We booked the batch No.35 with Sea views and a short walk across the little bridge and 100 Meters to the beach if that from our Batch, great getting up early and a nice walk along the beach hardly anyone around (xmas packed) and l did the Homunga bay and Orokawa bay walks which are absolutely amazing and the views are incredible do not get to close to the edge in places but do the walk with someone you will not be disappointed and go early as it can get quite hot and take water as well.
Do not book here unless you want to be awaken EVERY morning just after 8am by the horrific sound of a leaf blower which seems to go on for ever. When we approached Scott (the maintenance guy) to enquire why he starts soo early with the noise we were rudely spoken to and told: ”If you don't like this then you shouldn't book here! Go to a BnB. You are the type who propably complain about the quality of the water too. I don't have time for this. Go take it up with management!” I have been a loyal visitor at this campground since 2016. I have never experience such rudeness and disrespect for paying customers. I understand the leaves have to be blowen away every day, but for goodness sake, use some common sense and don't do it first thing in the morning when holidaymakers want to have a lie in and make the most of their paying holiday. I wonder how Scott will feel if he pays to stay at a BnB snd the owner pulls out the chainsaw at 8am and start cutting down trees every morning! Surely this can be done
My sister and I (in our 70's) were in a family cabin and we used the camp ground bathroom and kitchen. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hot pools were wonderful, the bathroom and kitchen were spotless and other users of those facilities respected the standard set. It gave the impression that everyone there cared about each other and their experience. The owners were friendly and helpful, even though they were ”flat out” busy. Highly recommend as a destination.

Great location in Waihi, handy to everything. Parking onsite outside of unit. Unit was very clean and well arranged. Never stayed anywhere that provided as many power outlets. Normally have to search for them to charge phones etc, but they had plenty. Owners are lovely and friendly. We didnt use the pool as we didnt have time really. Unit has a microwave which is convenient and was spacious for 3 of us. Would stay again. The one downside was the traffic noise with being so close to the highway.
Made a booking directly with the Motel which was cheaper and the personal service was wonderful! This Motel is Pet Friendly so we could bring our Border Collie with us, along with his own bed. The first night they were fully booked apart from one studio room which slept 3, the room was still quite spacious and comfortable. The next night we were able to move into a 2 bedroom unit which was superb! All newly redecorated, the beds were SO comfortable, pillows lovely and fluffy, the shower was awesome. Coffee plungers with complimentary coffee and real milk in a glass bottle. TV's in each bedroom plus one in the lounge! The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful with the local places to dine. The Motel is central to all the restaurants & shops. Loved our stay here, have no hesitation in recommending and can't wait to go back!
