The selling point of this house is location. It is very close to geyser and the Golden Waterfall in the Geyser geothermal landscape area, located in Golden circle. There is a N1 gas station and a family restaurant Mika at the door. Specialty food shiq various Icelandic lobsters Laungoustine and chocolate, mainly serving locals and welcoming tourists. There is also a large family greenhouse farm nearby Fridhelma, which offers a special lunch (12-16 point): a buffet with tomato sauce soup and bread in a greenhouse full of tomatoes and flowers, and a bar with Horse Show reservations. Not far from the attractions, there is also a hot spring town Fludir where you can soak in hot springs.

I’ve never stayed in a place like this before. We stayed in both bubble hotels, Hrosshagi and Olvisholt. Both experiences were wonderful. A few of things to note… 1. Check in times are 5-8pm. There isn’t someone on site all night. Just be aware that you cannot check in whenever you want. Plan accordingly. 2. This is a very luxurious form of “glamping”. Each bubble doesn’t have its own bathroom. However, there are two heated bathrooms as well as a common area with two more restrooms and two showers. There is a small area with a sink and coffee pot and a table to enjoy breakfast or play games with a group. I’m not particularly interested in being without good accommodations. These were excellent and there was never any issue with the restrooms or showers. 3. Bring crampons/ice spikes. It can be slippery. Now for the good stuff… The bubbles are incredibly comfortable. It was cold when we were there (around 0 C or 32 F). The bubbles are warm and cozy. The beds were comfortable and warm, as well. They have a heated pad on there that you can adjust to make sure you’re warm. The experience was just like nothing else I’ve ever done. I didn’t see the northern lights at this one (I did at the other). But the views were spectacular, nevertheless. I slept incredibly well and made sure to just enjoy the night and the morning. There are several great things to do in the area. It’s not far at all from some fantastic sights- Secret Lagoon, Gullfoss, Bruarfoss, Faxafoss, Kerid Crater. Try the food at Fridheimar and Efstidalur. It was excellent.

The location is great, the room is very big, besides the lockers and closets, people in the empty rooms rarely experience a good and enthusiastic landlord, and the furniture and lighting are very tasteful. We really enjoyed our stay. I had booked a room with shared facilities, the first on this holiday. Our room was very small, but it did have a basin. There were two showers and two toilets, between 5 rooms. The nicest shower room was being used when I wanted a shower, and the other shower room didn't have a hairdryer, so perhaps they could add one in there. Other than the short wait it wasn't a problem to share. Most people checked out early, so we had the place to ourselves after 9am. The whole place was bright and airy. Breakfast was good, and there was coffee and tea in the kitchen area.
