Beautiful location overlooking the Marlborough Sounds, grassed area in front down to the sea. Short walk to beach and 10 minutes walk to marina where there is a very good pub with great food.
Very peaceful and lovely outside space to enjoy view and peace - very relaxing.
Lovely apartment, very modern and clean and well equipped. Quality towels and linen.
Too far from Picton Town to walk but only 10 minutes drive to the ferry.
Im in a motor home with a boat. The facilities here were simply outstanding and very close to a great launch ramp. Drive in and drive out …. no backing. Boat wash and fish cleaning area. Outstanding ”awake” owners who are there to make your stay as good as it can be. Very friendly atmosphere. I will be back !
We had a Studio apartment with ensuite and own cooking facilities. It was clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful. There was no microwave in the room which was very small with a table and 2 chairs outside on the balcony. We were close to the office and disturbed by guests arriving past 10pm and talking loudly. I was able to use the microwave in the shared kitchen. We did not think it was good value for the money when compared to other places we stayed at. However we were well located to catch the early morning ferry across to Wellington which was a priority. Next time I wd stay a little further out and catch a later ferry. We got much better value accommodation in Wellington.

Two days in Sokcho, living in Ramada feels very convenient. There is a sashimi street at the door. The fish in the market is eaten immediately. It is very enjoyable to eat sashimi. The hotel is by the sea and the scenery is very good. You can walk to the lighthouse when you come out downstairs. It is very close to the filming location of ”Boyfriend”, where the male protagonist sits and reads under the lighthouse. Shocho is a good place. Seafood is much cheaper in Seoul. The scenery is also very good. Next time you come to Sokcho, you will choose Ramada.
The hotel itself is a bit dated but well maintained and clean. The service was good and breakfast was substantial. Pool seemed unused for years with black spots of algae but we were not really into swimming so its ok. The room size were nice and big but sound proof is not too good. We can hear the kids playing from the other room. Beds were good and comfy. Smells clean and soft. Location is good. Walking distance to everything you need.
We just loved it here! it was without question the best accomodation we had whilst in NZ. We were offed a complementary glass of wine nibbles on arrival. The room was so tastefully decorated and massive joined by a very generous bathroom with freestanding bathtub & shower. Our host could not do enough to assist us (she is also the chef😋Our bed was turned down, the breakfast was absolutely delicious & generous we just loved it! Shared balcony off our room overlooking the marina & right in the heart of town. We would definitely come again!!! The only thing that was missing was a fridge(which of course would not fit in with the style of the room).
The host was super helpful and even made a special late night delivery when we asked for help with some necessities. Would recommend to people who wants to be close to the train station and ferry terminal. It’s just right next door.
The space is very large and the environment is good. Just in the town. The front desk was friendly, because it rained on the day we went, and we also provided free hot milk to drive the cold. Recommended stay~
While a littled dated, my room was very clean and comfortable. There are some nice eateries with walking distance. Jacqueline is warm and welcoming. I managed to leave my smart watch behind and didn't realise until I was in Christchurch. She very kindly posted it to me, for which was very grateful.
I had a great stay at Piwaka ( actually, 2 different stays). Lodge is great located, in the middle of Picton with everything handy. It has 2 kitchens, so plenty of space for your cookings. Breakfast is included, rooms are simple but comfortable and clean ( loved that the dorm rooms have a basin, really handy). And Nicci the owner is just amazing, helped me with tips and sorting my transfer to Queen Charlotte Track. Would definitely go back! Luciana
