We came here for our Grandparents 70th wedding anniversary party and stayed over night. It was amazing! The party was very well staffed with food being brought out promptly and cleared in good time. Staff were all lovely and more than helpful when needed. The green out the front was perfect for the little ones to have a run around and burn off some energy. We had a family room (2 rooms adjoining) and it was great! Lovely and clean, plenty of space for us all, comfy beds! The tea/coffee station was very generously stocked. We’d asked for a few extras (ironing board and iron) and the staff were very happy to help. Breakfast in the morning was great. Quick service and well cooked. All the staff in the morning were lovely and cheerful! Could have easily stayed another night!

Stayed for 2 nights at The Village Inn. Room was spacious and clean. En-suite shower was adequate shower temperature not great. But for £24 per night was great value. Can’t comment on other aspects of the hotel as it was all shut due to covid regulations.

From our first encounter with the ladies at the hotel Reception, Rachael, Karen and Margaret it was obvious that this place is special. My wife and I can honestly say that it's the Staff and People working here that are far above 5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. Ryan, with his professional manner and enthusiasm is a gentleman. Mandy and Tigan in the restaurant with smiles that would light up Antarctica in winter 🌞 pure angels. These are just a few of the special stars that make up the essence of this hotel. And apologies if we left anybody out. Having been blessed to travel and work as a diplomat most of my life, my wife and I can honestly say that this is in our top 10 locations in the world! BRAVO and gratitude to all who made our stay and celebration of our very special wedding anniversary so memorable. We will forever hold the Sixty-One Durham Hotel, in our hearts and memories. I came for the Abba night. The venue itself is very nicely decorated and gives a good impression. The ticket cost was great value for the food and entertainment. I have a dairy intolerance, which I let them know about when booking. The food served was fantastic, hot and delicious. The staff were very friendly and service was excellent. The singer Ellie was amazing, she had a wonderful voice and sang for over an hour with great enthusiasm and everyone was up dancing. The DJ also played some great tracks. Overall I had a wonderful night and would totally come again for a similar evening. Thanks so much Bowburn Hall.

We have had an absolutely amazing stay at Ramside to celebrate my 50th Birthday. We stayed in a treehouse which was utterly superb and took my breath away!! Beautiful interiors and furnishings along with wonderful outdoor area with your own hot tub and sauna...a truly wonderful experience. The service is second to none. The concierge was literally on tap to take you to and from the main hotel. Nothing was ever a problem. The main Spa pool had plenty of seating and limitless supply of towels, robes and flip flops to make you relaxed and comfortable. The Fusion Restaurant was fabulous too. 9 of us ate at the restaurant, the food was served piping hot in beautiful Asian inspired bowls and plates and looked utterly mouthwatering and tasted delicious, we couldn't fault it....The cocktails are gorgeous too I can highly recommend the strawberry breeze for any gin lovers out there! Wow!! A huge thank you, to the wonderful dedicated staff at Ramside, for making our weekend just perfect and one to remember...We will be back!!
