Find the Cheap Old Windsor Hotels

We arrived just as a Wake was gathering! Despite that, we were warmly greeted and shown to our room, which was as described, although looking in need of freshening up. We understand a refurb is planned later this year, which will certainly make the place more inviting. We did a lovely circular walk into Windsor, returning via the Long Walk with an exit just a few hundred yards from the Union Inn. As we neared the end we looked forward to showers, so were disappointed to find no hot water in our room. We reported the problem and staff investigated. After two hours we were told a plumber would be out after breakfast. Whilst this was a tad inconvenient, we were treated very well by the Landlady who personally cooked and served us breakfast; she introduced us to her delightful Kite feeding routine and for our inconvenience said there would be no charge for our stay. We offered to pay for breakfast, but she refused to accept. A situation that could’ve resulted in an overall bad experience ended with us booking to return again in September, when we’re promised the water will be hot!! Thanks for looking after us so well.

This hotel has a really great environment, very suitable for a leisurely vacation. It is about a 10-minute drive from Windsor Castle and Legoland. You can have all three meals there, and you can also have barbecue pizza with music in the garden at night. If you don't want to eat in the hotel, you can also walk out for less than 10 minutes. There is a restaurant that is frequented by locals. We ate grilled chicken and grilled ribs that day, which were both good. Worth recommending

This is a lovely hotel. The staff are kind and helpful, the food is excellent, the rooms are very clean and comfortable. My friends and I had a lovely time here. Breakfast was particularly excellent with the food cooked to order and therefore very hot and very fresh. It is a short walk to the castle and Windsor has some lovely shops and good places to eat. Just across the road is the Long Walk and excellent views of the castle. It is also very easy to travel into London from here.

We had a one night stay and have to say it was great! Stayed in a larger room on the top floor with views of the castle and Guild Hall, truly lovely. Plenty of room for two adults and two little boys. Very clean and comfortable. The shower was super as were the lovely smelling toiletries, really good quality. Excellent quality tea, coffee and Nespresso in the room (proper milk in the fridge!) We also had complimentary mini bar in the suite (soft drinks only) and because we booked direct 4 free drinks from the bar including alcohol-that was a lovely surprise! The service at check in and check out was prompt, professional and friendly. Breakfast was excellent, really good variety and delicious. The lovely lady (maybe Filipina-sorry I didn’t get her name) who was managing breakfast this morning at 7:30am was super friendly and an asset to the hotel, keep hold of her!! But have to say all staff we encountered were professional and friendly. Easy to park and £30 for safe, convenient over night parking isn’t bad for central Windsor. We are staying again in December and already looking forward to it! If you need to be in Windsor to see the sights and want them on your doorstep then you can’t go wrong with the lovely Castle Hotel.

It is very close to Windsor and the station. There is a restaurant just outside the door, which is very convenient. The hotel is very warm and comfortable. It is highly recommended.

The place to stay is not the hotel. The hotel said that the blue door in the back lane is their home. I think it is the A cargo room. It may be the same as the hotel itself. There is no elevator, and the luggage is really tired. So please pay attention when you book. Of course, the room is still big, and finally Ctrip also helped me coordinate, still very grateful to Ctrip, the service is good.

I was nervous about staying here because of a lot of negative reviews. They couldn't be further from the truth. The staff were very welcoming when we arrived the lobby /entrance was very clean with plenty of hand sanitising points. The room itself was very comfortable, clean warm and spacious with great shower and tea and coffee making facilities. The breakfast room was a fully stocked kitchen with do it yourself breakfast consisting of fruit, a choice of breads yoghurt cereals muffins croissants tea and coffee. It was very quiet considering its right on the main shopping street very near the castle and theatre with loads of eating and drinking establishments on the doorstep. We had a very comfortable stay and will most definitely be visiting again.

Sixteen of us arrived a couple of weeks ago as part of a wedding party, check in was smooth, a very special mention to ”Grace” on reception a very friendly person that went out of her way in every way for us, always had a smile for everyone A few people mentioned the breakfast being below standard, small plates etc. the plates might have been a bit small, but it did not stop anyone going back up again for a second helping basic yes but plenty of hot and cold food, delicious coffee from a dispenser Not sure if it was us or what? but they ran out of Stella and Becks and were never replenished for the following day pity really as there wasn't much choice of beers Our room was basic with a very comfortable bed with fresh sheets and a nice bathroom with a nice size walk in shower, cleaners do a good job no complaints there Overall, not too bad just basic

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The service is very good. The hotel has a large manor and it is very relaxing to ride a bicycle. Although it is expensive, it is worth it! 100 points
