Having stayed last year and given a great review, I can agree with all the comments about lovely staff, good quality breakfast and comfortable rooms. The location is fab and it’s free parking. I think we struck unlucky this time as Room 203 definitely needs some attention. The bathroom smelt of bad drains, the paintwork on the bathroom door was peeling, the shower panel leaked and the pressure in the shower was not great. We would also have liked a few more milk sachets and usb ports. I would still recommend staying but preferably in a room that has received some maintenance.

Lovely hotel. Great buffet breakfast. Lovely friendly staff on the desk. Executive king room was lovely and cleaned and replenished every day. Happily stay there again. One issue was parking as hotel car park was unavailable but an NCP car park is on the doorstep to use at a discounted rate but still worked out very expensive for 3 days. Would still not put me off staying there again.
I am from South London and had some unfortunate news my daughter at Nottingham University was taken into hospital. I rushed up to Nottingham to be with her and booked to stay at Jubilee for the night. I had to extend my stay for a whole week as she not getting better. The hotel was fully booked and this really stressed me out even more as I had nowhere to stay. In steps Lassad the duty manager. What an amazing, genuine, caring and helpful gentleman. Without hesitation he secured me a room for the week and went out of his way to make my stay as pleasant as possible given the circumstances. He checked in on me every day and you could see his genuine concern for and my daughter. I cannot praise this hotel, the staff and the warm welcome you get in a beautiful setting. Do not hesitate to stay here you will truly feel welcome. Thanks again Lassad and team, you will definitely see me again soon.

We stayed in the hotel over the weekend (Fri, Sat & Sunday) as we were attending ”The Gloworm Festival” with other family members who were glamping. The room was small, but was perfect for our activity which was get up, get ready, and go out to the festival! We slept like logs as the beds were nice and comfy. Using the bedroom as a base to be located in and to safely store our belongings was perfect. The TV in our room was the size of a postage stamp but who cares, we were at the festival. It fit the bill for our needs so we give it a thumbs up. On leaving we spent a few minutes chatting to a lovely staff member who brought some festive cheer to my mood (I am sorry I did not catch the gent's name but we will call him ”Santa Klaus” for those who know! But what a lovely man to have at the reception desk. Was it the best hotel I have visited, no. Was it the worst, no. But for our weekend it did all we asked for and for all that was needed. A safe warm place to sleep with safe parking and nice staff.

We went mid week for an afternoon tea with prosecco with our family. Carl looked after us from the word go. He was attentive providing us with impeccable & courteous service. Our food was very tasty, the portions were just right and the flavour combinations were both classic & unusual. Our chef Cristina came to introduce herself and listen to any feedback we had about her food offering...we had nothing to complain about, just praise! I wish more establishments did this.. A big thank you to all involved, including the lady at reception that helped me book it (sorry can't remember your name!).
We stayed I this hotel at the end of November as it is a five minute drive to city hospital where our son was a patient for a few days. The room was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The staff were very kind, friendly and professional and made a very stressful time much easier. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Really good value and a ten minute walk to local shops and main bus routes into Nottingham. We would definitely stay here if we go to Notttingham again

GGuest UserI came to the Crown Plaza, Nottingham for a conference early June. The hotel itself was nice, modern and comfortable. My room was not adequately cleaned as there were hairs in my shower upon arrival, unreplenished hygiene products in the bathroom and the toilet uncleaned. The room Itself was small, but fine for sleeping in. My TV did not work, but as it was one night this wasn’t a bother. The breakfast and lunch were great, formal dinner however was awful and poor, not worth paying for. Servers were unversed in allergen training, and the allergen and dietary requirement food options were awfully poor. The manager on duty however, was apologetic and wonderful. The best thing about this hotel was the staff (excusing F&B teams poor allergen training and food options). Particularly Abigail, Malakai and Zak on the bar who were so warm, polite and accommodating. Wonderful service throughout and a credit to the team. Thank you three.

GGuest UserI’d looked at previous reviews and wasn’t sure what to expect, however we were really pleased with our stay. Location excellent, staff very pleasant and helpful. Rooms, although bathroom a little tired, everything was clean. Bed was very comfortable and bedding nice quality. Nice touches included toiletries (espa) , kettle and coffee maker. We opted for the breakfast deal. Quality and selection of food both excellent. Would definitely book again.

AAnonymous UserThe room is very large and comfortable, the stay experience is not bad, the sanitation facilities are OK, overall it is quite satisfactory, the reception service at the front desk is also very warm, that is, it is a little tired to go out and climb the slope.

IIrwinGreat place to stay in Nottingham - the staff is really good, and it is conveniently located near the downtown, so close to public transport and Albert Hall/Nottingham Playhouse (if that is of interest - tons of good pubs nearby if your interests differ). The availability of laundry facilities is a real plus.

