I'll start with the good - there was plenty of parking and the bed was comfortable! As for the rest of the Willows, the building is old, the inside is tired, run down and in need of complete refurbishment - as a bare minimum, the whole place needs a really good clean. The rooms and bathrooms are basic and at best functional. The carpets in the corridors are rucked up and serious trip hazards; the fire doors have holes in them where handles have been changed (what sort of fire door is that?). You get the gist... They are understaffed - we had to wander around the building trying to find someone to serve us at the bar on our first night. On the second night, there were just 2 young and inexperienced staff behind the bar despite there being a function for over 100 people. The wait was ridiculous, the staff didn't know their red wines from their white, and the drinks were overpriced - £1.70 for a dash of blackcurrant, £6.50 for a pint of beer! As for security, it's a joke. On returning to our room one evening we found that the cleaner had opened the window and left it wide open all day - and I mean WIDE open. Bearing in mind the room was on the ground floor, anyone could have climbed in and helped themselves to our belongings. The whole experience is one I would not choose to repeat. I have just tried to fill in the customer experience questionnaire, which Wyboston Lakes emailed a link for - but guess what... the link doesn't work! That sums up Wyboston Lakes and the Willows.
Very helpful friendly reception staff , we couldn’t get in the main restaurant so they called “The willows “ which was on the same site to make sure we could get food there and also watch the football which was what interested my son. Room was lovely, clean, comfy huge bed and lovely powerful shower in the bathroom. Breakfast in the morning was buffet, constantly topped up with fresh food. Lovely quiet setting would definitely come back but would make sure we arrived in time to use the pool.
I stayed here with over a hundred colleagues as part of a national annual conference. It was convenient having a room in the same building as the conference rooms as I did not have far to go at the end of a long day. There are a number conference rooms of varying sizes which was useful for break out areas/ smaller meetings. The phone signal and general connectivity is terrible and really let the venue down. Our plenary sessions were disrupted by videos that could not be played, poor audio and trying to make a phone call was very difficult. This really needs to be sorted. My room was basic but not very clean. There was a long hair in the shower, sticky bathroom floor with some suspicious looking stains. I asked for this to be cleaned on my way to dinner, returned to find it was exactly the same. All our rooms were single occupancy but the single beds had not been put together to make a double for more comfort, unsure why and when I requested this, it still was not done. The ventilation is poor, the smoke alarm went off as I dried my hair with the blow dryer. Staff turned up promptly to investigate and I overheard them say it was likely a shower that had triggered the alarm which suggests a known problem. As a mother reviewer mentioned the shower pressure is non existent, it was like trying to have a shower with. cup of water. The food offerings were poor and I was pleased to return home to my own bed after two nights. Next time I might be better off staying at the nearby Premier inn where some colleagues stayed.

The staff went out of their way to make our stay special. They made my hubby a marguerita cocktail for our anniversary meal, even though it wasn't on the the menu, and provided ice for my knee injury. Housekeeping kept our room stocked with all necessities, reception staff were warm, welcoming and friendly. Even the guy who came to fix our lamp was friendly and informative. Food was good, though could have been a bit warmer on occasions, room was excellent, though we did have the Kingfisher Suite! We paid a bit over the odds but it was worth it for the attentive staff and great service. I would visit again

Absolutely fantastic, i was a little dissapointed when I was placed in the coach house initially, but quickly changed to a wow, bed was so comfortable, decent pillows, a round top bath and shower, nothing at all I could fault. I opted for the bar menu and again wasn't disappointed, fresh ingredients superbly cooked and the taste was fabulous, I would definitely come back again, I'm not one for high scores but this place is a 10/10
The scenery at the door is very beautiful, there are rivers, parks, big geese, flowers and grass.
It is also convenient to eat downstairs, there are many customers, and the voice is full. The first floor is all a restaurant, and there are many tables outside.
But it's bad to eat downstairs to facilitate business. At 8 o'clock in the evening, I wanted to go to bed early because of the time difference, but my head kept buzzing, and my headache collapsed, especially lying on the bed. It felt like the sound of a certain machine, I thought it was a fresh air system. To the corridor, I found the whole corridor was this louder sound.
Knowing that changing rooms is the same effect, but I can't resist the enthusiastic suggestion of Miss Ctrip, I went down to the front desk. People say it is kitchen equipment. Ha! I can say that there is a problem with the structure of this house, and the resonance is so obvious. This is the rhythm that makes people stand in the room. The front desk said the kitchen would stop after 10 o'clock.
No way, go to the restaurant downstairs to have a cocktail, and stay up until 10 o'clock to go to bed.
In the future, the hotel should be cautious about this kind of large-scale restaurant on the first floor.
When I arrived the self-check in was fine but no map of the place or signage to rooms meant I had to ask other guests to direct me. There was no-one on reception or to be seen other than this kind couple. Later I went to get a drink and found that the bar was closed and had to order it after hunting down a member of staff. When they said I couldn't just pay for my beer but needed to pre-authorise my credit card for £50 (so I would need to check it before I left in the morning) I thought I would just go to a local pub and asked where I might find one. The main doors were locked and the only exits where via the car park or a dark scrubby alley. Needless to say as a lone female I didn't fancy this. I decided I didn't need a beer that much...I turned to go back to my room and a kind waiter took pity on me and got a beer for me and allowed me to just pay for it. No idea why this wasn't possible for the receptionist to agree to? Didn't love it. Maybe it is better on a week night.
Marcure Hotel is a nice place to be, the serenity of the place is awesome. Excellent staff support and breakfast was good. The location is in the centre of Bedford making it a very enjoyable place to be.
Though Car Park is paid for, but the experience is worth repeating.
