The hotel was used for a long business trip. The hotel has a sky bar where you can enjoy a beer while watching the sunset. There are many Chinese short-term tourists on the weekends, so the breakfast is distracting and complicated, but the friendly staff took care of me to eat without any inconvenience. The location is a little far from the city but not bad. I stayed there for the length of my business trip, staying longer than planned. Recommended hotel.

Look at the hotel's appearance is very general, the hotel room is generally small and medium, the location is in the city center, to surprise me is the bar on the roof, sitting on the top floor, blowing the breeze, eating dinner, very beautiful. Breakfast is also very medium, I suggest you go early, usually after 8 o'clock, breakfast is basically nothing. There will be Chinese staff at the front desk, so you don't have to be afraid of not speaking Chinese. It is ok to clean the tip or help with the baggage of 1000 Myanmar dollars. I want to eat special Burmese or Chinese dishes. There are many electric tricycles at the door. You can provide the detailed address to the tricycle driver. The price is as close as 1000 Myanmar dollars, and the farther 2500 Myanmar coins are almost the same. It is just a few streets away. It is best to ask the driver how much before getting on the bus. If you want to eat fruit, you can ask the tricycle driver to buy fruit, and you will bring four fruit wholesale stores (similar). The first one is close to the street. Don’t buy it because the boss will speak Chinese, and the fruit will be sold. It won't be Chinese, but fruit can be bargained and much cheaper than the first one. Little durian is my favorite. I want to pack the durian back to the hotel. Remember to put the durian meat in the box and wrap it in plastic wrap to enter the hotel. Remember to bring the whole durian into the hotel.
This hotel was wonderful. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were nicely appointed. The roof top restaurant was great. There was a happy hour and a free puppet show during dinner. It was also in walking distance to great restaurants.
I didn't expect the Samsung hotel rooms to be equipped with bathtubs, and the pool and gym environment was also very good. The room is very spacious and the service is very detailed. The hotel is said to have opened last year. The facilities are newer than other hotels in Mandalay. It feels that it has reached the 4-star standard and will choose next time.
I stayed in a deluxe room. The room environment is also good. There are three elevators, which is convenient. The hotel is safe as there is always a security guard on the first floor.
New wave hotel is close to Mandalay railway station and bus station
There are restaurants nearby to exchange foreign currency and eat
I especially like the bar & restaurant on the top floor of the hotel, which overlooks the Mandalay Palace not far away and Mandalay Mountain in the distance.

Outstanding
GGuest UserIt is the most expensive but clean and modern hotel in Mandalay.
The variety of breakfasts and clean rooms are recommended to everyone.
However, there are some areas for improvement.
1. This hotel charges an additional fee of $13 for children over 6 years old (including breakfast) regardless of whether or not there is an extra bed. ㅡ This is different from the free policy for children under 11 years old on the Trip.com app, so you should definitely know this.
2. The room on the 5th floor that I was initially guided to had a strong adhesive smell that seemed to be due to construction, so I had to change the room to the 7th floor.
Also, the 3rd floor seemed to be a smoking floor, but the smell of cigarettes coming into the elevator was really strong every time it stopped on the 3rd floor. Those who hate the smell of cigarettes should definitely check if there is a non-smoking room.
These areas for improvement were made possible by the kindness of the staff. We only felt uncomfortable when we first checked in, but we were able to spend the next 3 days relaxing by using the nice swimming pool, sauna, and spa. Thank you.
GGuest UserIncredibly good hotel for the price, I tried other more expensive ones in Mandalay but this one was way better than any other in terms of room space, cleanliness, general service etc. I even saw and heard other European guests were saying the same that they should have found and chosen this hotel earlier. The breakfast is very good but the dinner at the restaurant should provide wider choices and various sizes of dish, because they are all mega-portion stuff with 10000 kyat or so and I couldn't finish the plate. I would prefer smaller sized dish with lower price for single person and at least they can make it half-size. And I never figured out how to order the BBQ and Hot Pot because nobody in the restaurant space explained about that, nor had I seen any menu book about them although it is exhibitingly cooked open-air. The hotel clerks are kind and polite but I didn't see they were fully orchestrated in an excellent hotel team manner. Anyway overall the stay was great and this hotel secured my pleasant and fruitful trip to Mandalay.
SSimonericReally convenient from the station, and convenient for food and transport. Not so great if you want to sightsee on foot, the surrounding neighbourhoods are a little bland in the midday heat. The hostel is super clean and super friendly and I would definitely stay again.
GGuest UserThe hotel is solid, but old, tired in places. The staff is very good, they do everything they can. The pool is suitable for swimming, the breakfasts are varied, the restaurant is up to standard. It is not noisy in the room. The bed linen is old and the windows could do with washing. Overall, a decent hotel, especially by Burmese standards.
GGuest UserI only stayed 1 night at this hotel but it’s absolutely wonderful. Unlike most hotels in SE Asia the beds here are so comfortable and not rock hard. The shower was great, the water is hot and the pressure is perfect. Breakfast is 5/5 because there’s such a wonderful variety. They had fresh pastries and an actual omelette station.
Another highlight of this hotel is the rooftop. There’s an infinity pool and a bar. It was nice to NOT have to scream across the table to chat with my fiancé because the atmosphere/ambiance is perfect. Nice light music and a very chill place to be. I highly recommend this hotel.
GGuest UserValue for money, two staff can speak English fluently and all staff are helpful and customer caring. They help to arrange transportations efficiently and provide recommendations for sight seeing. Foods are fine. Even though some of the staff are unable speak English, they would try their best to offer help.
OOlegIt good hotel. 3-rd floor everything is old and used. 2-nd floor renovated and clean. Restaurant and breakfast good. Has gym, swimming pool. Reception stuff is good and helpful.
GGuest UserThe hotel is quite new! The room is quite spacious! Health is very good! Service is also OK! There is a gym and a semi-outdoor pool on the top floor! the most important is! ! Can overlook the entire Mandalay! !太赞啦 Refills (*^▽^*)
YYEE THENGI stayed at Holidays Pier Hotel for 2 days during my business trip on November 2025 . The room was beautifully and clean. The location was perfect with city view. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay. However, the air conditioning in our room was a bit noisy. Overall, it was a delightful experience.
