Find the Cheap Capri Hotels

Pluses: 1. Great location a short walk from the village center. 2. Terrific vew of the sea from the small balcony. 3. Pleasant staff. 4. Quiet. 5. Clean. Minuses: 1. An awkwardly shaped room that made moving about difficult at times. There is one place in our room where it was impossible for two people to pass at the same time. 2. The bathroom was very small, and the shower is a joke. My wife and I are of average size, and neither one of us could take a shower without banging our elbows against the plastic doors. I could not bend down to wash my legs and feet. I finally opened one of the doors, getting the floor wet but at least getting a somewhat decent shower. 3. Our balcony was quite small. Just enough room for a couple of chairs and a very small table. 4. Other than the small balcony there are no outside areas of the hotel at which to sit, enjoy the view, and relax. There also is no sitting area inside. 5. The breakfast is pretty mediocre. The eating area, while adequate, is nothing to write home about. 6. Because we were taking some things from one home to another, our luggage was pretty heavy. There was no one to help with the luggage. I am in pretty good shape for a 70 year old, but it wasn't fun getting the suitcases up and down the fairly narrow stairwell with turns in it. Bait and Switch? We originally reserved a room at Hotel Belvedere and Tre Re, down at the Marina Grande. A few weeks before our trip, in contacting me with some information, hotel personnel mentioned something like ”as we previously told you, we moved you to the La Prora.” No reason was given. They had not told us previously. That was the first we heard of it. I responded that we had reserved the Belvedere because we liked the location and it sounded very pleasant, and that we wanted to keep our reservation there. The hotel then responded that the Belvedere had to close (no reason or dates of closure given), and we were assured that the La Prora provided all of the same amenities and qualities as the Belvedere. From reading reviews, that does not appear to be true. For one thing, the balconies at the Belvedere are described as being quite large and pleasant. We walked by the Belvedere. It looked like it could have been closed for quite a long time, and from before we made our reservation. I do not know if that is the case or not. I do know that after our stay at the La Prora I received an e-mail from the hotel requesting that I review the Belvedere.

We were at Tiberio Palace Capri for three days in September and our stay was excellent. The manager, Davide, was incredibly helpful and briefed us of what to do in Capri. His suggestions were excellent. The hotel premises were first class, breakfast and food very good, atmosphere and service, five stars class. The hotel and staff made our days in Capri to be what we dreamed of.

The only negative thing about our experience here was... that we failed to book at least 2-3 nights. We only had time for one night on Capri, but it was an unforgettable evening. Rita was extremely helpful from the jump, even when exchanging our first messages when we booked 3 months in advance. My girlfriend was not feeling well on the way into Sorrento, where we caught a ferry. Rita helped arrange people to help direct us at several locations, and gave us tips on how to find a good cabbie. Once we arrived, we were greeted with all the knowledge we needed to enjoy our stay on Capri. I took a 3 minute video of Rita giving us the run down on where to find busses, where to eat, and sights to see, all located on the very detailed map they offered us. We checked in and the room was delightful; great room temperature control and very inviting. The whole property was a bright, decorated display of what the island has to offer as a whole. Top-notch breakfast included, very reasonable rate. Round the clock service, so beverages are always accessible, with a nice variety. Upon checkout, we were given a private shuttle to the center of Anacapri, where we linked up with a very friendly taxi driver. All around a great experience.

This hotel was a little gem !! It’s family run with excellent additional staff. Everyone so helpful and polite and professional. Clean, beach in front of hotel, restaurant pappone ( part of hotel) is great too especially fish dishes which is majority of options plus excellent wine list. Antonio is a great waiter and chefs are amazing. Alfonso and Alessandro are brothers who own the business and are great chaps. Let me watch football on the tv in lounge as Alfonso had sky sports 👌,ladies in laundry are awesome too, washed my shorts for me for a small fee and the cleaners are first class also. The hotel is a well oiled machine imo and boat trips go to Capri, Positano/Amalfi from the marina in front of the hotel. Buses go to Sorrento, St. Agatha and more. All in all a great place to go !! Although the first impression of the place is not the best (espcially if you arrive at night as it was our case), as soon as you step inside the place, everything changes. It is located inside a convent, with six rooms - we occupied a 4-bedroom and a 2-bedroom both of them spacious, quiet and clean. Breakfast is absolutely marvelous, comprising many homemade pastries, cereal and excellent capuccinos!! The place has a terrace with magnificent views of the sunset on the sea, with some tables or chairs to have a drink. There is also a restaurant a few steps beside which is an excellent option for dinner. Sabrina and Giullia are always available for advice either in person or by wapp and they really run this place as a family bussiness. Thank you both for your patience and your help.
