From the moment we received a warm welcome on arrival, we realised that our comfort and enjoyment was a priority if the staff. Our 1st floor room was spotless, with regular clean linen and towels as requested. The rooftop terrace is a bonus, with plenty beds, parasols and all day sun. The main pool, unfortunately, loses the sun from 3pm at this time of year(October). It is literally 2 minutes' walk to the beautiful promenade, along which you can walk towards Maspalomas or left towards San Augustin. The restaurant serves quality and plentiful food but there is a slight issue with labelling : a number are not labelled and not always obvious what they are. Additionally, not all cooks are aware of ingredients of certain dishes, which in our case, could have been an issue with allergies. The head chef, however, was most helpful in resolving our issues. Reception staff were particularly helpful, and I must mention Africa, who helped me daily with my Spanish grammar. We will certainly return to this hotel when we visit Gran Canaria
This time, I booked two five-star hotels on the island, both of which are owned by riu. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages. The desert is right next to it. The sunset is particularly beautiful, and the hotel staff are also very enthusiastic. The swimming pool is a saltwater swimming pool that feels like swimming in the sea, and the room is not bad. Mine is a pair of two single beds put together. You can also note that you need a single bed. There are a complete range of food and beverages, and you really get what you pay for. The hotel is not too big, but although the sparrow is small, it has all internal organs. The only thing is that when the wind blows near the desert, a lot of sand will be blown, but it doesn't matter if you go back to the room and take a shower. There are buses and taxis outside the hotel, the transportation is convenient, there are restaurants, bars and shops everywhere, and it is a very mature place for vacation and tourism.
A fantastic mix of modern and old. Some areas had been updated and modernised while some other areas were still dated. Room was clean and spacious, with a small balcony overlooking the pool. Bathroom was good with a shower that had 2 head options. some good complimentary bits in the bathroom, tea and coffee facilities in the room. The bar has half self service half barman, everyone was polite and friendly. The “snack bar” which is actually a room was by far the best I’ve seen. Actual restaurant meals were ok, but nothing special. Unfortunately desserts were a massive let down l, one evening there were 5 chocolate flavour puddings and the only alternative was strawberry mousse, so maybe a little variety would help. Breakfast was good and plentiful

Great hotel in Playa d‘Ingles. Superior hotel with a stylish interior. Great and nice staff. Excellent breakfast buffet in the roof top restaurant with a stunning view. Free parking offered. A lot of restaurant and bars are located in the Yumbo Center, a few minutes by foot from the hotel. Pools are heated and there was always free sunbeds available. Rooms are big and cleaned. The hotel is well maintained.
Just returned again from Sandy Beach brilliant hotel, best Ive ever stayed in. All the staff are excellent and very helpful. Rooms are brilliant and beds so comfortable. Food is excellent. You couldn't ask for better food so much food. Im a fussy eater and there was so much choice. The young man at the restaurant saw I was on a walking stick and made sure I got a table near the buffet and made sure I was looked after. He was so nice and charming - please give him my sincere thanks. The only complaint I can make and its not about the hotel as its perfect - a lot of guests were at the buffet pushed and shoved even though they could see I was on a walking stick as they couldnt wait to get to the food and didnt care who they pushed out of the way think they were German. Many guests didnt dress according to the dress code for the eventing meal wearing shorts. I know this isnt the staffs fault its the guests they just didnt care. You cant fault the any of the staff at the hotel Dominic on reception was extremely helpful showing me the garden terrace room which I will try and book on my next trip. I apologise to the cleaner she was so nice and I forgot to leave her a tip which I felt guilty about but I was rushing to get out for a early pickup. Cant wait to go back its a brilliant hotel. If any one reads this please feel assured that you will get the best treatment at Sandy Beach its close to all amenities and everyone is brilliant. They even took my suitcase to the room on arrival. Thank you so much for another brilliant holiday.

