Amazing hotel, just perfect, the Michellen star restaurant had a stunning 8 course meal with wine, outstanding. The hotel itself has a nice feel to it, with a mix of modern & traditional. The staff are the most helpful & pleasant hotel staff we have ever dealt with, nothing was too much trouble. The spa is excellent and the massage very good. Pub area had great food as well with a nice breakfast. Rooms very spacious with good facilities. Very convenient for the Alsace wine route and located on the main Street of Kayelsberg which is a nice quite little town

Situated in the beautiful (but touristy) town of Riquewihr. It is located in the old town, walkable distance everywhere. We were located across the road from the main building, above the restaurant ( did not eat there). The room was spacious and provided all necessities. Reasonably priced. Unfortunately , the smoke from those stepping out of the restaurant drifted upwards to our open window on occasion. There is parking available for 12 euros, located about 400 m from the hotel. Would stay again.

When you’re booking a hotel in England you always think about bad weather and the fact that you’re likely to be stuck inside quite a lot. So you look for a nice lounge and bar as part of the facilities. In picking the Schoenenbourg for a three-night stay in June that was a thought that didn’t cross our minds. The lovely outside terrace and the pool seemed more relevant. They weren’t – it rained. Then it rained some more. That’s when we really appreciated the full facilities of this fabulous hotel. Rainy afternoons and evenings were passed in very comfortable surroundings in the lounge and we were kept refreshed from a well-stocked and reasonably priced bar. Throughout our stay we were well looked after by some of the friendliest (and entertaining) staff we have encountered in a French hotel in years. And in true English fashion we started each day with a sumptuous, high quality, varied and filling breakfast (scrambled egg and smoked salmon; mmm!). I honestly can’t think how you could find a better hotel in this area.

We were a short holiday in Elsa, as a big family at Hotel Alexain in Trois Epis in Elsa, and were happy around. The service was just top! The wellness area is small, but offers everything you need – Sauna, steam bath, salt cave and a swimming pool. Specially to highlight the incredibly friendly hotel staff. Eating was a highlight every evening! Lovely cooked and presents – really a pleasure! Although the rooms are rather small and have already come into the years, but cozy and clean. The bathroom was large and modern, which has really liked us. Another point of gain is the location. It is located between wine mountains on a height, it offers a view of the black forest and the Vogesen from the front rooms, the dining room and the terrace. Colmar is only about 15 minutes away. The hotel staff gave us great tips for excursions and special attractions. There is a large, free parking right in front of the hotel. We can only recommend the Alexain Hotel and please come back!

We stayed here for 4 nights in a one bedroom apartment. Travelling with a 3 year old child, the sofa bed was sufficient however I don’t think this would be big enough for two children or an adult. The kitchen was equipped with nespresso machine and kettle, but we had breakfast included so didn’t need to make too much in the mornings. Good sized fridge and dishwasher (bring your own tablets). Sleep quality wasn’t the best because it was very hot inside the apartment. The breakfast was good with a decent selection of cheese and ham, sweet pastries and cakes, cereal, yoghurt and fruit, and you could boil your own eggs. Good juice options and hot drinks from a machine. My son really enjoyed the swimming pool. Unfortunately we didn’t manage to try the sauna. Good restaurant on site for evening meals. Supermarkets a short drive away. Good location within easy (driving) access of Colmar and the pretty Alsatian villages.
