The location is good, close to many attractions. There is a stall selling durian and coconuts about 10-15 minutes away, where you can sit down and eat. The whole house is for our use. The owner does not live there, and there was no one there when we arrived. We had to contact the owner to get the password to get the key. This is recommended to be communicated in advance. The house has many beds, a washing machine, kitchen utensils, etc. However, the house is quite old, and the wall paint is peeling in some places. There are no exhaust fans in several bathrooms, which are relatively humid and moldy. Among the rooms on the second floor, the rooms near the front door have poor sound insulation. The cars passing by downstairs and the conversations of passers-by can be heard clearly. The rooms near the back door are relatively quiet.
The service was the best, given by a beautiful lady with glasses and short hair (friendly)!
I booked a double standard room, one of the sheets had a yellow stain, and the other bed cover had blood stains. When you go out, you should pay attention to hygiene. It should be that the bedding was not changed. The room service of this hotel is not very hygienic! It is suitable to walk around nearby!
The Magazine Vista Hotel in Penang is more cost-effective. When choosing this hotel, I consulted for a long time, such as booking (more reviews, good or bad), Ctrip (only a simple review). Because it only opened in 2018, the hardware is very new, and the hygiene is good. I especially like to have a washing machine, but I have to find a place to dry the clothes indoors. The location of the apartment is very good. On the left is the GAMA supermarket, and on the right is the landmark of Everbright. Fruits and snacks have their own favorites! Call the front desk before arriving at the hotel, because the front desk is not here, so call in advance and the hotel will send staff to wait at the door. When you call, you need to speak English. There is a Chinese-speaking waiter. India borrowed ”Di Li” (transliteration)-Figure 6 this one. If you call him, you will have no difficulty in communication. He will come to collect a tax of MYR 10 per night, introduce room facilities, and even help you set up a taxi app on your phone. The network is poor and it can't be connected for a few days, so it is important to buy a local phone card. On the second floor facing the street, the noise of motorcycles on the street is loud, which will affect the rest. These problems are not big, this hotel is worth recommending.
I recently stayed at The Granite Luxury Hotel and unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected from a luxury hotel.
Upon arrival, I noticed several issues in my room:
- The bathroom light was flickering non-stop, making it uncomfortable to use.
- There was visible mold and unidentified stains in the bathroom, which raised serious hygiene concerns.
- The clothing rack was rusted and looked like it hadn’t been maintained in years.
- Inside the cabinet, I found broken pieces, which was both inconvenient and disappointing.
I reported these issues to the front desk late at night. For a hotel that claims to offer luxury accommodations, the lack of cleanliness, maintenance, and responsiveness was unacceptable.
I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and improves their standards to ensure a better experience for future guests.
This is my second stay here despite the multiple options available in the old town of Georgetown. I like the location - central, yet in a smaller street where there is little traffic (light sleepers like me appreciate this, as staying in a renovated shop house often comes with poor sound insulation).
The room is of an acceptable size, kept clean, and there is a free water fountain to top up filtered drinking water (bottled water not provided).
I opted to have breakfast this time around, and it is frankly disappointing. The nasi lemak rice is not fragrant, and the selection of hot foods, especially the proteins, is wanting. I'd much rather have a hearty local breakfast in one of the kopitiams in Georgetown.

Outstanding
AAnonymous UserE&O is our favourite hotel in Penang. Being a local Penangite, we frequently ate at Sarkies and even had our wedding in this hotel 10 years ago. We're back in this hotel for our anniversary, however we were a little disappointed with our stay. The bathtub in our corner suite is extremely dirty and stained. We asked the housekeepers to clean it as we wanted to use it. Worse of all, when we filled the tub with water, to our horror, the water was brown in colour!! Not sure if there is proper maintenance done to ensure the water supply is not tainted. The housekeepers also did not refill the complimentary mini bar items despite stating that our suite includes replenishment of the mini bar items on a daily basis. The surface area and tables were not wiped properly as well when they came to clean the room. We hope the management would seriously look into this matter, especially on the water source and overall cleanliness of the suite / bathroom.
GGuest UserWe loved staying at this hotel. The staff were very helpful. The surroundings are beautiful and care goes into making everything comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. Excellent service especially the housekeeping. Dining was great and the service was friendly and efficient. We also used the spa which was lovely.

IIpohiteThe front liners were friendly and helpful. The stalls selling popular food like char kuey teow are just a few steps away (New Lane). A popular local biscuit outlet is just opposite the hotel for those who want to buy back. Within walking distance, are the iconic Komtar and Gamma. Behind the hotel, one will find the local market. Easy to get Grab services too to places like Kek Lok Si temple.
GGuest UserSuper good view from the room and delicious breakfast. I enjoyed the night, but this round, I rated 3 for cleanliness because there was tomato on the floor and ants inside the room. I support the idea of being eco-friendly, but housekeeping is important, especially after checkout from previous customers.
MmyLamOur group of 5 have an extremely delightful 3 nights stay in Ozo Hotel. Location is great, and walkable to many eateries, shops and attractions.
Room is modern, well designed, bright and pleasing. While the pillows and quilt are very comfortable, we felt the mattress is both too soft and saggy which affected our sleep.
The best part of our stay is surely attributed to their wonderful and friendly staffs like Yin, Ariq (and many others whose names I forgot to ask.) They really go that extra mile to make our day!
And don’t forget to try out the delicious and sumptuous breakfast too. Helmed by Chef Aaron, the menu is changed daily so guests are never bored with same food. The sambal chilli and curry puffs are home made and a Must Try!
In summary, other than the discomfort with the sunken mattresses, we enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.
IIpohiteMy mom was impressed by the excellent service provided by the staff from the porter to the front desk to waiters at Makan Cafe.
Our dinner was delicious. I personally commend a friendly and helpful staff stationed at Makan Cafe , En Syarifuddin, who patiently recommended to my mom and I the types of food in the menu. He went the extra mile to ensure food was served on time.
We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The place was beautiful and the weather was mild.
We hope to visit again soon