I'll start by saying the hotel is lovely. Very clean. Good layout. Very good rooms with comfortable beds and good bathroom facilities. As 2 vegetarian/pescatarians, we ate very well all the time. Anyone writing bad reviews about the food should check in advance that their specific needs are catered for. I'm a fussy eater who is not very adventurous and I had no problem at all. There is food available all the time at the snack bar, so if you miss any of the allocated meal times, you don't have to go hungry. Drinks are all good. Like any all inclusive, you notice the difference in strength when you go outside of the resort and pay for drinks. It is worth noting that all cocktails are none alcoholic but the staff will gladly add your choice of alcohol when you ask. We never waited long to be served with drinks, even at busy times. I have to be honest and say that the nightly entertainment was poor, and actually annoying after a while. A group of youngsters dancing and miming to soundtracks from films and musicals. No karaoke, no disco, both of which might have made a difference and given some variety. Our biggest issue was not the fault of the hotel or staff but the other guests. Mostly very rude people with no consideration for anyone else. We didn't go to make new friends but to be civil and well mannered costs nothing and makes everything nicer. This is not aimed at any particular nationality as this was the case with people from a variety of backgrounds, including British. People would push in front of you in the dining room, as though the food was going to run out, when there was always plenty. People would stand, chatting in doorways and openings and not move to let you get through. There were times in the afternoon when I sat in the snack bar to read quietly and people would just come and sit at the same table and begin talking loudly among themselves. It appears that rudeness in society has a knock on effect and so even nicer people become the same way retaliation and it creates and generally hostile environment. Where I completely respect the laws on smoking and vaping, I did find it ridiculous that I couldn't just enjoy the odd vape in quiet, open air spaces. Not all, but some of the staff, would politely point me toward the smoking area having seen me take ”one” puff from my vape in places that were nowhere near anyone else. Others would just overlook it when they realised it was a vape, not an actual cigarette, especially as I only puff on mine moderately and don't create huge plumes of vapour. Overall though, I found it most ludicrous that the ”smoking area,” was located right next to the children's play area. I do recommend this hotel for good value, a clean, safe environment and good facilities, just be prepared to share the place with a lot of greedy, ill mannered guests.
>Great, Immaculately clean, modern with lovey staff, good location. Recently (in the last year?) refurbished so everything is CLEAN and Modern. Both Rooms and grounds (inc neat AstroTurf that was very clean and slip free!) Table and chairs outside your door semi-private (some rooms surround the pool) Sunchairs around the pool (but still some 'towel savers' occurred-BAD!!) Big Warm proper swimming pool Big bedroom with mini fridge, Big clean bathroom with double walk in shower, very Hot and powerful water (rain and wand in the shower). Both rooms were modern, clean and fresh. White all round. Good comfortable (double) twin beds Very efficient air conditioning Big double wardrobe for hanging with hangers provided Kettle and Cups (some coffee pods upon arrival) Powerful Hairdryer Room was cleaned every day to a high standard (hang request tag on door) Grounds were cleaned every day ALL staff smiley and happy Reception staff said hello and acknowledged EVERY time, and were VERY helpful. Good, Quiet location Adults only resort so was quiet and peaceful why the minus -1 The safe is Three Euros PER DAY to hire (Expensive cost over two weeks -bad impression). The walk in shower needs a water lip, but the floor towel stops the trickle of water Sly News is the only British speaking TV channel (dozens of German!) Interconnect door (between adjoining apartments) whilst key locked it would be assuring to see a physical bolt lock on the door. Wifi was free and worked (eventually with help of the staff!) but was a very over complicated way to sign in >Sunbeds around the pool were' blocked' by the usual anti-social towel hogs - these SHOULD be removed by staff as there are not enough sunbeds on a sunny day. SUMMARY: The rooms and complex were on par with Four Star hotels we've stayed in Remove the silly little things (safe hire Fee, Retune the TV etc, stop sunbed blocking) and this would be a straight 100% tip; do not book with ******* as their fee does not include breakfast WOULD recommend to stay again :-)
