"We spent three wonderful nights here. The host is very kind and attentive, cooks an excellent breakfast (which he can make vegetarian if needed), and offers a shuttle service to the city center included in the reservation. The rooms are very clean, spacious, and well-equipped. To top it all off, you can even enjoy one of the many private hot tubs. In short, I would have gladly given it a sixth star if I could!"

"Fantastic service and experience. Seamless check-in from the moment we were greeted at the front porch all the way being orienteered around the hotel and escorted to the hotel. Facilities immaculate, especially loved the Onsen. Information regarding our dietary requirements have been communicated well through the different teams at the hotel."

"Very comfortable hotel experience, we stayed for two nights. This home is not central in the daylight, but not far from the main attractions. After booking, the hotel will send an email to inform you of the check-in details. Upon arrival at the Nikko Station, you will be picked up by car. Checkin first sent a drink, sparkling champagne and matcha are very good, and the 跪 service is very thoughtful. We chose two Western-style beds plus tatami. The name of the guest will be affixed to the door of the room. The two people sleep very much. The outside is a beautiful courtyard view. Each room has an independent hot spring. In fact, there are basically no people in the big bath. (Because the hotel rooms are not too much), they are basically exclusive. At the hotel, I tasted two Kaiseki dinners and breakfasts. The patterns were different and the roads were delicious. Each room was arranged in a small box and the privacy was very good. In the morning, there are milk and wheat tea in the hot springs. In the morning, I can go to the sights to play and there are cars that can be sent to the Toshogu Shrine. In the afternoon, I am tired and make a phone call. I immediately have a car to pick up the cards at the designated place. It is also very thoughtful. In short, it is definitely a good hotel that I would recommend to my friends."

"It is a hotel with a historical atmosphere. If you are good at English and Japanese, you will experience more. It is very close to the Shinkyo Bridge. The hotel service responded promptly and the attitude was good. The well-received Western food is really good. The marbled steak tastes amazing. The Japanese red trout is not impressive at first, but I actually like it haha. In short, both sets are quite satisfactory. The breakfast is a simple carbohydrate satisfaction, and the butter is good. I give satisfaction points for both meals. The deluxe room is large and the equipment is relatively new. The bedding is soft and thick. There is no dissatisfaction with other things such as bathroom hot water, toiletries, air conditioning temperature, room odor, etc. I left the hotel to play and stored the gift. When I returned, I asked the hotel to help call a taxi. Due to the evening rush hour, I didn’t make an appointment for the car, but the hotel waiter kept trying to make a call. In the end, he was very sorry and gave the taxi company card for our subsequent use. In short, it is a recommended hotel to stay in Nikko."

"Excellent service, we were lost and called the hotel for directions, and the staff actually came to the station to meet us, so sweet of him. Complimentary breakfast was good and filling for us to start our sightseeing journey. Location conveniently located within 5-10mins from Nikko Tobu station and supermarket. Will be again next year for sure."

"From Kinugawa Onsen Station, walk along the river for 20 minutes and cross the iron bridge to the hotel. The hotel is right under the bridge, and you can see that it cost a lot of money to build it. The hot springs are standard, the dinner is rich, and there are acrobats after the meal. It can be seen that most of the tourists are locals."

GGuest UserThe onsen hotel can easily be assessed by bus, just 5 minutes walk after getting off the bus, in fact they have car park too. It is very near to the ferry pier and the view was terrific, every room has a balcony with lake view. It was runned by the owner and her family members. An unique onsen hotel with quiet and peaceful enviornment where we can relax after a long day's journey. The owner and staff were very attentive and care for their guests. My friend was sick, the owner offered her medicine oil to rub her stomach and let her rest in the waiting area even after check-out. The food was so very delicious and it was one of the best onsen food I ever have so far. I would highly recommend to anyone who want to spend a night in Nikko. I will consider to stay in this onsen hotel again in future.

TTL.TeddyWe were hosted by an elderly couple, and his family members. They were super cute, friendly and polite. It's like their small family business, ground floor was a western restaurant, second floor onwards were all the guest rooms. They know a bit of English, so the communication wise no issue at all. What we love about this stay is that other than the room with gorgeous lake view, the host was super helpful to allow us to store our luggage with them even way before our check-in timing. Furthermore he even offer to send us to the laundry shop, when we just casually ask him about the laundry. What actually surprised me the most, was that he even FETCH us from the laundry shop after we were done. Will definitely come back to this place again if I'm in Nikko! Thumbs up! Super host!! 😁

The family is in their 30s. The room is large and the dinner is very luxurious. It is worthy of the specifications of the New Year’s Eve dinner. The service is very meticulous and thoughtful. The hot spring does not feel any minerals, but the venue is large and has an open air. When we left, we had a lot of luggage and took the initiative to drive us to the station, generally affordable

BBenjaminsim87An extravagant Onsen Hotel experience. I came in Autumn in the depth of fall colours. Every night the wind in the trees lulled me to bed. The rooms with the private tub and terrace are awesome. Dinner and breakfast is luxurious too with a sampling of local Nikko delicacies like Yuba. A hotel for adults looking for calm and solace.

