Unfortunately, breakfast is average. The main reason is that the rooms are limited and there are not many guests. The environment is good, it is said that the castle is a bit fake, it should be called the winery hotel, because the wine production workshop behind the hotel.
Fairly inconsistent experience where some of the staff and the breakfast is the cause for stars falling from their 5-star sky. Some of the staff is top notch, and some I wonder what they are doing there at all. The cleaning staff for example are all wonderful. The SPA staff on the other hand barely look up when you come in, very few says good morning or hello and even less knows what a smile is. The breakfast buffet is a let down. Nice enough food but it is hardly a 5-star experience as the selection is limited. Now, dont get me wrong. The SPA itself is very nice. The hotel is clean, the beds are comfortable, the food is good and some of the staff makes up for the somewhat lack of attention from the rest of them. All they need to do is to train their staff a bit better, teach them that a smile carries a long way. If they were to send their F&B manager to a 5-star venue in Vienna, Prague or Budapest to get some inspiration, well, then perhaps the stars would'nt twinkle off and on.
Adult only 5 star Minaro Hotel Tokaj by MGallery is set among the vineyards in the UNESCO World Heritage region of Tokaj. Design is inspired by the former mine setting, while subtle touches reflect the history. The World Heritage Wine Museum and local wine tasting tours are within easy reach, ideal ways to spend time in the region. We are an hour drive from Debrecen International Airport, while Budapest Airport is 2.5 hours away. The hotel also boasts convenient rail connections with Budapest.

It was my second time visiting this Mercure hotel so now I can give a real, valid evaluation. The rooms, wellness, and surroundings all are such beautiful. I would like to raise awareness among the staff especially in the Winestone Restaurant and at the reception. Szilárd, Kristóf and Áron were playing an important role in raising our experience higher in this hotel. They are great people and last but not least professional waiters! Can not wait to come here again in the future!
