Excellent
GGuest UserVery clean and lovely hotel with a very nice outdoor pool. I stayed there just for one night. Breakfast was very delicious and variant.
Close to the city center with multiple local restaurants.
GGuest UserThe environment is very beautiful and unique. The front desk service is very enthusiastic and responsive. Some front desk staff can speak Chinese, while others can't. It is about a kilometer walk from RDC. It is also not far from the airport. It is a good choice for people who go to RDC and the Orangutan and Sun Bear Conservation Center. The cabin room has good air conditioning. The triple room is very suitable for families. It is recommended to have one more seat in the room. The lobby and restaurant are open, without air conditioning, and mosquitoes are more severe at night. There is an outdoor swimming pool. The breakfast is a bit too simple. The ordered food tastes good.
MMuhammad Aliff Abdul RazakOne of the cheapest budget hotel in sandakan but with affordable price for backpackers.
This was my family trip with parents. So my parents got the reception floor room while i got the second floor with stairs only. No lift.
EEdhamThe breakfast buffet options were really limited. Eg, theres only 1 type of chicken and they put very little amount each batch. Had to wait another batch once its finish. Its not worth paying rm25-30 per head for the breakfast. I suggest you go by foot to the nearby places or restaurant for better food options.
I pick this place mainly for its swimming pool, but after seeing the water up close, its SO DIRTY! You can see a lot of phlegm, saliva, dust, hairs, some trash inside the water with algae. THERE WERE LOTS OF HAIRS during my visit. I felt disgusted by the water pool, pls save ur kids from going into the disease-ridden pool. The hotel needs to upgrade their pool- water filter system. Please.
I tried the full body massage service, cost me about RM78, it was okay-ish. Not much to compliment or complaint, it was very average. And they dont use proper massage bed, they use thin mattress placed on the floor. So you cannot put ur face down, u need to put ur face sideways, which made my neck uncomfortable the whole time.
Otherwise room was okay, they need to clean under the bed, as i notice theres A LOT OF trash under the bedframe. The towel seems to be very old, they need to replace it. Looks very worn out.
During my stay, the water pipe had rust in it. It was very rusty for the whole 1 hour, i had to flush it out before the water become usable.
Mind you. Theres a lot of positive things about the place too, but a positive experience should be a given, that a basic standards, so i only point out the things that may ward you off from coming to this place if you're like me.
Im travelling with kids, so I expect more quality service.
If im travelling alone, i really don't care with the downsides of this place.
HHusse_SerkGlad that I stayed just for 1 night, but that 1 night cause me to have a bar flu, as I am allergic to dusty. The place itself is okay, and quite convenient for those who just want to stay for a day transit, as it is near to the airport, and only 20mins to Sepilok Orang Utan. The place is rundown, as u can see in the pictures, they seem not to have effort to change the bad wall paper, clean the dusty etc. Really need to refurbish again. Stay away if u have an allergic to dusty, u will regret like me. But a good area for transit in terms of location. Breakfast food was just okay.
I stayed here for four nights and I could easily have stayed longer. This place feels like a piece of heaven. I had a beautiful simple cabin with a stunning view. Every night I could hear animals crawling and scrambling on the roof. It was really a unique experience! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Especially Sila. The restaurant had some nice food for a decent price and breakfast was good. Not a lot, but sufficient. There was always coffee and tea for free and they kept my snacks for free in their fridge during my stay so the animals could not smell it in my cabin. Their shuttle service was very good. It was easy to communicate with the driver if I was going to need his service when I was out exploring. And If I wanted to go elsewhere I was always told the price beforehand. I went on almost all of their excursions and can recommend all of them. If you’re looking for a relaxing cabin in the middle of nature this is the perfect place. I cannot recommend it enough.
GGuest UserWe stayed here for 3 nights and absolutely loved it! The standard rooms are on the basic side, however for the money we paid we felt this was more than adequate (Considering you are in the middle of the jungle). The staff and the food were amazing and you’re well fed with the free breakfast! Actually very surprised at the previous reviews on here as the staff went above and beyond to cater to us and seemed really interested in our travel plans etc. Nothing was ever a bother for them and they seemed to really like their jobs from our point of view. We did make an effort to speak to all the staff (human decency), which in turn they were always super welcoming to us! The closeness to the attractions you want to see in Sepilok is the main bonus, with the orangutans and the sun bears being within a 10 minute walk. We spoke to some other travellers who weren’t staying here but came for lunch and they said how they highly regretted not booking here as theirs was practically derelict. The pool area is great for a cool down and very refreshing and the wildlife we seen around the resort alone was amazing. We 100% would come back and would definitely recommend!
