Find the Cheap Laveno-Mombello Hotels

Il Porticciolo must have one of the most beautiful locations of all the lakes of Italy. One whole wall of our very comfortable room overlooked Lake Maggiore and the surrounding snow-capped mountains. We spent a lot of time on our balcony just absorbing the lake and mountains in all of their different moods while the water lapped against the wall directly below us. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the train station, the beautiful town of Laveno-Mombello and the cable car up 1,000m to views that will take your breath away. As well as its superb location, Il Porticciolo has two great restaurants. We have already been in Italy for two months and we would rank the food we were served amongst the very best we have experienced. We found Giovanni and Elisabetta to be great hosts. They were very friendly and looked after us as if we were family. When we arrived the town of Laveno-Mombello was experiencing problems with its gas supplies and Giovanni immediately offered us a free breakfast to compensate for any discomfort. We also enjoyed long conversations with Elisabetta and she drove us to the train station free of charge when we had to catch an early train after our 7 day stay. We would highly recommend Il Porticciolo to you and the great welcome you will receive from Elisabetta and Giovanni.

he room was clean and seemed recently renovated, the air conditioning worked well, breakfast service was efficient and all staff were friendly and spoke a variety of languages, specifically French and English, but I think I also heard them speaking German. We booked the restaurant Al Storno, which is run by the hotel as a separate restaurant and it was very good - highly recommended. Disliked · The bathroom fixtures were in need of renovation, specifically the shower cubicle frame had corrosion around the metal joints and didn't easily close or open, and the wall fixtures for the shower head and hairdryer were poorly finished - lack of attention to detail. Some of the light switches in the room didn't work, but this wasn't an issue for us tbh.

Great location, great staff, excellent food. Garden is exceptional. Rooms were comfortable, clean and well kept. Staff in the restaurant and the bars were friendly and very attentive. The only slight criticism that you could make is that the reception is a little small with only being manned by at most 2 people.

We stayed in the apartment next to the hotel. Spacious and modern rooms, in the bathroom and living room a knob was missing from the furniture. Bathroom with very spacious shower and washing machine. Kitchen with dishwasher and kettle. Breakfast: croissants are given per person directly from the kitchen and are really small. Variety of cakes (the chocolate one is sublime), jams and creams with bread and biscuits. Wide choice of cereals. Little fruit. We also used the restaurant for dinner and apart from a friendly waiter who took away the plates in front of my little girl, who was very slow to eat, we had a good time. The first courses always include soup, pasta and an appetizer (bresaola or caprese), while the second courses always include meat and fish. Good desserts but small portions. Starters and vegetables buffet.

It's very comfortable and nice. It's like staying in a palace. The service staff are also very enthusiastic. The restaurant inside is also delicious. The price is not expensive, only 1,000 per person. The spa inside is very good.
