The hotel was honestly quite good and modern. The location was pretty decent too, lots of good food around the area. They have a vintage lift system, it is pretty cool, but not exactly my cup of tea as it was a bit tough to use the lift with luggage.

The hotel is really closed from the railway station Genova Piazza Principe. I suggest to come here by train, since the parking car reserved with the hotel is closing at night. so you may walk several km in order to find a free parking if you use the car in the night time. If your are not in a travel business, this accomodation could be good, otherwise i don't think it's so much handy.

This hotel is past its prime. It was probably super swanky when it was built, and has stunning views over Genoas port and railway station - but it has not kept up to modern standards. The rooms feel outdated and old. However: the price is low, and for travellers arriving by train the hotel could not be better placed. The rooms have high ceilings and excellent aircondition, as well as good water pressure in the bathrooms. We stayed two nights in the middle of the heat wave and could not have asked for better sleep. Our only complaint would be that the night receptionist did not seem to like his guests very much. We would absolutely recommend the hotel for travellers on a budget, travellers who would like to live close to Genoas narrow & non-gentrified alleyways, and trainspotters who will enjoy the views to all arriving trains!

This hotel looks fantastic on the website, but don't let that mislead you. We arrived after a cruise and a long train ride; we were very much looking forward to staying in a ”Luxury Duplex” with some extra space and comfort for my family. This was far from the truth. After entering our room, the temperature inside the room was 26C. I immediately went to turn on the AC, which didn't work. I immediately went to the front desk and let them know that the AC was not working at all. He came to the room and pretended to set the AC, but only turned on the fan. After sitting there sweating with my entire family for a while, we decided to open the huge window facing the VERY busy and noisy street. I played with the AC control panel only to find that the AC had been disabled completely and only the 'Heat' and 'Fan' options were available. They do this at the maintenance level to conserve electricity. COMPLETELY unacceptable as the temperature in the unit was now 25C (with the window open) and a sweltering 29C in the upper level of the unit. I went back to the desk again to have the AC turned on. I was told that because it was 'Winter', the use of AC was not allowed. The Front Desk Agent was useless, Rude and not helpful at all. I don't care if it's Winter, there is no way my family is going to be able to sleep in a sauna. I went back to the front desk only to be given more excuses; I asked to speak to the Property Manager, who was 'unavailable'. We went out for dinner, leaving the window wide open in hope that it would cool the unit down. Not the case again, due to the design of the room, there is no way to properly ventilate it without using the perfectly good AC system that is disabled because it's 'Winter'. We tried to sleep with the window open, which was Incredibly noisy due to the heavy traffic and late night activity in the area. We all tried to sleep with earplugs, but it was simply way to hot and loud. Horrible experience that was completely avoidable. skip this place altogether...
Basic hotel room which met my needs. My first two nights were a bit noisy due to the proximity of a bar that I was unaware of. My third night was in a different room that was simply quiet bliss! The staff were all wonderful, and the breakfast was delicious. I am still missing the delicious coffees! Hotel Helvetia is close to many attractions, including the train station and the waterfront.

Exceptional gem in Genoa. Stayed 4 days here with excellent time in and out, comfortable but a bit hard beds and huge palace rooms. Enjoyed daily valet service who took care of our car while we ventured out. Extremely convenient location for a visit to a wonderful City of Genoa. Walking distance to a train station should you desire to visit Portofino or any of the areas of Cinqueterra. Daily turn down service and fresh towels without asking. A 5 star deserved here. We will be back. (Not a negative note but one of possible visual and quality improvement is to address the tired and age showing red carpet on the wonderful and remarkable staircase) Cheers to the staff and management.

