Firstly I want to comment on the quality of the hotel. The room was clean, warm, very comfortable and the shower was particularly welcoming with lots of instant hot water. The breakfast was freshly cooked and the food was tasty and of good quality. The staff in the small dining room were exceptional, friendly and keen to help - they are a credit to the hotel and indeed make it difficult to be negative about the hotel. My issue is the pricing. I was initially content to pay £305 for a room that was chosen by the bridal party as a way for guests to gather before the wedding and stay together. Imagine my surprise to find that on any other Thursday in October the cost would have been £205 - so rather than a discount or even normal pricing for being part of a wedding party we were subject to a massive premium on top of the normal pricing structure. So despite a very pleasant environment the trip has left a nasty taste and a feeling of being ripped off.
The seats are very good, very close to the castle, also in the city center, very close to the Morrison supermarket. There is a free parking lot, just turn left for two consecutive times, see the hotel name written on the white sign on the left, and then turn left. The aunt at the front desk has taught in China and also has grandsons of mixed Chinese and English, so I see Chinese people are particularly enthusiastic, the hotel restaurant is great, breakfast is a combination of buffet and order, which is relatively high-end. But the room is a bit old.

We had a really nice few days and found the staff really pleasant and happy to help you. The room was surprisingly large and very comfortable. The bed was good we slept well . The menu was very big and I had the Thai dinner and it was the best Thai I have ever had 5star to the chef
Best Sunday lunch. It was my brothers birthday and he asked for recommendations in Alnwick as if was a mid way point between him and his wife in Durham and their son and wife in Tranent for Sunday lunch along with other family members . Well this place was fantastic lovely cosy bar area with plenty of room. We were a table of 10 with one high chair and a dog. The staff were so welcoming nothing was a problem, the roast sirloin was to die for and there was a great selection of vegetables, roast and mashed potato, swede, carrots, peas, cauliflower cheese and red cabbage, also the most enormous Yorkshire pudding and plenty of gravy with an extra jug also supplied, others had the pork, ham and brisket all of which were delicious. We also had two very young children who had the junior chicken portions which were huge but they more or less demolished them. Everything was perfect, a big thank you to the chef, waiting staff and bar staff, we will be back
Rushed welcome after a 20h journey however in all fairness it was dinnertime and the restaurant was packed. Within 5 minutes, we were brought to the 2 bedroom unit, given a breakfast card to fill out for the next morning and left to ourselves to ohhh and ahhh at the coziness and cleanliness of all of the spaces within. Plush white bedding and pillows. Soft thick bath towels. Coffee maker with lots of choices. Cozy welcoming living area with large windows and view to the small park area across the street. Everything worked as it should and we had no issues at all. The location is second to none. A few steps away from the castle and the pretty town shops yet quiet and peaceful. We were there for 2 nights and had all of our meals at their gorgeous welcoming restaurant. Every single meal was ordered quickly, brought to us quickly and served with a friendly smile and a bit of a chat. And the food was so good! … I mean, really really delicious and surprisingly fair priced. I cannot recommend them enough, for lodging and food and location. The rest of our trip lodgings and meals were constantly compared to Dirty Bottles and hands down, nowhere came close even though of all of our hotels stays, this was by far the lowest priced.

Lovely setting and great central accommodation, beautiful old buildings and historical decor, lovely decor in accommodation, though few scratch marks need tidying in main bedroom, window covering needs attention as kept falling off but these are minor things didn’t distract from a comfortable stay.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Georgian Guest house in York. It was centrally located just outside the old city walls and an easy walk to all attractions. The host was incredibly helpful and the room was very clean and comfortable. We would love to return here

Alnwick Castle
陌陌染MMAvic Castle, also known as the Philosopher's Stone Castle, is the main filming location for Harry Potter's Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It was originally the castle where the Duke of Northumberland and his family lived. It is also the second largest residential castle in England and is known as the Windsor Castle of the North. Every winter, the owner and his family live in the castle, so it is not open in winter.
There is an Avic Garden inside. You need to pay a ticket to enter, which is charged separately from the ticket to the castle. Sometimes you need to queue up to buy tickets, so some people give up visiting the garden. Even if you buy a ticket and go in, you can only visit for one hour. After entering the gate of the castle, you can first see the vast grassland. Many children come here and run and play everywhere and have a lot of fun. The architecture in the castle is very distinctive and classic. On a door, there is a human skeleton with its limbs locked with iron chains and nailed to the door panel. Next to it is an animal head skull, with its eyes wide open and its mouth wide open, revealing long fangs, as if it wants to swallow people. Looking at it, it is also a bit scary.
There are performances at regular intervals inside the castle, including Harry Potter performances and band performances. After entering the gate, there is a notice board on the left hand side with the performance schedule. It is best to check it after entering the gate so that you have an idea in your mind, and then rush to the performance venue according to the time. We missed the wonderful performance because we did not check the schedule. The band played on the grass, with light English music and all the performers wearing traditional English dresses. The scene is worth seeing.
Edlingham Castle
淼淼淼0301This is Edlingham Castle, which is very large, and although much of it is worn out, the castle is still very strong and well preserved, the castle is very tall and it is amazing to stand on the castle overlooking the surrounding scenery.
Bailiffgate Museum
淼淼淼0301This is a local museum in Alnwick. This museum is quite large and looks beautiful. A large number of tourists come here every year. There are cute puppy patterns on the walls of this museum, and the museum has a rich collection.
Fusiliers Museum of Northumberland
__TI***n1You have to pay £28.00 to get into the castle so you can't just go to the Museum, Having served 22 years in the Army I begrudge giving one of the richest men in the Uk a penny I would have been happy to pay a donation to visit the Fusilier Museum.