GGuest UserRoom very out dated and disappointing, loud bathroom fan that kept me up all night and no plug next to the bed (only on the other side of the room). Tea tray is tucked in to a cupboard with a false drawer so is dangerous when opened as you don't expect the whole cupboard to open on your arm. Breakfast was disappointing, both hot and cold selection were dry as if they had been sat for a long time. Not what you expect for £130 mid week stay. Only positive was the great staff at breakfast who were very friendly. Would not come back to this hotel if I was in the area.
GGuest UserIt’s very convenient to live in Mercury Hotel to plan a tour in Nottingham. Regarding the excellent location, I can only take 1-minute walk to the tram station named Lace Market, it takes you to Beeston or remote retail outlets within couple of minutes. Also, I takes leisure walks within few minutes to city centre for shopping at M&S, Primark, Victor Centre, etc. Besides, you may never forget supports/advice from the enthusiastic and knowledgeable hotel teams.

GGuest UserWe stayed for two nights in this hotel.
The hotel is clean and tidy.
The receptionists are nice and helpful.
Also, the price is reasonable and the breakfast is great.
However, the Nottingham city itself is ****.
We paid the tram fare buy still got the penalty and the appeal got rejected. The tram officers are rude and they do not listen to what you say.
It is strongly advised not to live and stay in Nottingham, unless you have plenty of money to be fined.

GGuest UserMy friend and I booked a spa break a few weeks ago as a joint 30th birthday celebration. Unfortunately not all of the experience was as relaxing as we would have hoped with plenty of issues to report along the way. Positives were the reception staff were friendly, the treatments in the spa were excellent, the toiletries in the room were lovely and the takeaway cups in the room were an added bonus. However much of this was overshadowed by issues during the stay. The hotel did not give a 4* feeling and communication was lacking from a lot of staff. Our main concerns were pre-booking afternoon tea but the booking could not be found, meaning we were left wondering what was happening in the bar. We were told by the manager that it ‘would be sorted’ but he disappeared and never returned again. Eventually another staff member offered us the spa lunch menu but it was a shame we couldn’t have the afternoon tea originally booked. We also waited around for a long time for this to be sorted. We found the spa facilities limited with no relaxation room. Loungers we’re reserved with little to no use throughout the day. The steam room lacked steam and appeared to be broken. Other issues included confusion with the dinner allowance as we were provided a full bill to pay in the restaurant. This was quickly rectified but then when checking out the next day, we were asked how we wanted to pay for dinner. The app didn’t work to check in and so we had to check in at reception, although the reception team were lovely and so this wasn’t a major concern. Perhaps the most disturbing issue was the state of the room with extremely dusty high touch areas including the bed side tables and a bedsheet with blood on it. When we called to have a new bedsheet, this took 45 minutes to arrive and we had to chase this. Overall it was nice to get away but there are clear issues with the communication within the hotel. It’s a shame it wasn’t quite as nice as we’d both hoped. We have had nicer spa breaks at cheaper hotels.
GGuest UserI really wish I'd paid attention to the negative reviews of this hotel before I booked. I paid £153 for a single night of misery here, when it seems other nights are about £35-40 -- but even at that cheaper price, I'd still avoid it like a plague. The hotel has no parking, and on-street parking was non-existent. The corridors on our floor reeked of smoke, with a hint of ********* smoke. On first glance, our room was fine. Decent size, big windows etc. However, closer inspection revealed: - red stains on the wall, that looked like some sort of jam but who knows. - brown stains on the wall, I shudder to think what these were - the tap on the kitchen sink was not securely attached to the sink and came off when i tried to use it - the shower cubicle smelled of raw sewage - the bathroom needed a deep clean, lots of (what looked like) pubic hair on the floor, and general 'shower gunge' build up - there was about 20% of a full toilet roll available, with no others provided - the bed was presentable, but had long black hairs inside and under the sheet - the sheet was way too small, and uncovered the mattress during use - the walls in the room were paper-thin Additionally, and I can't really blame the hotel for this, next door is a student bar that was very loud most of the night, but nothing compared to the people in the room next to ours that played very loud music until 1am. Not the relaxing night before a 13.1 mile run we wanted!
BBenjamin ArthurA lovely place. We we're a bit iffy on sraying due to the rating of the hotel but after reading the reviews most were about the rooms being dated. Since we were only planning to be there for a night, who cares?
There was an issue with the booking from Trip.com's side which the duty manager Declan was able to resolve in a timely mannor while also making the wait very pleasant with some nice chat.
The staff were lovely, including the two young ladys on the bar/food service as well as Declan. Unfortunately didnt get the girls names.
The building is stunning and surrounded by lovely woods, perfect for a walk.
Rooms are a bit dated, sure, but why are you looking to spend all your time in your room? More than enough to have a comfy sleep in.
Also as a side note on that, id imagine It's a listed building and so hard an expensive to update.
Overall a lovely night and a pleasant morning having breakfast then a walk. Absolutely would recommend.
