Spent two days at the Surfeel Hotel, Wakkanai in early February 23. It is a short walk from Wakkanai rail station and well placed to reach most of the town easily on foot. Well I say easily, the snow was incredibly high in the streets and sidewalks so obviously the right clothing and footwear is essential! We had a lovely room overlooking the sea with a big picture window. We could spend hours watching the changing conditions which moved through heavy snow to sunshine back to snow in minutes throughout most of our stay. The old infrastructure from submarine pens has now gone but the covered archway stretches out to form one side of the harbour just beyond the hotel. We ate out in town both nights we were in Wakkanai - not a reflection on the hotel offering but just part of our normal routine to explore and experience other things. We did try and get a drink one night in the rooftop bar but found it closed for the season. We managed to get a couple of beers in the restaurant on the ground floor but they kicked us out at 9pm as they were closing! That said staff throughout the hotel were charming and helpful as ever. Breakfast was pretty good. The offering was dominated by Japanese specialities as you would more than expect with limited western alternatives but the croissant, coffee and eggs were all good. We tried a variety of Japanese dishes and they were pretty good as well. The temperature in the restaurant was about 30C and just felt unhealthy. We were the only people in there but the Japanese obsession with anti-COVID measures is very tiresome and masks were required as were gloves whilst getting your food on a tray from the buffet. At least we didn’t have a pathetic little plastic screen placed between us like we did at our hotel in Sapporo! We knew the Japanese would be masked up - they often were even before COVID - but come on, time and life have moved on! All-in-all a very good hotel and option for stay in Wakkanai especially with a sea-view room on a higher floor. Well done Surfeel Hotel and thank you.
There is a free curry service for dinner from Monday to Thursday. Lucky to hear this story on Monday's stay. The staff was polite in the dining room, and curry was also more satisfying than I imagined. The hot spring was also pleasant. The parking lot is in front of the hotel and there is a large parking lot behind it, so you can rest assured.
Looking at the old, but in the relatively remote town of Wakkanai, it is quite good, the basic facilities are complete, and the style bathrobe. It is not far from the Wakkanai Station, and it is about 700 meters walk. The nearby convenience store may have to go to Senkomato in Wakkanai Station. After all, things are still there. Overall, there is no one at the front desk. I can only go to the service staff for help. I recommend using Japanese.

Facilities: Advantages: The room is large and can open two 28-inch suitcases; the windows of the room can be opened, the outside is shaded by trees and the air is fresh. Disadvantages: The toilet cannot be electrified so there is no cleaning device. The bed is soft.
Health: Good 👍 Japan's consistent standard.
Environment: It is more than ten minutes away from JR Wakandai Station and bus terminal. If the navigation may appear, the name of the Sheden Hotel may be the KITO Hotel, because the two names on the hotel wall are available. There are convenience supermarkets such as Rosen and shell removal business in the surrounding area; there is a barbecue seven or eight minutes walk.
Service: The female staff at the front desk was very warm and thoughtful. When it rained, they took the umbrella and asked if we needed it.
The hotel is good for a temporary transfer during the trip.

Close to JR Minami Wakkanai station and next to Wakkanai police station. When I saw ”Chico ―”, it was Wakkanai port. I looked for it on the net and booked it. Is it a business hotel that approached the city hotel a little? 8750 yen with 2 meals in the morning and evening, and a discount of rubu was used from there. Use ”new” (dinner) and ”orchid” (breakfast) and two restaurants in the building. Cars are parked on the plane around. Air conditioning remains heating setting prohibited from change. Relatively high temperature, from sunny to cloudy, windy day, windows were not open and a little steamed. Winter in the snowstorm will be hard. Wakkanai is a 'big city' that finally arrives in the wilderness. It is about 5 km north of Jr Wakkanai station, about 5 km south of route 40, about 5 km south of East and West, about 40000 people, flat residential areas, and still a large city. I entered the national route 238 and went out on route 232, but it seemed to be a very valuable experience. The most interesting thing was route 238 from hamatonbetsu to Wakkanai via Cape soya. There are small and small fishing villages in the fields and terrace without even farms, but the buildings of any village were newly built. I heard it was scallop palace. Is it like this when shellfish?
This was a last minute booking as I cancelled the booking for another hotel by mistake and did not realise until I was at the other hotel itself.
Dormy Inn is very convenient, less than 8 minutes to JR Wakkanai.
The rooms are quite small and sparsely furnished but still comfortable for our family.
Enough power plugs all over the room but no UDB charging points so remember to bring your travel adapters.
What the room lacks in amenities, the facilities more than make up for it.
There is FREE ramen every night from 9.30pm at the hotel restaurant, so we simply bought a some food from the seica mart at JR wakkanai and eat before the restaurant opens at night.
On top of this, there is of course the roof top onsen. We like in particular the outdoor part of the onsen where you can enjoy the snow falling onto you while you soak in the pool.
After the onsen bath you can help yourself to the free ice cream outside the men's and ladies' onsen.
There is also a small manga library between these 2 onsens too.
We loved our stay here and will be glad to stay here again if we go to wakkanai again.
The first Wakkanai trip and Wakkanai station were naturally convenient, and it was not found to look for the inn, and it decided to see the evaluation of ”convenient in downtown”. Downtown = The food and drink district (night town) is lively (in a good sense) like a local area, and convenience stores and coin laundry are nearby, making it convenient. The new building twin has a large room, clean interior and quiet. The bath is also lukewarm with hot springs. And above all, I was very satisfied with the breakfast buffet, home-cooked refreshing items 々 that make the best use of local products instead of ordinary Japanese and Western food!

MmarinepolarisUse because the surrounding hotel was full. Wakkanai hotels were not suitable for one person travel, and there was a hotel that could stay at a reasonable price. The guest house was new and the facilities were substantial because it opened in June 2020. Also, the conversation with the friendly owner was played, and it became a pleasant stay.
GGuest User2023/6/5 Stay 1 week trip to Hokkaido. Stayed at Guest House Moshiripa in Wakkanai. First time using a guest house. The room and toilet are clean. I didn't use the shower room this time, but I think it's probably as well cleaned as the toilet. You can also use the shared space freely. You can drink free coffee in the morning and stay comfortably. I was able to spend a good day, feeling that they were considerate of each other so as not to disturb other guests. The futon was also hygienic. Many people traveling by motorcycle stayed, but there is a parking space for people with cars, so it is safe. Recommended accommodation.
GGuest UserIt feels like an old-fashioned inn, but the rooms, toilets, and baths seem to have been renovated and are clean and easy to use. Especially, the bath is 24 hours a day and the bathtub is large. However, since you can enter by locking one by one, you have to see the timing. Supper was a simple course, but it's enough. Ordinary women may not be able to eat it. Even if you have crab or octopus shabu-shabu on this, you may not be able to eat it unless you are a young athletic club. The rice is also delicious. Cold sake is Otokoyama limited to Wakkanai. This can be drunk like water. The room does not have air conditioning, but the temperature drops at night so you can sleep enough. The parking lot has no roof, so the bike may be tight on a rainy day
