It's clean and the food is fine, but there's no hot water.
It's far from the Ganges River, but it's nice and peaceful. The service and hospitality at the front desk was very good. Other than the hot water, there were no problems!

From outside hotel looks fine. They have two buildings and I got room in other building. I think the main building probably would have better rooms but in other building it looks that renovation is still going on.
Pros:
location is good. Assi Ghat is at 2-3 mins walking distance.
You can find eatery joints nearby.
Electric kettle is available in the room.
Room which I got was spacious and had balcony as well.
Cons:
I had booked room for 2 adults and 2 kids. Room was spacious, had bed, sofa and a setti. But bed was not sufficient to accomodate all 4 though when i booked room vis make my trip, it showed msg that bed is sufficient for 4 PPL but it wasn't the case.
Towels were provided for 2 only and not for 4.
No toiletries except for a toilet soap.
No hand towel. Maybe not a normal for a three star hotel.
Room interior looked old and rough and not appealing. There was a nail on side of double bed. Luckily, we spotted it else might have hurt kids.

The staff was extremely polite, prompt and helpful. However, the upkeep of the hotel can be better. While, the rooms and sheets are clean, the sheets may be old and tattered. Fixtures in the bathroom was creaky and loose. The ac did not have a remote. The tv would not turn on.

A relatively new hotel. The rooms are clean, but there doesn't seem to be much to do shopping nearby. There is a bus terminal nearby, but the area is not very safe. I recommend the hotel because there is a fairly good restaurant. I don't think they served alcohol, but it was very tasty.
I recommend taking UBER from the airport.

My family and I stayed at this gorgeous place for over a week and enjoyed our stay. The owner, Mr. Abhinav Singh, personally takes care of every need of the tourists and goes the extra mile to make sure that the tourists are comfortable and are having a pleasant experience. The property is very immaculate, and all the famous places in Varanasi are nearby.
Mr. Abhinav Singh helped us organize our amazing trip to Varanasi, and also our awesome journey to Ayodhya Dham and Vidhyavasini Dham Shaktipeeth. The staff and drivers are always willing to help with a pleasant smile on their faces, they all are very kind, cooperative, respectful and warm people.
I recommend this Hotel Golden Lotus Varanasi to everyone. I am grateful to Mr. Singh, all the drivers and the staff. Many blessings to all.

JJIMore than 400 stays, the door and a row of groceries paved together, the street is bustling. The surrounding environment is just like the chaos in other comments. I didn't want to get off if I didn't use the hotel's car pick-up. The room is fairly new, the shower switch is quite new, it is not convenient to twist, the hard hand hurts. I read the previous comment that there is no hot water. When I first tried it, I did not have hot water. It was a little warm. I tried the water temperature in the morning, noon, afternoon, evening, evening, and late at night. It seems that there is only hot water in the middle of the night and in the morning, and it is hot to the hot. I estimate that it is possible that the hotel's boiler capacity is limited, and there is no hot water when the water is at its peak. One thing to be reminded is that this hotel is a vegetarian hotel. No matter whether it is breakfast or Chinese, there is no egg, not to mention the meat. I don't know how the breakfast photos were taken when someone commented on it. Anyway, the hotel waiter said that there are no eggs. The hotel also did not have wine, but the waiter said that he could quietly send me to the room. When the waiter cleaned the room, I took away my personal toothpaste toothbrush. I called the room service to protest and knew that the situation would directly hang my phone. Stayed in the hotel for 3 days and used the hotel's car 3 times (receiving and sending local traffic). The first two services were very good. The driver was not easy. In the crowded road, the left and right sides of the needle were fully displayed to show the Indian driver's superb driving. Level. The driver of the third car was haunted, chatting all the way, keeping the speed at 20 yards, all the way was overtaken by other cars, and looked at the messy environment outside, I shrank back the hand that wanted to push the door. Fortunately, I have plenty of time to go to the airport. For the hotel to the airport pick-up and drop-off is 1000 rupees, I see a comment saying that I want 1200 rupees, I don't know if I am a big bargain this time.

GGuest UserNice place to stay in the bustling city of Varanasi, hotel is clean and all necessary amenities provide an excellent place to take a rest from the city that is pretty crazy. It is about four kilometers from the river Ganges. Breakfast is fine but not very extended, meals for dinner were good price wise.
The only issue we had was the way too loud noise of the air ventilation in the shower that took a lot of drama before it was turned off, a request that I had to repeat three out of four nights. Overall I would recommend this place though, it's professional and decent and an oasis compared to what you'll encounter once you get onto the streets.

GGuest UserInitially we found it difficult to contact the property, however after contacting makemytrip, the hotel staff themselves called us to know our check in time and other details. The staffs were cooperative enough to arrange for a pick up as the hotel is located in the famous gal-is of benaras. Also they communicated well with my parents and gave clear instructions to reach a place from where help was given. I booked saptarshi suites for my parents after looking at the beautiful balcony view. Indeed the room was very beautiful and the balcony view was great. The hotel staff were courteous and helped my parents with ganga snan, shiv-ling darshan, allahabad brahman when approached. Mr. Abhijit, the manager and kamlesh another very humble staff helped my parents throughout. The food and breakfast was over the top. They had a good portioning sense, sufficient for healthy eating by two people. Lunch and dinner was tasty enough. Areas of improvement 1. Since the property is built on an old building, regular repair work is required to get rid of damp. (the work was going on when my parents visited)
2. The washroom needs to be cleaned regularly because damp insects from the drain have a tendency to come up. Other than these two points, the hotel is a great option for a wonderful stay in benares
