Find the Cheap Walmersley Hotels

I stayed just one night at this hotel. The location is really lovely and I was met by a friendly receptionist upon arrival. I chose a small double room and whilst the actual size of the room was adequate, the rest of it was in need of a major refurbishment. Admittedly, my room wasn't expensive compared to the others, but that shouldn't mean it should be of a less clean standard. The bathroom was quite grubby, with a very rusted wire rack ,which quite frankly should be removed, and the corners of the bath and shower screen were just black and desperately need replacing. The room walls were scuffed and marked and quite a bit of grime in the corner near the luggage holder, and the bottom of the dressing table was dirty and they were spill marks as you opened the drawers. The carpet had also seen better days. In all fairness, I should have reported these issues to reception straight away, but I had to be somewhere and just thought, maybe it was because of the price? But on reflection, like I say, that shouldn't really excuse these issues. On returning later, I realised that the walls were paper thin , now obviously, I'm not holding the hotel responsible for noisy guests, but I've never experienced such thin walls, that I can hear the person in the next room coughing and their general conversation! I didn't use the bar or restaurant so cannot comment on those. So, overall I was disappointed, and do really feel that a complete overhaul is needed.

This is such a lovely place to stay, the reception team are very attentive and helpful, the rooms, depending upon the time of year you stay, are invariably brilliant, clean and tidy, the breakfast food, always lovely and hot. Disappointed with the state of the driveway, this is the only thing that lets the place down, beyond that, it is superb.

amazing hotel, brilliant room. i got a shot of baileys for 4 pound i would of thought it was a full glass but it wasn't. pool was amazing on our 2nd day there we went swimming for the 2nd time and we asked for a key for the lockers me and my gf got 1 each the day before but the next day only was given 1 and got told we had to go in the family changing room which was awkward since there was little kids in there. overall it was a good stay and would come back.

Hotel was just about OK. As others we found reception a little bit frosty. Pretty much all of the hotel is in need of a refurb. Room was OK, but heated by ancient radiator so very little control over temperature. Our room (9) was cold in the evening and hot in the morning. After a day touring returned to the room to find it hadnt been made up. Had to go down to reception for more coffee and milk, empty the rubbish bin and leave outside the room,(still there the next morning) and tidy bath towels and make own bed. Apparantly if you want your room to be serviced then you need to ask at reception. But then of course it would be useful if you were made aware of this fact on check in. Didn't eat at the hotel, so no comment on food service. I guess overall just about adequate for the advance purchase price paid for the two night stay.

Check in easy, lady on reception extremely helpful and polite. Observations Room 8 - doorknob and lock could do with replacing, a good tug and it could probably have come off in the hand. The bed is a small double and the mattress is a cheap one. Why hotels are not all using firm memory foam mattresses is beyond me. Quality of sleep is the most important thing when away. Thankfully only had one night here as my back would have not put up with another. Pillows (qty 3) were flat and provided little or no support and had to ask for another one which was provided but no better. No telephone to call reception even though the card in the room with information on tells you about phone. Fire escape picture not in a immediate location to see and when we did find it - it was not for that room!!! No plug in the sink. Only 1 bath and 1 hand towel provided for both of us. Had to ask for another set. Shower was ok when you eventually got hot water (had to run the shower for a good 10 minutes before any hot water ran through) - the shower was rusty and the tray that you put your shower things on had been broken off which left sharp exposed edges which could cause injury. Breakfast was nice but no alternatives were offered if you didn't want mushrooms (an additional item should be offered instead). Plenty of juice and drinks available along with cereals. Now I am no snob by any means and it should not matter how much or how little you pay for your room, you should get value for money. You should be able to have a restful nights sleep but this wasn't the case for us. I mentioned this to the chap on check out and he stated he would let the owners know. Before we left, a visit to the toilets was had, the ladies - well i have never been to a bathroom where you have to squeeze into the cubicle as they are that small that they hit the toilet!! On the back of the door was an advert stating it was the best hotel to hold a wedding etc and my first reaction was really???? Sadly I would not use this hotel again.

I remember visiting the Last Drop Village when I was little and I was enchanted by it. For my friend's 40th birthday I was struggling to find a place that could accommodate a room for three and also treatments for three people. (All other spas were only willing to book in multiples of 2). We got an incredible deal on the room, bed, breakfast and use of the spa. The village is still as sweet as I remember. The hotel and spa were so wonderful when I needed to change the date - it was no trouble at all. We checked in and out online which really suited us. The meal in the Courtyard was absolutely stunning. We had the braised rib/beef cheek and the salmon. The sticky toffee pudding was recommended and didn't disappoint and neither did the cheese board. The other highlight was the Thermal Suite and Outdoor Hydrotherapy Pool. I could have stayed there for hours! The three of us had different treatments and all were wonderful and bespoke to us. I had the ”Be Grounded” from Shaista which was so good I just wanted to be left to fall asleep straight after it. I didn't want it to end. The room was spacious - with a double and a single bed right opposite the spa entrance. We had looked forward to this weekend for such a long time and it really didn't disappoint.