JJR_DYReally nice room with an epic view of the lake and enough space for everything. Meals are wonderful and abundant and a seasonal selection each day Perfect place to stay if you are planning to explore okunikko area or to cycle around the lake, there are also restaurants nearby for lunch. The public bath is very pleasant with an outdoor spring to soak in while enjoying an open sky. Found out there was a shuttle bus back to tobu-nikko station setting off at 11am from the hotel after speaking to a kind staff member, Diane. Do make reservations for the shuttle beforehand at the reception if you plan to take this as well. Rental bikes available at the Nikko natural history museum which is a 10min walk from the hotel

CCasual travellerLocation is super, very near to Nikko Station, room is adequate if traveling with very light bag pack. Hotel has a small onsen facility (bathhouse), do check with the counter staff on the operating hours. There are nearby super-mart (family mart is just across the road and another one within walking distance) which makes it great to get snacks for the night. Shops/cafe closes relatively early.

IImdoubThe overall accommodation experience was very good, especially the environment and drink supply in the lobby, which was very warm. The room feels spacious and the environment is comfortable. The view outside the terrace is stunning. The hot springs are also very good. The men's and women's hot springs will swap in the morning and evening, so you can enjoy the hot springs on both sides. There is also a buffet in the morning and evening. Personally, I think the morning buffet is better! It is some distance away from Kinugawa Onsen Station. When passing the station, you will pass a long staircase. Passengers with suitcases and not self-driving should be careful.

Jjlow123Most of the reviews are outdated so I thought I'd give an updated review. For one thing, there is WiFi (I have informed the landlady that the website indicates otherwise). This place is a traditional-style inn. You'll be sleeping in a futon (some Google-fu should help you know how to use one), use two pairs of slippers (one for moving around the house, one exclusively for the toilet) and will also bathe in a Japanese-style shared bathroom. The front gate and bathroom close at 10pm, which is not an issue as everywhere in Nikko closes early and it's too dark to hike outdoors (in early Autumn). We loved using the onsen to relax after a day of strolling around and hiking, and the delicious Japanese-style breakfast was lovingly prepared by a friendly old granny. The premises are old but well-maintained. Toilets, bathroom and onsen were great but we were there during off-peak season so we didn't need to share so much. Should we return to Nikko, this place will be our first choice!

GGuest UserThe second time I stayed here, the first time I stayed in a Western-style room. The room was large and very new. The second time I brought my parents to stay, I chose a traditional Japanese-style room. When I opened the window, I could see the snow-capped mountains and mountains. The attitude of the service staff is very good and the experience is very good. Staff will take the initiative to help make the bed at night. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very good, each restaurant has a fixed location, and dinner and breakfast are prepared in advance. However, the included meals are vegetarian by default. If you want to change meat, remember to tell customer service in advance.

TTsusiefirst of I would like to thanks always trip.com for very nice & convinient bookings everytime,we stay new sakura hotel, because the interior of the hotel is mostly sakura theme, the carpet, the gorgeous chandelier, the wall design, etc.or cherry blossom in Japan,& so very affordable prize,we spend only 18,000 yen for 2 adults, with 2 breakfast & 2 dinner.Very near from kinugawa onsen station, only 3 hrs.from Tokyo. We amazed the room,so very big for the two of us,for very cheap prize, can accomodate even 10 person, the buffet breakfast & dinner also is so good but the most I want to share is the drink all you can alcohol beverages for 1 hour, like beer, japanese wine, sours, all kinds of softhdrinks,I enjoyed for self service alcohol drink all you can!the hotspring also is very good but the cons is take care in the outdoor spring because of the concrete stairs, especially for the elderly when slippery, there's & a little bit far from our room, the young staff also at the counter is nice & most of them are young japanese lady,so very entertaining,so many free amusement like billiard, majong, etc.with a nice sorrounding sightseeng site.& last after check out they give 2000 yen discount coupon for the next visit,Thanks God & trip.com for a nice autumn tour moment in kinugawa onsen Tochigi Perfecture Japan
