I originally booked this hotel for the convenience of going to Mount Aso, but I didn't realize that the volcano had been closed for some time. This hotel is located in a far outskirts, but the facilities are very good and the environment is beautiful. When we arrived, the owner was very enthusiastic and explained. We didn't understand Japanese, so he translated to us on the phone. The hot spring is in another room, and there were not many guests that night. Our family could enjoy one hot spring room, and everyone was very satisfied. The room is large, with one bed per person and complete facilities. The breakfast the next day was Western-style and very rich. The bakery owner who couldn't finish it packed it for us and took it away. No food was wasted. Very good service. There is also an astronomical telescope on the grassland. Unfortunately, it was very cloudy that night, so there was no chance to see the stars. No wonder the hotel has ”Galaxy” as its name. I think you can see the Milky Way in the sky when the weather is good. I hope to have the opportunity to come back next time. Fortunately, Mount Aso suddenly opened again after checking out, and we actually saw the volcano!

We were able to stay conveniently without inconvenience such as environment, facilities and amenities. I walked around to eat near the hotel, but I couldn't use it because it was full of reservations. It must have been difficult in terms of time. After all, I drove to find a place to eat.

I like the hideaway atmosphere of the standard Western-style room, but this time I made a last-minute reservation, so there were no rooms with a good view available, so I booked a Deluxe Western-style room for the first time. As far as I could find this room, there was no introduction image, so I was excited until the day to see what it would be like. When I was guided, it was the farthest corner room from the front desk, and the hotel said it was the room with the best view. It was certainly a wonderful view that overlooked the grassland far away. The area is slightly larger than the standard room, but there are no steps and the ceiling is high overall, so there is a sense of openness. The window was also a large sweep window, and there was a cute small window unique to the corner room. There is a large public bath, so I didn't use it, but the bathtub in the room is much larger than the standard one, and it might be good for children to play in the pool. This time as well, I enjoyed coffee while listening to the chirping of wild birds, ate delicious bread, and enjoyed the starry sky.

I used to use it every 1-2 months, but this time I visited again for the first time in more than 10 years. There are improvements such as washing toilets and wifi, but there is no way to hide the aging deterioration of a quarter-century building. In particular, the firmness of the bedding and restaurant chairs is not friendly to the elderly. I used to have a good impression of the open-air bath, but it was disappointing that there were quite a few visitors from the attached campsite, and it was noisy with children swimming and diving. Dinner was a kaiseki meal, but since almost all the dishes were served at once, some were cold, so it was a rush.

What travellers say about Taketa attractions

Discover these places worth visiting in Taketa and select a hotel nearby for ultimate convenience

Kuju Flower Park

1137***66When I visited Kyushu during the summer vacation, I didn’t expect there to be such a beautiful flower field near Oita City. When I visited in August, the sunflowers in the garden were in full bloom, like a whole sea of sunflowers. There is a large parking lot outdoors, which is convenient for self-driving travelers. The souvenir shop sells a variety of souvenirs, and we recommend Jufeng grapes. In addition, visitors are advised to check the flower field information on the official website to learn about the blooming levels of various flowers.

Ameushino Falls

1137***66When driving, you will see some yellow signs such as Huangyu Waterfall. When you park the car in the parking lot and start walking, you will find a small wooden house. Someone stated that you should use a cane because your feet are dangerous. If you follow the signboard and walk on the promenade, you will first see a dirt road, and if you go down to Kawara, you will follow a rock and stone road. There are small waterfalls on the way, and you can cross stones by the river, so your feet are slippery. Along the road, the view suddenly opens, and a lot of water sounds and energetic waterfalls appear. That power. There is a world that is completely unknown to the outside world. It takes a long time to reach the waterfall. Your feet are dangerous, and depending on the time, animals and snakes may appear, so you may like to explore. I went alone, but there was no one else. If possible, it might be safe if more than one person fell. This space can only be felt by me naturally.

Mt. Kuzumi

Lliebe_powerspotPark your car and enjoy the magnificent scenery. Nearby is a very large swing that suddenly appears named "World's Biggest Swing". It's fun to enjoy the scenery and go back to the hot springs.

Taketa Spring Group

1137***66【Scenery】There are springs everywhere in Takeda City, and most places allow you to take them home, so we recommend that you bring a plastic bottle. 【Fun】Among many hot springs, Irita City is different. Instead of spring water coming from the foot or rocky area, it is a string of water drawn from a waterfall-like waterfall that gushes out from the middle of the rocky area due to the step difference of the welded tuff formation. Cross the Ogata River (Irita River) from the prefectural road, cross the bridge to the left bank, and then enter the sign from the regional road and the thin dark sidewalk, 3 to 4 minutes from the Torii gate. From the curved wall behind the cedar forest, you reach the spring water that draws the rope. However, there is no place to take water there, and it is difficult to drink. People in the area only have a drinking water pipe. Well, the sound of the waterfall is called Kodashi Narutaki? However, there is no sound of the waterfall. The spring water I don't understand.
