Stayed here for two separate nights as part of visit to Helgoland. What an amazing hotel. Rich in history and great artefacts it is really interesting to wander round. The rooms were great and the food for breakfast excellent. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and efficient. Great place to stay
A night in Hamburg and booked via the Secretariat! Should be near the central and well reachable within the overnight standard (as a predetermined option). The Milano is actually a pension (formerly a residential house with 12 rooms). No lift and three floors. I had my room in the third floor (with laptop bag, small bag, small bag with extra shoes, keys, mobile phone what to say). The door to the room went up in the hall and unfortunately on the halfway a little hesitant (because the tape). View into the room: 1. bed 2m x 80cm left 2. The closet was only the front room and the right went to the main room with double bed, TV and a small balcony. The right to the bathroom, which was newly designed and mostly clean. The shower is very clean (i.e. without fungus & Co.). Breakfast: Something habitually needed as I am a coffee drinker and here like a latte Macchiato, this was unfortunately not eating and the filter coffee was not recommended right (then rather a tea, however, I don't like). Concluded: For business travellers with ordinary hotel chains, the hotel is usually needed for the first time but the location (only 10min to the outer elderly) and 35min to the port city, the top is when you see the price performance ratio. There are also two tank stations (24 h open), REWE and Lidl right around the corner, as well as some good restaurants and the UCI - cinema. However, it is clear that the parking situation and public transport - connection is not possible. Since there was a Holiday Inn next to our central, I would prefer this to Milan. Also or just because of the atmosphere at breakfast and the selection, lift naturally and parking.
We came here on a stag do. In a pretty rough area of Hamburg, so had low expectations The hotel was AMAZING. All of the staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly. The bar is a great place for a drink and the barmen make the best espresso martini I've ever had. The sushi downstairs is also amazing - looks like it could ger busy, so maybe best to book. Rooms are very cool and a great place to retreat to from the chaos of the area!! Highly highly recommended

We had a fantastic stay, and enjoyed the service, location and facilities. The swimming pool was clean and relaxing, the bar was intimate and the roof top bar is really worth a visit to enjoy the views. The love music added to the atmosphere without being over powering. The room was large, clean and comfortable with a large bathroom and powerful shower. The breakfast was excellent - lots of choice and great service. It didn’t disappoint in any way.
Breakfast is not bad, not many styles, but enough. It's less than 5 minutes walk from the subway station, and about 10 minutes to the city center railway station by subway. In short, I am very satisfied.

Barcelo Hamburg has a perfect location to explore the city. Nice spacious and modern room with city view. Friendly English speaking staff. Enjoyed the extensive breakfast. We made beautiful walks to Altstadt, Neustadt & St. Georg, Hafencity & Speicherstadt.
I stayed a little more than one month in April 2022 in one of the medium-sized apartments. First, it felt more like a hotel than an apartment, but the price was very good at the long-term stay rate. Not hotel prices for basically hotel service. Cleaning was every four days from arrival with some confusion related to holidays. But you just check with the staff about the schedule. The staff are very friendly, helpful and available 24/7. The room was exactly as described on the website. The major downside with the room (which is evident in website photos) is that the kitchen sink is so small as to be almost unusable. Basically the “kitchen”, to the extent there is one, is not really useful for more than periodically frying a couple eggs, which is about all that I used it for. The huge downside is that the neighborhood is very, very upscale and chic and there’s limited low-to-moderate end restaurant options. Forget about fast food. I was constantly taking the bus a half hour to the St. Georg neighborhood to eat out. Another downside was that the view of the inner courtyard from my window was bleak. It desperately needs some trees planted. There was an excellent and large gym in the basement that is basically unused by any guests. Oddly this made it undesirable for working out because of the strange feeling of loneliness working out. I would actually recommend that the hotel make an arrangement for guests with the popular gym next store and shut down the hotel gym. What else? There are many really nice parks walking distance and the hotel is easily accessible to most anywhere in Hamburg with buses or U/Bahn, S-Bahn. I would only not stay here again because I would have preferred to be in a more gritty neighborhood. By the way, the hotel was recommended by a language school where I was taking classes. If this review seems somewhat contradictory, that is ok? Perhaps the summation is that this was a good place to stay, but not a fun place to stay.
The hotel is very conveniently located next to Dammtor Station, and is also close to Alster Lake, Hamburg University, etc. This area should be one of the must-visit areas in Hamburg.
The hotel has more than 20 floors and is a very eye-catching building. I was very lucky to upgrade to a view room on the 20th floor. Every morning and evening, I can see the beautiful view of Alster Lake from the room, with white sails and a mirror-like lake surface.
The customer service manager at the hotel's front desk is very friendly and humorous.
A recommended hotel.

