We stayed at the Esplanade Apartments for two nights (2 adults, 2 kids). We found everything to be excellent. Room was very clean, service was fantastic- staff were very friendly and helpful, view from our window was spectacular, it was conveniently located above a pub and across the road from an incredible park for the kids. Couldn’t fault it at all. Thanks for our wonderful stay- we were sad to leave but will be back again!
Note that the room type is not a villa. Each house is an independent entry and exit of the two houses upstairs. If the room for you is upstairs, there is a terrace. If it is assigned downstairs, there is a lawn without a balcony. . The view of the yacht in our three-bedroom and one-bedroom balcony is the biggest highlight. There are two rooms in the three rooms and the living room facing the harbor. One room is facing the community. Everything in the room is good. The shower is very hot and the water is hot. This is good, the kitchen is big enough for you to cook and eat. It feels that each house has a different owner, and it is given to the management company for unified renting. The curtains in the bedroom are curtain-type, and there are gaps between the two. In the evening, the light is shining through the outside. At 6 o'clock in the morning, it starts to see through the sun. If it is not a good sleep, it should be difficult to sleep more than eight. There is nothing to play in the community, there is no place for a walk. The service is basically called no, except to get a key. Also please note that this two points will never let you stay in advance! There are two big supermarkets not far from driving, but there is not much to watch and play in the whole town.
We were met by the host who was lovely and welcoming. The rooms were larger than expected and had everything we needed. The motel is an easy walk into town. We even had a small private deck that caught the afternoon sun. The heater warmed up the unit quickly, plus we were off the road front so found the unit nice and quiet. Ample parking. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed for 4 nights, Friendly staff and good family room with lots of amenities. great to have NetFlix for the kids to watch at night. Daniel made some excellent recommendations for supper we particularly enjoyed the coffee and curry place. We would definitely stay there again when we are heading back up as across the road to the beach and short walk to shops and restaurants. The only down point was no air con and with the heat at 29 the fans didn't cool the room down enough.

This place is a gem. We could have stayed days if we were able to. Fresh, loved, clean and amazing sea views. If you choose this place for a stay try for a ground floor unit and you will have chosen wisely. Walk to main centre and seafront. Good value for money. Very comfy and friendly staff.
We stayed at Baileys the nights of February 27 and 28, 2023, in an upstairs unit. Positives - -Large unit with a comfortable bed -Nice shower with good water pressure -Great view from the unit and patio of the ocean -Very clean Negatives -The owner’s unit on the lower level unfortunately was damaged in the cyclone on February 12. They are having extensive remodeling done as a result and our unit was quite noisy with hammering and drilling etc. This started about 8:00 am and lasted all day both days. We were not forewarned of this despite having emailed the motel prior to our visit for a status due to the cyclone. -Wi-Fi is slow, at best had two bars. -The motel is at a busy corner with lots of truck traffic during the day - it’s noisy when the patio door is open. It quiets down at night.
My wife and I stayed for 1 night (Wish we would have stayed longer) and throughly enjoyed our accommodations and getting to know Warren. Everything you could need was provided in the unit. We regret the property is for sale but know retirement is a Great thing and wish Warren and Robyn the best. Mam and Albert
Oceans Resort Whitianga was perfect for a relaxing three-night stay. The apartment, complete with washer/dryer and fully-equipped kitchen, was a welcome change from formal hotels. It was great to be able to casually plan our own meals, and a small grocery store was conveniently located just around the corner. A scenic cruise of Mercury Bay and the Marine Reserve was on our to-do list, and the boat docks were only a short walk down the beach. The Resort Manager and housekeeping staff were incredible. After our first night, there was a problem with the TV in the living room. When the Resort Manager came the next day to assist, she found a potential electrical issue and insisted that we move to a different apartment. After looking at several unoccupied units, we just moved to a similar one right next door. They are independently owned condos, so are naturally all different. Our new apartment was much nicer with better furnishings, tasteful color selections and decor, etc. We certainly appreciated being able to change from Apartment 6 to Apartment 7.

茅茅A homestay run by the owner Maria, her husband and her husband.
The room is big and clean!
When booking, it is said that breakfast is not included, but it is actually very simple, eggs, bread, milk, and fruit for breakfast.
We left the store on Christmas Day. The host was very hospitable and worried that many stores were not open on Christmas Day. He specially took care of us if we didn't eat anything, we could meet at any time. He also gave us water, biscuits, and cheese for us to eat on the road.
There were also 5 guests from California in the United States and England in Europe.
Also, when making a reservation, please tell the truth about the number of guests (including children). The host arranges the room according to the number of people.
BBigRedAl99It’s past peak tourist time and the annual game fishing comp had just concluded, so we figured it wouldn’t be too difficult to find a place to stay. After a cruise around town we decided on Blue Marlin and rang Viv, who had one room left. It’s in a magical location, right across the road from Mercury Bay and close enough to the bars and restaurants, without being noisy. It was great to have space to spread out, sort our washing and cook our own meals. Getting a bit tired of eating out, so a well-equipped kitchen was great. The bed was large and comfortable, and the room very quiet. Viv was delightful, and very happy to help out with advice on things to do and go around town.
Nice location, off the beach. Nice layout of the accommodation and conference facilities. Family running the Lodge were lovely, I think they are fairly new to this accommodation. The beds in the rooms had no consistency - I had a conversation at breakfast with a conference colleague (we were both bemoaning the beds). I thought she must have had the same very soft bed as me, but it turned out hers was hard as rock whereas mine was soft as clay. Catering was interesting to say the least. The continental breakfast option was good and wide selection available. The cooked option was a little 'odd' - no selection - everyone got the same on every plate - a fried egg on top of a hash brown, next to a few beans, one rasher bacon alongside a side salad with a soy sauce drizzle. No mushrooms, choice of how your egg done, no sausage etc. A bit odd. Conference delegates not staying at the accommodation had a bit of a weird time accessing a loo - because those of us staying on site had our own loos in their room. The other thing that was really odd - the TV had a notice saying do not change channels, $50 fee if you change the channels which I took a photo of - but there were only 3 channels working in my room! Would I stay here again - I think the rooms were 'on par' with any rooms available in the area, and the young couple who run the place were really nice, but on balance I think I would try somewhere else.
GGuest UserCouldn’t be more grateful for the owners of this place! Due to an unfortunate tyre blow out myself and partner were unable to get to our location for the night. We were looking for somewhere close to the tyre place as our spare was also flat but it was past 7pm in the evening so repairs could only happen the next day. We phoned the out of ours number at the reception of this campsite and were so grateful that it was answered and we were able to get a powered site at such short notice! The facilities here were clean, kitchen lovely to cook in and the actual site itself was well looked after. A shame we were only passing through and couldn’t stay longer but felt very safe and looked after due to the kindness of the owners. Couldn’t recommend anywhere better to stay in this area!
