Very, very good hotel, top 1, many swimming pools, many fun activities, snow top coffee yyds, breakfast and dinner are buffets, the hotel has many families with children
Great location but the hotel is too dark, and lacks any atmosphere. There is no information pack or anything in the room that explains about the hotel and what is available and I thought this was very poor for a so called 5 star hotel and I have never experienced this before. The de luxe double room, although a decent size is a terrible design - you go to the seperate toilet (next to a great shower room)and then you have to go to the sink, which is in the middle of the room by the wardrobes. How unhygienic is this!! Despite paying over £3000 for a 7 day holiday, this hotel charges you for the large four poster style beds by the pool if you use them and if you use the roof top beds and infinity pools, that will also cost you 50 euros per day. They had an A la Cart menu in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner but this was very poor. 4 times in seven days they had no Advocardo’s. Twice I asked the chef at the buffet counter what the fish was and he did not know. Signage at the buffet counters is very poor - these were often mixed up or not there at all. If you have a severe nut allergy this hotel is not for you. They have a dress code in the restaurant in the evenings, but this is not in force, as there were many occasions where men were allowed in wearing shorts….so no dress code at all! They have a decent sized gym, but it’s right next to the smoking area. Smoking is not permitted in the bedroom and balconies we were told yet nearly every evening we could smell cigarette smoke if we left our balcony door open. Complained but no action was taken. As far as I can tell by reading all the reviews for this hotel, some of the complaints that I have made have been made by other people, so the company is clearly not acting on these. This is why I have only given them 2 stars, which is very poor for such a great location. Change of management needed clearly!

Yesterday, I just arrived at the time and I couldn’t decide whether to book this for three days. I originally decided to bring the baby before leaving or to come by myself. Because it takes four hours to fly in Geneva, I am afraid that he will not be able to make it on the plane. [Laughing R] [laughing R]j hotel half bag, Just say that you have to pay for breakfast and have a late lunch. [Like R] Thank you for upgrading my room and allowing me to have a small swimming pool with my own slap. This hotel has two large pools and a children's pool, the hotel is not very green and looks very clean. Three restaurants, buffet, Spanish restaurant and a Fusion restaurant. The buffet is not booked, the other two have to be booked in advance but it is also free. The back door of the hotel can be directly connected to the sea by brushing the room card, or you can go to the seaside. They are restaurants, bars and shops. You can imagine how lively it will be during the peak season. And this street is so long that you can walk 40 ➕ minutes while walking, eating and drinking all the way. The roadside is a five-star hotel. You can see the swimming pool and restaurant of other hotels. You are ready to change to a hotel next time. [Laughing R] c The food is not bad, it is still very cost-effective compared to Switzerland, and the taste is good, I am satisfied [Laughing R] The front desk will give a map when checking-in, It’s quite convenient to want to go to traffic. [Come on R]z Overall, it’s not bad. It’s recommended [okR]

First of all, the place is very big, and different accommodation units are next to each other. We arrived in the early morning that night. If it weren't for the porter's guidance, I would have gone the wrong way.
There are several restaurants and swimming pools in the resort, and it is next to the beach. There is a bus terminal outside, which is very convenient to go out. Famous scenic spots and shopping centers are very close and can be easily reached on foot.
The sun on the island is very strong, so you must take protective measures.
We were reallocated to this hotel from Riu Palace Maspalomas as the room we were in at Riu Palace Maspalomas was infested with COCKROACHES and the hotel was full. We arrived at Riu Palace Meloneras around 12.30/1.am and were very tired. The first room we were allocated to had a cockroach in it so Rene the evening manager said he would find us another room. We waited in the corridor outside the room for which seemed like ages talking to a security guard while Rene looked for another room. Eventually a room was found. Rene said he and another staff member had checked the room throughly. We went to bed having checked the room ourselves. In the morning we opened the curtains to discover we were totally overlooked by all the other apartments. We had booked a sea view room. We went to reception and spoke to Nieves the female manager. We found her to be abrupt and unsympathetic about the room and the cockroaches we found in our room at RIU PALACE MASPALOMAS. She said Gran Canaria is a sub tropical country and couldn’t promise we wouldn’t get a cockroach in a room here at RIU PALACE MELONERAS. We understood that and she did agree that the 10 cockroaches we found in our room at RIU PALACE MASPALOMAS was excessive! Re the room we had been allocated at Riu Palace Meloneras she said we would not get the same standard of room that we had in Riu Maspalomas (which was a sea view) and as we had paid for a sea view they would refund the difference. She said they were busy and could not promise that a better room with a sea view was possible. After the noon check out from other guests we expected to have heard something re a room change. We waited until around 1.pm. Nieves had not got back to us so we booked return flights home. We went to reception at approximately 1.30pm to inform them we would be checking out the following morning to then be told by Nieves another room had been found! Actually we did not regret our decision as the morning of our check out there was broken crockery in my breakfast! The broken crockery cut my tongue. I spoke to the kitchen manager who apologised and said he would speak to the chef. I have to say we found Rene to be the most likeable, charming and sympathetic man. Read less
This is a very pretty, clean, well cared for hotel. The staff are always very helpful especially the pool bar/restaurant staff. Reception is closed at 4pm so cant comment on. Cleaning staff work hard all day long. Quiet hotel. Always sunbeds available. A bit too far out for us as a family. No bars or restaurants near by so just as well the food in the hotel was good. Had to use taxis to see a bit more and go down to the beach, 8Euros each way. The apartments are spotless but uncomfortable for a family. would suit just couples. Bed in bedroom ok but the 'sofa bed' just awful. Not fit for any kind of comfort even for children. who wants to sleep near enough on the floor for an entire holiday? Accommodation for 4 should not mean one sleeps on the very hard sofa and another sleeps on a bit that pulls out from underneath. The room is not big enough for this anyways. Air con only in bedroom (but is pretty good) so whoever is unlucky enough to get the living space will cook! And the lights shine right through the kitchen window so not the best to try and sleep, i had to cover it with a blanket. The kitchen is well equipped but don't expect to cook even the smallest of snacks without it being somewhat difficult due to space. Just a hob and microwave no cooker. Obviously nobody wants to cook full on meals when on holiday but if you have fussy kids who like what they like it can be tricky. We had a very nice week at this hotel because we made the best of it but due to comfort levels and location i'm glad it was just a week.
Nice clean accommodation, great little balcony and air conditioning in the rooms. My only gripe was the food - same every day with no real variety. Also, the mini club wasn’t advertised one time since we arrived. Usually they come round shouting and asking if kids want to join in, but nothing! Mini disco only two nights out of the seven we were there and entertainment started too late for the kids to enjoy. No inside entertainment, only on the upper pool area which is very chilly at night and not somewhere to sit and relax with a drink. Nowhere near the standard of rival iberostar hotels on the canaries, but a good place to go for the weather nonetheless! Loved the area and friendly locals. Not a fan of the cockroaches patrolling the toilets and outside eating areas.