GGuest UserWe stayed at the Hyperion Hamburg for one night during our roadtrip through Europe. Arriving by car is very convenient, since the hotel is located close to a major road and offers garage parking with direct access to the hotel. Also, the location is great for sightseeing, as most of the city center is reachable by foot. We got a nice big corner room on one of the upper floors, with great views, comfortable beds, and lots of space for the 3 of us (2 adults and one child). The breakfast was very good, with many different options.
GGuest UserGreat location. Easy to get around and get back to the place at night. If you're a light sleeper I wouldn't recommend the shared rooms, people coming back late at night, the doors close quite loudly. My only complaint is that I received a keycard to the wrong room and walked right into a private suite.. Nobody was there thankfully and I just walked right out, but if I were staying in a private room I would hate to think that strangers could just walk into my room where all my belongings are lying around. Otherwise clean and quite a cool environment.
GGuest UserGreat value for money close to the Zoo.. even though it was perhaps not a topnotch hotel, we thought we got good value for money with spacious and clean rooms and easy access to parking (which is not a given in Hamburg)… breakfast was ok as well :-)
GGuest UserI stayed there two nights during the weekend of Hamburg's marathon and the stey was very fine. Clean room, very calm hotel (or good insonorisation) good looking decoration. Friendly staff. The location is ideal: close to many shops, easy to reach from the city center/main station and very calm street. I did not have breakfast on site, but it looked very nice for the price (eggs, different breads, pastries, fruits, yoghurt,... it had everything). The only negative thing would be that the room I had was a bit tiny -but perfect for one person. And it had no table, which made working in my room complicated. I would definitely recommend it.
GGuest UserNice location with parking nearby. I would like the bar to be open later, but it was Monday. Would be cool if there was a kiosk nearby. Because the reception didn't had enough snacks. The ATM was not working, and it was kind of hard to find one around. They spoke English so that is a big plus.
LLucyFelthouseFirst of all, the location of this hotel - opposite the main train station - was really good and super convenient. There are lots of eateries and shops nearby (many of which are in the train station concourse). The staff were friendly, though we did have issues on checking in with a member of staff who I believe was new and didn't seem to know the procedure for renting us the safe. But after he made a call to someone, we got it sorted in the end. Breakfast was a typical continental - fine, but nothing special. The hotel itself is very old-fashioned, all classical fixtures, etc, which is lovely. However this also extended to our room's door, which didn't seem to fit particularly well in its door frame and as such let in light and noise, and didn't feel terribly secure. The room itself was fine, not terribly big but enough for what we needed, and clean. The only downside was the cleaner continually letting herself in despite us having the 'do not disturb' sign on the door, and early enough in the day we were still getting ready to go out for the day! Overall, a fine place to stay. If you're just looking for somewhere clean and comfortable to sleep and shower while you're exploring the city, this will do just fine.
Although the room was exceptionally large and we had a river facing view, which was nice, that’s about all I can say to encourage you to stay here. At first I thought we’d been given a room for a disabled person as the bed was so low to the ground, but the bathroom was not suited to disabilities so it was just an exceptionally low bed, given that the average German man I’ve seen seem to be well over 6ft tall, even I am 5’7”, I found it uncomfortable to get in and out of. The wifi in our room was pretty much non existent. You know how a wifi icon is rainbow shaped, our intermittent connectivity was the little dot at the bottom of the rainbow, if I stood right at the entrance door. You have to ask to have your room cleaned and if you forgot, too bad. Our room wasn’t attended to the 3 nights we were there but I managed to get our bins emptied, once. There was a space for a fridge, but no fridge, no phone either to call reception to request room clean. The bathroom, while nice, had the toilet paper holder right in the splash zone from the shower, so everyday we had wet toilet paper. We didn’t eat at the hotel, breakfast was €25 each so we went to the street that is a 2 min walk away and has breakfast for €8. The staff were all very pleasant. All in all, there is nothing wrong with this hotel and Hamburg generally is not cheap, (we were hit with an unexpected city tax upon checkout, which we have not paid in any other German city), but I think for the price, things could have been better.
The hostel itself offers great value for money. The rooms are simple but clean and functional, which is all you need if you’re spending most of your time out and about. The staff were friendly and helpful, providing local tips and assistance whenever needed. I stayed in a private room, and though it wasn’t luxurious, it was comfortable and had everything I needed, including fast Wi-Fi. One of the best things about A&O Reeperbahn is the 24/7 reception and bar, so you never feel like you’re on a schedule. The communal areas are also a great place to meet fellow travelers, which adds to the fun, social vibe. While it can get a bit noisy due to the location, that’s to be expected in a lively area like this. Overall, if you’re looking for affordable accommodation in the heart of Hamburg, A&O Reeperbahn is a solid choice.
MM0rtenAndI was a little apprehensive after having read some of the reviews on here, but I have mostly good things to say. The hotel may be a little dated, but the rooms are nice and clean. The shower was quite tight, so be aware if you are bigger than average, and I wish there’d been a safe. My biggest point of criticism was the lack of air conditioning in the room, which was very hot. The hotel did provide fans however and the windows can be opened. The area around the hotel is a little dull, but the nearby station will take you to any part of Hamburg within minutes so it didn’t matter too much. Booked with breakfast, which was good with plenty of options.
GGuest UserApartment type, simple single room with twin beds, which can be divided into two single beds by yourself. Breakfast is a minute away on the second floor of another hotel. Breakfast is very simple, bread and sausages. You can cook, there are kitchen utensils and refrigerators, but there is no microwave, range hood, or oven. There is no elevator.
