Wonderful experience stay at that castle. We had dinner in the courtyard for a very reasonable price consider the food was of great quality. The health club had great facilities including a reasonable sized gym decent sized pool / jacuzzi. We would definitely stay there again as the location was great. The only minor complaint we would have is that the room was a bit cold but it is late January.
Working in the area I needed to book some accomodation. I discovered The Fox and Coney Inn. Lovely little place, nice bar and dining area. I could tell it was the type of place the locals like to go, bringing their families and dogs. Large selection of drinks, and very nice food! I stopped for 5 nights, then needed to travel home for a few nights but returned again for another 4 nights, once again as I was working in the area. On both occasions my room was clean, comfortable, warm and cosey. I have been working away a lot over the last 2 months in different towns and cities and this has been my favourite place to stay

Met by friendly and courteous staff at reception. Room was clean, and View was nice from the room. The shower was terrible! Luke warm at the hottest temperature and freezing when you turned the temperature any other way. We ordered food from the qr code for room service because my daughter wasn’t feeling very well, but waited over an hour and it never came. I tried to ring down for about 20 mins but no one answered the phone. I went down to reception and spoke to the lady who was very apologetic and explained that the app never works, if this is the case perhaps the hotel should remove the codes from the room and replace with a traditional room service menu instead! The lady on reception did all she could to rectify the problem and seemed to be used to this happening. Unfortunately because I had to wait so long for room service( was just meant to be a snack) I missed out on using the facilities so can’t really comment but they did look good . Breakfast was fantastic I have to say, well cooked and lots of choice, serve yourself which I enjoyed.
Stayed 2 nights in Aug 24 while visiting the area. Had a double room on the ground floor which was fine, except for the soundproofing. We were disturbed both nights by repetative slamming doors and banging in general, we were actually woken up because of it, whether we were just unlucky due to other inconsiderate guests or the hotel has poorly constructed walls, it put us off returning as we've had lovely quiet nights at a well known travel hotel. The gym was untidy and had no power for which I had to go to reception to report and they didn't even apologise. Despite the negatives the breakfast was good, coffee excellent, only suggestion is to put smaller plates at the hot buffet as parents were giving young children under 5, adult portions of breakfast which was just getting wasted not eaten down to poor parenting but this could be improved and less food waste if smaller plates were made available. We did not eat in at night as we felt £22 for 2 courses and no drink a bit steep so we went to a nearby family eatery for less cost. The water stations in the corridors are a great idea however the one near us didn't work for the whole time we were there.

We were a mixed group of lady cyclists plus support staying for one night. We booked Thyme Cottage, an apartment and a log cabin. This was perfect for us. The cottage has enough space for us all (7 of us) to relax and breakfast together. The space (inside and out) is much bigger than expected. All the rooms are beautifully appointed and the kitchen in the cottage is very well equipped. Very homely and comfortable. Beautiful views. Jeanne is a lovely lady - very friendly and helpful.
