Find the Cheap San Juan de Alicante Hotels

The front desk people were very friendly. I speak little Spanish but some of the staff speak some English. The hotel is clean. Cleaning staff came in every day to make the bed, give me clean towels, empty garbage and do what ever other cleaning needed to be done. I enjoyed sitting on my balcony. There is a parking garage under the hotel where I was allowed to lock up my bike. My only suggestion is that a safe in the room would be a helpful addition.

After a disaster with Airbnb that placed us in front of the door without keys to access the accommodation, having to sleep 2:00 in the car waiting for a solution, we managed to find a room at 1:00 . We were out of a wedding and we were tired. In this hotel we managed to find a clean, welcoming bed. And our dear Ivan really welcomed us very well, listening, and carefully to our needs. Very Top!

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We didn't want to stay in the centre of Alicante but wanted to be close to the beach. San Juan beach is across the road/tram tracks and there are a few beach restaurants/bars along the beach strip. These restaurants mainly serve Mediterranean cuisine and seafood, and we ate at Casa Domingo which was great. There are also bars and restaurants a few streets away from the hotel among the residential area. We spotted some sports bars, burger places and pizza places around that area. The hotel grounds are lovely with a nice garden and pool area. There is also a pool bar and music playing while you lounge beside the pool. The hotel had outdoor bar and restaurant seating areas which was lovely at night and for breakfast in the morning. We ate tapas in the restaurant a few nights and enjoyed the food. The breakfast selection was really good, a mix of hot and cold foods, breads, fruits etc and I enjoyed the lovely cold Spanish omelette slice every morning!! There is a Consum supermercado about a 5 minute walk from the hotel, and a pharmacy too. The supermarket is quite big and has everything you need. Our room faced out the front of the hotel and we had a pool view as the pool is across from the front entrance to the hotel. The balcony was nice and clean and we could dry our towels on the railing. The room was nice, clean and modern and the air conditioning was amazing during the 30+ degree heat. There's a fridge and a kettle so it was handy to keep some drinks chilled. Our only quibble was the shower was missing a door so it was impossible not to get the floor wet, even with the floor towel. It's not a big issue but the hotel should really have a shower door to avoid unnecessary damage to their flooring. The reception staff were really nice, as were the restaurant and bar staff. The tram stop to get to Alicante city centre is about 5 minutes away from the hotel. You can pay on the tram by card and can select English on the machine. It's about 2.90euro to travel to the city centre and takes about 15 mins. It was a really nice location if you want to spend time by the lovely San Juan beach or by the pool. If you do want more action at night, the tram will bring you to the city and taxis are reasonably priced. I would definitely stay here again!

We have visited the hotel twice, and sorry to say - we will never come back. The hotel has some loyalty clubs – which we joined at our previous stay. At that time this was new to everybody, and the hotel had a hard time explaining the rules. Now, 18 months later, they still don’t know how this should work. This time, after complaining several times, we were granted 5% of our stay as promised as “points to be spend at the hotel”. But most of the staff don’t know how it works: We were rejected twice in the bar when trying to use our points, and finally we had to use it in the Spa instead, which was indeed not part of our plans. Even in the Spa, after making an appointment through the reception, we were rejected by the first employee we met. But we ended up being allowed to use our points. During all this, we have tried to get in touch with management. But management in this hotel is invisible, they don’t seem to care about their guests at all. Since our last visit, the hotel has closed their fitness room, the restaurant is (permanently?) closed, the outdoor swimming pool is occupied by ducks – and nobody cares about removing duck droppings in the water. You cannot book any bill from the bar or Spa to your room – nevertheless they demand a credit card upon check in. Should we say something positive – if you play golf, it is close to the golf course, and the employees in the undermanned reception do their best.

The biggest advantage is that it is very close to the beach, just a few minutes' walk away. There are many bars and restaurants nearby, making dining very convenient. The room is very good, the balcony is very big, and you can see the sea from the balcony! The only problem is that the bar next to it is a little noisy at night, but it doesn't matter to people who are not sensitive to noise.

Our room had bed bugs, room Service skipped our room 2 times. When they actually do room service. There was black hair everywhere. Other rooms had a phone we did not. I feel like got one of their worst rooms.. but i would go back just to see if we had a bad room. Cause the staff is nice and the hotel “feels” great and has a great location!

LOCATION 4/5 If you want a cheap and cheerful hotel to rest your head and a base to explore, then this will be the place for you. I wouldn't want to stay here for a week but its ok for a few nights. Located a 5 minute walk from the beach, its in a good location with plenty of restaurants down at the beach and nearby. This is not in the hustle and bustle of the city centre and so if you would rather be more central then you could stay here and get a bus/tram into the centre. Its about 1.5 hours to walk from here to the castle near to the city centre or 20 mins by car. FACILITIES 3/5 The facilities at the hotel are pretty basic. There is one outdoor pool (not heated) with sun loungers, on site restaurant, gym and sauna, the sauna was not in use when we stayed and the gym is pretty basic. There is however plenty of gyms to use along the beach front if you want to get some exercise, along with beach volleyball, football and other activities to keep you active if that's what you like. The pool as stated is not heated so pretty cold but that can be welcoming in high temperatures but not so good for an early morning dip. We visited in September so out of season and there were plenty of free sunbeds, however I can imagine in summer season you may struggle to get one. I also found that the pool was over run by children, even when visited out of season, so if you don't like too many children I would avoid this hotel as it is very family friendly. ROOM 3/5 The room was adequate with a comfy bed, all be it the beds were just pushed together and moved about a lot and i ended up falling down a gap in the middle of them. Aircon was good as was the shower, whihc was hot and powerful. Clothes line option in bathroom to hang your wets and a standard low powered hair dryer provided. No tea and coffee facilities in the rooms, but there was a small fridge to store your bottled water. You are not allowed to consume food and drink on site note bought there so not sure what else they expect you to store in the fridge. Electronic safe in wardrobe was easy to use and free. The windows could be opened and in addition to air con is a ceiling fan if you are not a fan or air con. STAFF 4/5 The staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful and welcoming. No issues at reception or in the restaurant. We asked several questions during our stay and they were very accommodating in helping us. FOOD 3/5 The breakfast buffet is standard for Europe with some hot options and continental breakfast, cereals, fruit etc. The quality of food is ok and like I said at the beginning this is a cheap and cheerful hotel, you pay for what you get so don't expect amazing food quality. There is no allergen information so this can make things difficult if you have an allergen and you may have to ask staff to assist you with what you can and cannot eat. The room was opened with a strong smoke smell that was increasing when it entered and was unsupportable in the bathroom. We call the responsible (nobody in the reception, it's all automated), requesting a change of room. Once there he excused saying it was “a ventilation problem” and that he would not give us another room, nor a financial compensation or any other alternative. The room was paradoxically full of signs of banned smoking under a fine of €100, but no one was going to check it. We then request the complaint sheet, denying it at that time because it is not available in the establishment (with a obligation to do so), so we have to warn the police to come to our help. Thanks to the police, despite repeated refusal to go to collect the said sheet, and under a warning of law enforcement, they went to collect the sheet of complaints. In addition, the location is not the quality-price, being a disorbited price (100€), a place away from the center, without reception, without possibility of breakfast, badly soundproofed The hotel was very comfortable and very comfortable.
