Excellent hotel, very kind and helpful staff, excellent breakfast (eggs freshly made, not the usual reheated hotel scrambled mess), and a very nice room. Obviously, view and size of the room depend on the category booked. We wanted to have a nice weekend trip at the Mediterranean - hence, have chosen room with sea view - worth every additional Euro - so nice - even a perfect view from the bathroom! I was a bit skeptical on the short-notice choice of Koper - there is not really much to do. But he combination of Koper Grand, Folpo food truck, Loggia cafe & wine bar and Savor restaurant for dinner was just perfect.

We were visiting the Slovenian Coast for 5 Nights as a couple with a dog. We opted for a hotel in a more quiet location compared with portoroz - Izola etc.... What a great choice! Firstly, the hotel is beautiful renovated and looks like a new place. All is well and feels new - from the Restaurant, Lobby and the Rooms! (and awesome Salt chambers..) We chose a double room with balcony, which in those hot days were great for the early mornings or later evenings! (plus a big help in drying beach towels and clothes!) The room was nice, safe and mini bar fridge all available. Good shower - and for outdoor 38 degrees heat a perfectly working Air Con!! That's a real bonus! The Food (Breakfast was an enough wide selection) and the Dinner (mixed à la carte & sushi) must be stated was amazingly nice cooked, real top quality chef! if you like to dine out or eat in the evenings out just a 10-minute walk is the Ancaran Townsquare with a handful of nice Bars, Italian, Local Speciality Restaurant and so on. ＞All one needs! But the best ist still straight down from the hotel, the small bar on the beach! - So! - most over all I like to mention the feeling being a few days away from home in this place made us really relaxed and the best of the hotel is the people who work there!! - from the welcome reception team to the bar & restaurant staff and the housekeepers - all were at every time friendly and engaged! Overall, the Owner or Manager of this Hotel should be happy to have exactly this team working there now! They are awesome people with a good sense of hospitality! I would try to keep them! From the hotel you can walk in 3-5 minutes to a nice calm, quiet beach with another nice Restaurant and Bar (directly overlooking the Bay of Ancaran, Koper and so on) which was a lovely scenery!). The water was crystal clean and perfect temperature, and each time coming back to the hotel felt simply nice. Having travelled over 100s of times and stayed in 2-5 star hotels all over - this is definitely a place to go back. You just have to know what you are looking for and what kind of entertainment one wants. If you choose wisely, and you look for a bit more quiet place and not overloaded with people - and good drinks, food etc... than this is your destination! Thank you Team Ortus for the great stay. A truly beautiful place. I couldn't use the beach because I came in April and it wasn't open yet. Not bad because I used the indoor swimming pool with heated sea water which also has a corner with some relaxing hydromassage. I also took advantage of the bicycle rental service that the hotel offers as the area is well organized with cycle paths. I recommend doing the Parenzana which goes to Portorose. Very nice. The rooms are very clean and soundproof. Pet free. The restaurant is very good and the food varies every evening. Breakfast of all kinds, both sweet and savory and plentiful. Very friendly and helpful staff. A very positive experience. You can reach the center of Izola on foot in 15 minutes along the seafront.

The accomodation structure is part of a very nice organized and also huge resort. Rooms are very spacious and well equipped. Nice bathroom and comfortable balcony. Staff is quite polite and helpful, including the staff on the beach. An added bonus for the cleaning staff In the ”all inclusive” regime you benefit from rich meals and free drinks, the last accessible in different locations of the resort. Water slide near the beach and mini-golf playground are a source of joy for kids and not only. Like weaknesses - the beach should have some sand and jellyfish should be handled properly, meat dishes are cooked as in a canteen, the minibar should contain free products in ”all inclusive” regime, the parking in front of the hotel is occupied by staff. Izola and Koper are quite beautiful. All in all, the resort is beyond expectations and certainly a very good choice for spending a vacation at seaside. Thank You, San Simon Resort!
