We arrived soaked after a lengthy bike ride and wanted to get into a warm bedroom as quickly as possible. There was no-one on reception and instead I had to wait rather too long for one of the overworked waiting-on staff to appear and check us in. The room was cold. There was no information at all so we weren’t able to get any heat with asking further. We were also advised to not even bother with the towel rail as none of them worked in the hotel. All far from ideal when you’re trying to dry out soaking clothes. The tap was very loose and worst of all there was a huge crack right across the seat of the toilet. Totally unhygienic. I mentioned it when we went down again and was thanked for telling them - but it clearly wasn’t going to be fixed for us. The room should stayed unused until it had been fixed. There was also only one, tiny shower gel and one tiny shampoo between the two of us. You get the picture. The food in the Seabed Restaurant was reasonable but was not a patch on the standard when we ate there last two years ago.

This is the most stunning place I've ever stayed. The room was nothing special, comfortable and well equipped with a good hairdryer. The views though. The dining room is an elevated glass-fronted platform looking out over trees, the gardens and loch and is spectacular, especially just now as the trees are changing colour. Staff were all super friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, and if you like seafood I'd recommend the Loch Fyne platter. The lobster mac cheese also went down well. The gardens and walks were good, with some amazing trees. The hotel has its own little island to walk round, with some enormous rocks and stony beaches. I'd definitely stay here again.
It is a hotel that is always used for business trips. The surroundings were particularly normal and the morning walk was comfortable. The bed was comfortable. The food is very good.
Stayed here at the end of day 1 on the Loch Lomond and Cowal Way long distance walk. My room was lovely - one of the front ones looking over the bay and the room itself was absolutely fine, well equipped and with a comfy bed. Goof food in the restaurant with a good few fishy options which were well cooked and presented. Breakfast was equally good with plenty of options featuring ultra fresh eggs from the hens that you could see running about outside the breakfast room! Overall, no issues and would recommend and return.
Being in close proximity with The Grey Gull Hotel I only envisioned the perfect venue for our upcoming group tour with friends and relatives. The big rooms afforded a lot of space and seclusion and everyone would be comfortable with the warmth being created. The staff was extra friendly, they made the whole experience even more magical and were attentive to ensure we both felt like fools in love. Alittle taste of comfort, relaxation and good customer service made this holiday memorable for us!! Of course we will be back again very shortly.
