Find the Cheap Goldsborough Hotels

The market town Knaresborough looked an ideal stopping point en route to London by car, just off the A1 and with stunning views from the castle which was a stronghold of medieval kings, across the River Nidd and viaduct. It's also near Mother Shipton's Cave, named after England's most famous Prophetess who lived some 500 years ago during the reign of King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I. The cave is her legendary birthplace and near to a geological phenomenon, the Petrifying Well, England's oldest visitor attraction. Sadly, the weather closed in and driving down the rain-soaked A1, allied to an extensive delay because of traffic through Newcastle, meant it was closed when we got there. We had a walk but a chill wind forced us back to the Orchard Club Hotel situated near the centre of town. It's on the main road and easy to spot but finding the car park up a tight alleyway was a pain. We got there in the end. It is Grade II listed and was formerly the Newton House Hotel. Each room is named and styled with a particular fruit as its inspiration. Ours was comfortable if a tad old fashioned for our taste. It had everything you needed and we slept well despite our room overlooking a busy main road rear traffic lights. The breakfast choice was extensive and other guests were using it as a convenient location for touring to places like Fountains Abbey, the largest monastic ruins in the country, York and, of course, Mother Shipton's Cave.

We booked this B&B at very short notice and must say we weren't disappointed. Located in the heart of Knaresborough with car parking very convenient also very local to the many sights, restaurants and bars. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly with a good sense of humour but also very attentive and proficient. The rooms were very well equipped, we're warm and very clean. A very comfortable bed with nice duvets and comfy pillows made for a good nights sleep. Tea and coffee making facilities were available using fresh milk. The complimentary snacks were a nice touch. No road noise. A very warm and clean shower room with good quality towels and complimentary toiletries. For breakfast. A pre order form is requested the previous day with very good choice indeed, breakfast cereals and fresh fruit are available on the morning but we opted for a full English and must say it was one of the best breakfasts I have had in any accommodation, cooked to perfection and locally sourced. Ample supplies of tea, coffee and toast if required. There aren't enough of these little gems being preserved and this is one we will definitely be returning to. A great place run by great people. Can thoroughly recommend.

Just back from a lovely Bubbly spa break at The Bridge. Have been here a few times before and it has always been good value for money. Our package included an overnight stay, 3 hours use of the spa with afternoon tea and 2 glasses of fizz, a 2 course evening meal and breakfast. Check in was quick and easy, we were slightly early but our room was ready so were able to go to the room to prepare for our time in the spa. Our room was clean and modern with a decent size bathroom. The only negative was that it was very warm, even with the radiator and towel rail turned off. The spa staff were very friendly and welcoming and explained where everything was. The addition of 2 new hot tubs since our last visit was a very welcome one and the rain did not spoil our relaxation time. The afternoon tea was very nice but I don't think I would have paid the advertised price if hadn't been included in our package. We didn't have any extra treatments but enjoyed using the saunas, steam room and foot baths. We went to the bar for a drink before dinner. The person serving didn't seem to really know what she was doing and said that she didn't work in there usually...I'm pretty sure there was a similar story the last time we visited. Our evening meal was a carvery and whilst not amazing, it was perfectly fine and enjoyable. The sticky toffee pudding that followed was delicious! The dining staff were friendly and did a great job. Overall we had a really good short break and will hopefully return in the future.

Great location in the Moto services on a roundabout that leads to York, Wetherby and the A1M. Really convenient for going out. Loads of parking, although would be better if there was a dedicated area for hotel guests as the bit nearest the hotel seems to be where everyone wants to park, particularly vans. Basic budget hotel with tea and coffee facilities in the room, a TV and a shower room. Would have said it was clean until I found a babies dummy under the bed on the last morning of our 3-night stay. Odd numbered rooms face the car park. On the ground floor rooms from 021 to 037 overlook the grass between hotel and car park where people stand to smoke and everyone takes their dog to do its business. Got a bit annoying when people stood almost against our window even when it was open. Closed window pretty good at keeping out the noise day and night. Additional door in the corridor just before room 021 also cut down on the early morning shouting of people leaving their rooms. Room surprisingly quiet. Did have one issue but it was sorted out pretty swiftly by management with no argument, so can't fault them on service. Breakfast is available for £7 but not much variety. Some cereals, yogurt, fruit, cheese and bread/cakes. Greggs next door much cheaper.

A lovely venue in a picturesque village. An extremely warm welcome on arrival. Very friendly, relaxed atmosphere in the bar. Room was modern, clean and very comfortable. I arrived very late so missed out on an evening meal but breakfast was great with plenty of options, cooked to order. Would highly recommend. So glad I avoided the big chain hotels.

Beautiful, comfortable and beautiful. Across the road is a huge lawn! The room was a bit small but reasonably clean. The surrounding environment is great. The English breakfast was also delicious, I ate it for 5 days in a row. The dinner is also good, the waiters are nice, Service is nice. Many elderly people come here. The water quality is a few blocks behind London.

Wow! What a perfect stay! From check in to check out. We stopped here for the night to see Jimmy carr at the convention centre which is literally less than 5 mins walk away. Car park on site so that’s ideal. Checked in online the day before and the lady at reception upgraded us when we collected our key to a lovely room! Huge space, extremely clean and very comfy bed. The room overlooked the side road which is very quiet and lovely view seeing the leafy streets. The bathroom and shower was lovely and clean and quite a big space. Tea and coffee and biscuits in the room with sparkling and still water which was a nice touch. Tv In the room also with a safe in the wardrobe. We had breakfast the following Morning which was lovely. Nice pot Of tea and a very hearty full English breakfast which was delicious! Checked out and asked the lady if we Were able to park on the side street while we spent the day in Harrogate town centre and she said we were able to Leave our car in the hotel carpark Which was nice. Would highly recommend and I will definitely stop here again if we come to Harrogate again, which is a very nice place to visit.
