant stay. Didn't hear people coming or going from their rooms at all hours of the nights. I had a room that was next to the elevator and never heard it once and this was on a busy weekend. The only downfall with the property was a lack of pool/spa. So this may or may not be a deal breaker if you are trying to entertain kids.
JjenwhiteMy Hisband and I had a great one night stay. The man that checked us in by the name of Danny was so awesome and very sweet man very friendly and very helpful. Because of him and the clean rooms we will definitely be back when we go threw again. Thank you for a wonderful safe place to stay..
GGuest UserDue to severe weather in Dallas and Denver, our plane--plus countless others--was stranded in Amarillo at 3:00am. (Arrival in Colorado Springs was supposed to have been at 6:00pm the day before!) We finally found a hotel with an available room--which happened to be this Hampton Inn--and arrived around 9:00am. The front desk was apologetic and said the room would probably not be ready until noon or later, but we could make ourselves at home in the lobby/breakfast area. We got comfortable and immediately feel asleep; however, the head of housekeeping woke us up 30 minutes later to tell us they had our room ready!! We cannot say enough good things about the way we were treated!! Should we ever find ourselves in this area, we will definitely stay here again!
We loved our stay. They have remodeled and done a lot of updating inside and outside. This is a local family owed hotel. They also have great employees they were great and helpful. We will be back and we recommend to anyone staying in Amarillo.we have family in Amarillo so we stayed at a lot of different places and this was our favorite.
We entered our first room and the bed wasn’t even made. Then we had to search 10 different rooms until we finally found a room that wasn’t smelly. The bathroom door didn’t even close for the first room, and the lock for our other room wasn’t working. The shower was also disappointing. The wall were cracked and the bed sheets had stains on them. We talked to one of the workers (I believe it was manager) the next morning, but all they said was we should’ve searched for more rooms, which is completely unacceptable as it was already around midnight when we reached. Definitely do not recommend this place.
