Find the Cheap Watford Hotels

Spacious room Upstairs on holiday inn The two hotels share elevators, parking lots, etc. You can cook your own food. There are several large supermarkets within a ten-minute walk around. It is convenient to buy food and come back to cook. The extra bed in the triple room was uncomfortable. The train station is 200 meters away, and the shuttle bus to the Harry Potter studio is sitting there.

This hotel is right next to Watford Junction station - an easy walk round the corner. (Check on google maps and take the short cut rather than walk along main road). The hotel seems clean and modern. It is obviously very popular with people visiting WB studios (which is what we were doing). Stayed in a family room set up for 2 adults and 2 children (7 and 4). The beds for the children are the usual budget hotel foldaway types and not very sturdy but fine for one night. The room was generally clean and well maintained. Breakfast was good with a moderate selection (not as wide a selection as Premier Inn but fine for fueling up before heading off to WB). The WB shuttle bus goes from outside the station so a 3 min walk back to the bus stop. Overall a perfectly adequate and well located budget option for WB stay. We came on the train from across London. If we had come in the car I would have chosen something outside of the town centre. If you are travelling with kids and hoping to eat out in the evening after you get here (which we didn't) then you've got a bit of a walk back to the main part of town with the shopping centre and chain restaurants. The only annoying thing about the stay was the noise at night - and it had nothing to do with the railway! We were woken up by talking and doors banging in the corridor a couple of times. Whether or not it was because our room had a connecting door to another room I don't know but someone's alarm went off at 4.45am and it sounded like it was in our room. Whichever poor person had such an early start on a Friday then proceeded to get showered and dressed in a rather loud fashion and felt the need to constantly talk loudly to the rest of the people in that room. That's not the hotel's fault of course but bear in mind this is a budget hotel and the sound proofing is minimal.

The hotel has complete facilities and a quiet environment. It can be reached in 5 minutes, and the main street where restaurants are located. It only takes 2 minutes longer to go to a large modern shopping mall, and the hotel staff are polite.

My line manager had booked the room for me as my IHG account wasn’t approved yet by my GM and I was greeted by Zahr if I spelt that right, I do apologise if I’ve spelt that wrong, he was very friendly, he did his job by trying to figure out if I was an employee of holiday inn, which he did his checks and my information had come back correct, I left earlier that night and come back and I was still greeted with a friendly welcome from him. It’s been a pleasure to stay with the holiday inn, my room was cleaned to perfection and I’ve had no issues, Zahr deserves to be employee of the month if that’s a thing here. Really nice and clean. Great beds. Plenty of room. Good shower. Perfect location. Polite staff. Value for money. Close to Warner Brothers and shopping centre. We only stayed a night and hardly touched down but it was great. I will always wonder why every hotel puts out just two teabags though 🤣

I like to stay in Hilton hotels and I’ve stayed in many up and down the country. Assumed this one would be just as good but I was sorely disappointed. 1. Front desk: did not ask if I’d stayed here before, didn’t give me any information about breakfast or where the restaurant or bar were 2. Is there room service available?? I asked the front desk through the app, had no response, nobody answers the phones. I kept seeing plates outside rooms so assume there is room service however there is NO information anywhere to be found. No menus, nothing on the website, nothing in the initial welcome screen on the TV! Also, I assume room service breakfast is available since I also saw breakfast trays in the halls, again no breakfast menus anywhere and no information about this! 3. The room: very outdated and again not the standard I’d expect for a Hilton. The radiator was on so the room was VERY hot, I turned it right down but it wouldn’t switch off. There was a fan which was useless because it was barely worked and when it did it blew hot air from the radiator around. The bed is not comfy and the pillows were useless, way too soft and not easy to sleep on The carpet was badly stained and looking old and the decor could do with being modernised. The bathroom was just as bad with a big crack in the basin and spider webs in the corners of the room… The hotel itself feels very outdated and drab and there is a real lack of information for guests regarding the amenities. I know we’ve been through a pandemic but surely now is the time to start bringing back some of those standards we’re used to, menus in the rooms (or even bring back room service if it’s gone), a warm cookie on arrival for Hilton Honors members etc…wasn’t even acknowledged that I’m a member

Myself and husband have just returned from a wonderful one nights stay at The Grove. Firstly huge thanks to Alex Bowman, Monika and Mia for arranging our great stay for my birthday, and post celebration after tying the knot late last year after 33 yrs. There’s a very grand approach to the hotel complex through the prestigious golf course, and on arrival we received a warm welcome at reception, and congrats from Ioan ( apologies for spelling) who checked us in and explained where everything was. Beautiful hotel with tasteful decor. Our room was also fabulously furnished with views over the splendid gardens . After unpacking, we steamed and bubbled our cares away at the steam room and jacuzzi in the stylish Sequoia Spa located in the hotel grounds. Feeling chilled we returned to our room to prepare for an exciting dinner in The Glasshouse. (I’ve reviewed that experience on The Glasshouse page) There was a little treat of yummy happy birthday chocolates and card in our room, thoughtfully left for me which was a lovely gesture. After an excellent dinner, we returned to our room to snuggle down, only to find the turn down fairy had been, and tided and refreshed our room ready for our return. After enjoying a really restful nights sleep, we awoke to the joys of knowing we had breakfast to look forward to in The Glasshouse again. After another delicious meal, we sadly had to prepare for return home. We again had a warm goodbye at checkout from Kiri and Nishat. We live nearly three hours away, but my goodness it was worth the journey to visit this place. We felt so relaxed, and chilled after our stay. Nice room, nice food, nice breakfast, nice staff, nice bar, decent pool (heated and clean but needs revamping) and nice grounds. It was very quiet as it was New Year’s Day but they still charged £10 for an extra hour at checkout.. otherwise perfect stay.