The hotel is very close to the airport, not far from the metro and train station. It's convenient to eat nearby. There are several Chinese restaurants. The room was cleaned and the breakfast was plentiful. Especially the boss, President Zhao, is considerate and very familiar with the local people and gives you good suggestions for travel.
Standard small hotel room was fine (solo travel). The hotel is different to the chains which I liked. The building is interesting and the staff helpful and friendly. Knockout though is the location in the heart of the old town yet quietly protected from the hubbub of the tourist streets. Good bar in the square and of particular note is the typical local small bar Bar Delle Vigne just around the corner in Vico Del Greci where Daniel and his Father helped with my none existent Italian, made me feel welcome and included me in the general chat. Pointed me to the best local (none tourist ) Italian restaurants.

We stayed at HNN Luxary Suites in Genoa, Italy last night! It’s my first time in Italy and we checked in late after a long journey from Bologna Airport. Beautiful large room with simple & modern decor and beautiful windows that open up and overlook courtyard. It’s walking to distance to several fabulous restaurants where we dined at and had ours standing pasta & wine. It’s about a mile from the water or less. Would def stay here again!

AA6437EXmeiwaWe arrived at late night after a long trip, and we have been welcomed from a really sweet guy who helped us to park our car ,and also offered us a beer .. the room was clean and spacious, the hotel is new and has a stylus and smart concept... we had to stay only 1 night but we extend 1 more nite in order to rest and relax before going back home.. the day after we met elder who seems to be the manager who gave us so many informations on what to see in genova and where to eat proper Italian food .. we felt like home,it wasn’t expected, such a great surprise at the end of our road trip through Europe.. definitely recommended .. we will stay again if we will ever come back to genova.. thanks guys

GGuest UserVery nice hotel, clean rooms, rich breakfast, only 5 minutes away from the city center, very convenient.
Everything in Genova is very cheap, you can have a cup of cappuccino for 1.5 euros in a street cafe, a large bottle of 660ml Italian beer in the supermarket is only 1.3 euros, and mineral water is only 0.15 euros.
You can have a plate of stir-fried vegetables or two braised lion heads for 6 euros in a Chinese restaurant, all of which are unimaginable in Shanghai.
Cchiwaithe location is excellent right across the Milano Brignole Rail station, and there are plenty of eateries and shopping nearby. The room is clean, and drinks and snacks in the fridge are free to guests. This is impressive and well received by both me and my wife. The room is quiet, even though our room is right across the elevator. The elevator is one of the oldest I have seen, and it works perfectly. I will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends. Since I booked this hotel more than a month ago, so the tariff was quite reasonable.

GGuest UserThe hotel is near Brignole Station, but I wouldn't recommend walking outside after dark.
The hotel itself is in a creepy building, and you must take the elevator (very small and very creepy) to the reception.
The room was nothing like the pictures. It was nice and smelled bad (not sure of what, I didn't want to find out).
I was only there for 6 hours, as I was travelling further for the weekend and then back to Genoa. I didn't/wouldn't go back to that hotel.

GGuest UserA little difficult to find even with GPS, though this is due to an overhead pista confusing the GPS. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating when we requested a quieter room. At every juncture the front desk was extremely professional.
The breakfast exceeded expectations with an incredible assortment. The room had good city and harbor views and is quite secure. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

A great family friendly hotel! Staff were very helpful and thoughtful - I was travelling on my own to visit family with a small child and they very kindly upgraded me (without me asking as I would just expect the room I paid for). The room was very clean, and the daily service of the room was excellent too. Breakfast did get a bit crowded on a couple of days but they opened another section the following day to cater to the extra numbers. Pool was great, lovely and clean and nice big towels provided. A really great spot for staying close to the city with a small child who can only manage 1/2 day adventures. My daughter and I LOVED this hotel and thought it was great value!
GGuest UserDue to an unexpected curtailing of a cruise I needed a hotel close to the airport at a decent price and this one fitted the bill. Check in easy. Room on floor 6 was spacious and clean with 2 single beds. TV channels all Italian. You're in Italy so fair enough. Not much round in terms of eateries on foot that I could see so Deliveroo will be your friend. Breakfast not great but it was in with the price so 🤷 Genoa airport is about 150m away so easily walkable which was my main reason for using. Not really close to Genoa centre so will have limited appeal to tourists although there are lovely mountain views to the rear.
