仙台で宿泊する時は、郊外型格安ホテルの「シーラックパル仙台」をよく利用します。仙台中心部のビジネスホテルと比べ、立地以外に見劣りする点はほぼ皆無だからです。クルマでの移動の場合、立地による交通の便の悪さは気にならず、圧倒的なコスパの高さが気に入っています。 今回は試しにまだ新しい、このホテルを利用してみました。ホテル側が想定している客層は、「シーラックパル仙台」と恐らく同じでしょう。価格帯はこちらの方が若干高めです。 立地は国道４号線沿いで極めて判りやすい場所にあります。周辺には倉庫や作業場が立ち並び、お店の類は何もありません。白石側に少しだけ行くとコンビニがありました。建物はまだ新しくて本当にキレイです。駐車場は建物に隣接して多数の区画が設けられていました。 接客応対は、この手のホテルの中ではかなりいい方だと思います。 ホテル敷地に支配人夫婦を住み込ませるという、このホテルチェーン独自の雇用形態ですが、一部で労使間の揉め事が生じたという報道がありました。ただ、利用客の立場からすると、競合するホテルチェーンより接客応対は良好なケースが多いように感じます。 温泉のお湯は、那須の「フロラシオン那須」からの運び湯です。成分分析表で確認しました。那須でのお湯の状態がどうか判りませんが、タンクローリーで仙台まで運ばれて使われると、循環ろ過されている事もあり、特に特徴のない状態となっていました。 浴室や脱衣所は、昨今の状況を考えると狭いです。浴室の洗い場は４ヶ所、脱衣所も脱衣カゴ６個程度しか置けないコンパクトな空間です。さらに完全に締切のため換気も良くなく、ちょっと密な空間となっています。小さい窓でもあれば良かったのですが…。客室のテレビ画面で浴室の混雑具合を確認できる仕組みですが、情報がリアルタイムで更新されている訳ではなく、ちょっとタイムラグがありました。 客室や一階の食事スペースも狭いのは、他のスーパーホテルと同じです。この辺りはそういうコンセプトで割り切っているのでしょう。ただ、前述した「シーラックパル仙台」の客室は、遥かにゆったりとした空間です。 朝食バイキングの内容は、売りにしているらしい牛タンカレー以外、可も無し不可も無しといった内容でした。「シーラックパル仙台」も朝食でカレーがあり、牛タンではなく普通の豚肉カレーでしたが、味はシーラックの方が多少美味しかったように感じました。 とはいえ、オール込で六千円台前半の価格だと、あまり過大な要望は禁物です。こんなものかもしれないです。しかし、前述の「シーラックパル仙台」と比較してしまうと、現状ではこのホテル、多少分が悪いように感じた次第です。
