We stayed in Owl's Burrow the first weekend in January. Nothing was too much trouble, I preordered a bottle of wine for the room and it was ready and waiting, The check in was easy and the service was always incredible. The bar was very well stocked and the seating area in reception was lovely to sit and have a drink. 24 hour bar so we returned after a meal to have more drinks with the night porter, who was lovely and made our evening! The breakfast is absolutely fantastic, I would recommend it to anyone! Best scrambled eggs I've had! The room was really clean and everything was there you could ever need. Fresh milk, cold water, great toiletries. Room was a good temperature and a fan was provided. Bed was extremely comfortable and I had a great sleep. Good parking facilities too. We will be back!
The hotel is very clean. In the morning, I went to the restaurant through the beautiful English garden. It felt very good. In addition to regular coffee and drinks, the breakfast was quite good. The front desk is so-so. It is about 5-6 stops by rail from the University of Sheffield. It feels a little bit remote. There is a large supermarket/parking lot nearby. From the station, pass the supermarket back to the hotel. There were some fast food a few hundred meters behind the hotel, but we did not go.

环境:it's a little pub garden hotel. amazing you can have a cup of beer here after shower. i heard that it's livery when u moved in on Wednesday or Sunday. many people will drink here, play here also ******** if u like. quite nice
服务:people are enthusiastic

I wouldn't consider this a good stay, as I encountered several issues. First, the check-in process was a hassle since this hotel doesn't have a front desk. I spent hours calling the hotel, facing either ”Line busy” or no response after a long wait. If it wasn’t for Trip.com's customer service finally connecting with the hotel, I wouldn’t have known what to do. Second, the wooden door in my room was difficult to close; it required a hard push and made a loud ”bang.” The glass sliding door of the shower room was also problematic, it fell out on my first pull, and I'm certainly not strong enough to break a door with just one pull. Lastly, and most frustratingly, was the toilet paper situation. It was my first time encountering a toilet without a single roll of paper. I can't imagine what I would be if I hadn't brought my own in my bag that day. On a positive note, the room was well-equipped with a fridge, oven, heater, toaster, and even an iron, which suggests the hotel might have been quite good when the things are all good a few years ago, but not now.

SSean DavidA very friendly welcome from the staff on reception, very efficient check in. The hotel is in a pretty good location for exploring central Sheffield. Rooms are basic and the hotel a little dated but that is expected at this price point. Rooms are clean and comfortable enough for a short stay.

From the start, communication was great. So helpful being told about the car parks nearby and thank you for the discount code! Great location, right in the centre. 3 minutes from the car park was a great help in the rain too. Room is massive, so clean and everything you need. Plus extra tea and milk when needed, thank you. Staff are absolutely amazing. Quick and easy check in and out and thank you so much for fitting us in for breakfast too! Much appreciated. Sorry I can’t remember names, but reception staff and the lady in the restaurant were so helpful and accommodating. Great stay, will definitely stay again. Sadly didn’t have time to use the Spa, next time!

AAnonymous UserOverall, it was pretty good, except that the service staff was startled when I passed by, which also shocked me. They obviously lacked business skills. The breakfast staff always took away my unfinished food when I came to pick it up again. well.
GGuest UserThere wasn't much need for service with a one night stay but, it looked as though if needed, it was there. Location was OK if the canal side bars were accessible through the rear of the lobby but it was locked so had to turn a 2min walk into a 10min walk but not the end of the world. There were hairs in the bath and some rubbish in the corner of the room but other than that, all was fine. Loved they had an iron and ironing board but the cover was a little grotty. Overall, I'd stay again.
TTelekThe Rutland Hotel is conveniently located near to the University of Sheffield. Single rooms are not the best however double room are quite nice having a traditional feeling. However both kind of rooms are newly decorated so the rooms and bathrooms are quite nice. The breakfast is good as they prepare made to order eggs, hash browns, mushrooms and tomatos. Overall I like it and will plan to stay again.
GGuest UserSo after reading other reviews I was a little unsure what to expect after booking this hotel to be honest, however we were pleasantly surprised. We had a double room on the 7th floor which was very roomy, extremely comfortable king size bed, clean and tidy with everything needed (towels, kettle, iron, hairdryer) ample size bathroom which needed a little TLC but again was clean and tidy. Admittedly the let down was the breakfast that was included in the booking, this needs some attention as the food quality isn’t great and defo needs to be warmer with some more choice but all in all, did the job. Last time we stayed in Sheffield we at another hotel that had rooms like rabbit hutches and no windows and this hotel was better and will stay here again for a weekend when we are next in Sheffield
GGuest UserI booked a luxury spa day for 3 people. This cost £225. I booked this for my Mother’s 50th birthday. Upon arrival today I was disappointed to find that the “spa” were just facilities that were part of the hotel which any guests could access. This meant there were children tearing around, diving into the pool, unsupervised. This doesn’t fit the brief of “luxury” and it was not relaxing. The children were under 16 and were not supervised at all times. This meant that the pool was not able to be swam in because they were leaping around and playing. They also chewed off chunks of floats (that were provided) that then were just floating around in the pool. When it was time for lunch in your Lakeside View restaurant, we were informed that there was a wedding so we couldn’t eat in there. That would’ve been fine if there was a suitable alternative. There wasn’t. We were sat in what felt like the reception/bar of the hotel. Where wedding guests were milling around, so again, not luxury. The food was not what I had been told it was going to be. I was informed, when I called, it was a tapas style menu. The choices were dire and led to all three of us having a sandwich for lunch. Not really £225 worth for the food we received. Our starters came out after our main meals so we ended up with a table full of plates so there was no room on the table for any movement etc. During our afternoon, a large group of people (members of the public) came in and were behaving in such a way they ended up being told to leave the establishment. There were a few children and teenagers making lots of noise and setting off panic alarms in the changing rooms. They also left the changing rooms in a disgusting state, with towels strewn all over the floor. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the “luxury” spa day that I booked and paid £225 for. I was looking forward to a relaxing day with my Mother and Grandmother. We received the opposite. I feel it has very much ruined my Mother’s birthday. How can the advertise a “luxury spa day” for us to receive that kind of service! Appalled
IIt’s Me AntoVery close to the town centre. The lack of parking is not really up to the hotel since it’s down to the location, however. I would have liked some sort of parking discount to nearby parking spaces.
Good breakfast with a wide range despite being a “Budget” hotel. I was quite happy to see that.
