I don’t know how they do it, but the Coach and Horses manages to combine a quaint and charming environment with modern day comforts. Spotlessly clean, delicious food and a relaxing pub environment. We went for a 3 night stay over Christmas and we are so glad we did. The Wi-Fi was seamless, there was a hairdryer in the room, a full length mirror and a good selection of teas, coffees, hot chocolate and biscuits in the room. The beds were so comfortable and the rooms were warm and cosy. They thought of everything, there was Cornish bottled water, some lovely toiletries, ample clean white towels and an excellent rainshower. We spent the evenings in front of the roaring fire in the pub, and the landlord and landlady were friendly and made us extremely welcome. This pub is truly a hidden treasure, it’s full of history, but sympathetically modernised so its charm is retained. We had the Christmas menu on Christmas Day and the food was delicious. The portions were large and everything was fresh, it was the best Christmas meal I’ve ever had… I swear the homemade roast potatoes were cooked by a god… our sincere thanks to everyone at the Coach and Horses for making our Christmas so special for us all xxx

We went here for lunch after visiting the seal sanctuary, and were very impressed with the pub, staff and food. The roast dinner is definitely recommended....in fact it was one of the best we've ever had ! Plenty of meat and many different vegetables, all piping hot. Very reasonable price and excellent value for money. We will definitely return! Special mention to Riley, a very friendly and attentive young man.

Easily summed up……excellent location, service and food quality made all the more enjoyable by happy and super helpful staff and a great room with a wonderful view. In this day of mediocrity in the service sector this establishment is a joy to behold and deserves to do well in the future if it maintains such a high standard. We only live 30 miles away and have passed by the Godolphin on many occasions. Now we know what we have been missing. Well done and good luck in the future to this enterprising establishment.
