The room facilities are simpler, the public bathroom, breakfast and dinner will be delivered to the room, very delicious. The winter room is quite warm. There is a beautiful garden in the inner courtyard. The room facing the garden on the first floor should not be too beautiful, but unfortunately ours is on the second floor. On the top of the end of a corridor in the monastery, I accidentally saw the poems left by President Zhao Puchu when he attended the 1150th anniversary of the Air Sea Into the Sea in 1985.

I booked a Japanese-style room with a bathroom. I stayed in a room on the second floor. There was a small entrance hall, a sink, and a small bathroom at the entrance. It's very cold in Mount Koya in winter. With the air conditioner and heating on, the room is very warm.
The breakfast and dinner of Shojin cuisine are very sumptuous. In the morning class, the master will lead the chanting of sutras and incense, as well as Azi Temple meditation. If you want to participate in the fire offering, you need to make reservations at other temples. There are dedicated people who come to the room to take meals and morning classes, and the service is very considerate. I’ll come back next time during the red leaf season.

The rooms at Sochiji Temple are very large, with one bedroom, one living room, and a separate bathroom, but the bathroom is a public bathroom with a hot spring. This is their style and a very special experience.
The vegetarian meal is like kaiseki cuisine, with many courses served in order and taking more than an hour to eat.

We stayed at the Nishizen-in Shukubo, which is located next to Danjo Garan. The Japanese-style rooms are on the second floor, and the restaurant is on the first floor. Breakfast and dinner are all vegetarian Shojin cuisine. There are sutra copying activities that can be booked. You can listen to the monks' morning classes in the main hall at 7 am.
We were received by a Chinese woman named Li who spoke fluent Japanese. We arrived at 5:30 to check in. The other party was very impatient and thought we arrived too late and delayed her from getting off work, which was very inconsistent with the service quality of Japan. We did not introduce the content of the Shukubo to us. When we were sent to the room, the attitude was bad. He asked: ”Don't you see the teapot? Don't you have a fan?” The attitude of speaking was arrogant and inexplicable! It seems that as a tourist, I need to predict what the Shukubo will give us. Because of this, I give one star for the service!

A series of activities such as meditation and chanting are arranged in the temple. Follow the monks in the monastery to do Buddhist deeds at the prescribed time. The food is vegetarian, very light and full. The door of the room is unlocked, but there is a safe in the room. Public toilets and public baths are fairly convenient.

GGuest UserA short walk from Ekoin, very hospitable and friendly service. Room is big and clean with heater provided. Public bath is big but there’s only one so have to reserve slot. They have fire goma ritual everyday for guests and also sutra writing for free provided. Very recommended temple stay!
