Owner is a bit Eccentric and cares more about his daytime dramas. Also has a Dalmatian which he keeps chained in the corner of the living room. Dog is always barking and can be quite a nuisance at times. Also i think the dog urinated as the owner keeps him chained inside all the time. So if you don’t mind the heavy smell of a dog and a unfriendly owner, then look elsewhere.
Positives are the onsen is very hot and good. Food is above average and the time they take to make it shows in the details. The rooms are Japanese style and basic. No outlet plugs for charging devices.
I would not stay here again.
I booked a special room and told them a few days before that if a Japanese-style room was available on the day, I would like to change the room, but I didn't hear anything from them until the day itself. I thought, ”Well, I guess that can't be helped,” but when I checked in on the day, they explained that they had changed the room because a Japanese-style room was available. Since I had asked them, I thought I would just leave my luggage in the room and enjoy myself, but what about the price? If you change the room, there will be a price difference, right?? However, the front desk didn't say anything when I checked in, so I didn't want to stay there without asking, so I called the intercom to confirm the price, and they said, ”It will be XX yen,” and there was indeed a difference! Even so, there was no explanation, and they wouldn't say anything unless the customer asked???? Furthermore, (this may be the same for other customers, so it's subjective), I told them in advance about the ingredients I have allergies to and if they could substitute them, but there was no explanation about this either. Furthermore, when we sat down, one person was given two servings of sashimi, and the other was given sashimi konnyaku instead. Huh...there was no explanation of the seating arrangement...are the two people who went together getting different meals?? Or was it an allergy?? Even so, aren't two servings of sashimi and sashimi konnyaku completely different in appearance and unit price??? The price of the accommodation and the food were somehow frustrating, instead of being fun. It was a memorable year's trip for the couple. Furthermore, at night, the inn delivered cold water to each room by pitcher as a service. The cold water was written to be delicious in the reviews, and since I was thirsty after taking a bath in the hot spring, I emptied it in no time and asked if I could have another pitcher??? I called the intercom and was told that I could get the same water if I turned on the tap in my room!! . .?? I was told to drink tap water without ice! I was shocked and hung up the phone, but I wonder how the staff was trained__... Although it is a highly rated inn, I never want to go there again.

We stayed at this hotel for five nights, skiing, looking at the village where Nozawa Hot Springs is located, and I heard that place was highly rated. The hotel is located in the remote village, about 500 meters from Shin-yu double chair ropeway, take the ropeway to Hirage Gondola( There are ski schools, information desks, coffee houses, etc. The ropeway is free, but if you want to ski, you have to buy tickets at the top. You can't ski back to the base of the ropeway and you have to sit back on the ropeway. The walk to the ropeway was more plodding but short and no one in our group felt difficult, we were wearing ski boots and carrying snowboards. We were taken to our room upon arrival at the hotel, The waitress made tea and poured it on us, she was very hospitable. The hotel room was very clean. Our room had two Western beds and a tatami area with Japanese mattress. The waitress put down the mattress for us every night, Then put it away when we have breakfast. The room has a refrigerator, minibar, hot water bottle and green tea, a snack or cake every day, air conditioning, alarm clock, flat screen TV (all Japanese stations), good shower and pool. But we mainly took a shower in the hotel's hot springs, first in the purification area and then sitting in the hot spring pool for a few minutes. This was relaxing after a day of skiing. The hot springs were large and basically you enjoyed the hot springs after dinner. Breakfast was Japanese, with some western stuff, bacon, sausage and excellent, including grilled fish, salad and steamed broccoli with good Japanese salad dressing, all sorts of vegetables and pickles, rice, flavor, dumplings, porridge, etc. Also the best croissants and good coffee. Breakfast was included in the room rate. Unfortunately we didn't try dinner at the restaurant because communication went wrong. Dinner was expensive, 500 yuan per person, and served Japanese cuisine with fixed dishes. No one in this hotel has good English, our Japanese is limited so we have some small things like recommending restaurants for dinner, how to use an electric kettle, whether there is a shuttle bus from hotel to ski resort (no, indeed), the hotel lobby and the village behind the wheeled jar bird Stories, etc., are in trouble. Like many Japanese hotels and restaurants, smoking is a problem, and especially in cold weather. There is also a computer in the stairwell with high-speed Internet connection (free), but no wireless network and no Internet connection with the computer you bring. The village is great. There must be many small restaurants to try, both cheap and some high-end. Most have English menus and the owner has enough English to handle a la carte, but it is hard to deal with special requests or problems (e.g. whether eggs are hot or cold). Pork ramen is always a safe choice, tasty and cheap. There are 13 hot springs (indoor hot springs, pools for men and women) in the village and they are all free (you can donate some money in the box). We didn't try the hot springs because they were always overcrowded when we went and the hotel had its own hot springs.
I stay at Nozawa dream central whenever I can visiting Nozawa. Comfortable lodge with extremely friendly and helpful staff that really make it a great place to stay. Always feel welcome and they go out of their way to help with anything you need. The breakfast is wonderful with a great combination of western and Japanese options and my favourite home made bread by Adi. Good location convenient to bus station and restaurants.
Great location for forest therapy. Located in the godly forest of Kosuga Town and by Lake Hokuryu. While viewing heart-shaped Lake Hokuryu from the outdoor bath, refresh your body and soul, and wish for luck in romance!
