This is a wonderful hotel located right off the shore of the beautiful Renyitan Dam. It’s only a 2 minute walk to the boardwalk where you can watch the sunrise early morning!
The hotel lobby is gorgeous and room is clean and roomy. There are loaner bikes available right at the entrance of the hotel.
The women’s spa is closed for renovations at the moment but there is a game room where family with kids can enjoy a variety of activities.
The only drawback is that the hotel is outdated probably due to low occupancy. The breakfast buffet is only available when there are tour groups staying at the hotel.
This was my second time staying here this month and I really enjoyed it.

The village is a place for leisure and vacation with pool table, sports equipment and swimming pool.
There is a parking lot in the village and parking is very convenient.
The European suite design, the bathroom and toilet are separated, and it feels more comfortable. The bed is spacious and comfortable, but the toilet is not an exempt toilet, and it feels a little weak. TV only provides digital TV, there should be room for improvement. Breakfast is acceptable in the motel shopping mode.

The equipment is a bit old, and children living in a camper are more novel. In summer, you can play in the pool to cool off the heat. The barbecue ingredients are sufficient. It is recommended to bring more abundant ingredients. There must be anti-mosquito measures. Family travel is okay as a whole.

The room cannot be compared with the city, but it is OK and clean. The location is more difficult to find, especially at night. It is best to drive to the day. The boss is very good, the service is not bad, it is still a little distance from Alishan!

The location of the homestay is near the fish market, and you can go to the market to eat fresh seafood in a 5-minute drive! The rooms are clean and tidy and the equipment is great. It is very comfortable to live in. Recommend! The owner of the homestay is very kind and willing to share any questions he asks. There is an open space next to which you can park, so you don’t have to worry about driving.

The Dragon Boat Festival holiday travel, because the car travel that stayed the night before was very big and there were two big bathtubs, the price was more favorable than this, so it was compared.
The first time I came to Shumei, the room type we lived in was simple, but the indoor lighting was bright and it felt good. But only the shower has no bathtub to take a bath ⋯
I don't know why the mobile phone signal here is very poor, and the WiFi message in the room is also very slow.
There are movies to watch on TV, and it rained heavily after check-in. It was not bad to watch two movies.

There were a lot of people in the lobby, and they were all queuing up to check in. It was not fast, and when I finally changed, they asked me to go to another line to requeue==. The people behind me were also confused, why didn't they inform me in advance? Let the guests queue up stupidly...but I have to say that the park is really big! Children can discharge as much as they want, and the power will be cut off as soon as they get in the car😴

GGuest UserThis was really the best home stay experience we ever had! The owners are super kind. Upon arrival, they warmly welcomed us in and gave us delicious tea, apple, snacks, and their good company. The room itself had amazing views over the mountains, tea plants, and sakura. The room was really big, equipped with a good shower and comfortable beds. We even got a free room upgrade and tasty breakfast with fresh fruits. Next morning we were taken on a tour over the Tea Plantation and the owner told us not only about the process but could give us information on all the other plants like coffee plants, flowers, etc. We really hope we can stay here in the future again.

GGuest UserRooms are stylish, comfortable and offers fantastic views of the tea hills. Furnishing are tasteful and hi-tech at the same time.
Breakfast and dinner are beyond delicious and leaves you wanting more.
Perfect place to unwind, relax, take a hike to see the sunrise, sunset, cloud formations, stars etc.
Highly recommend to spend 2 nights. The price point is on the higher side but trust me, it is worth it. Bonus points for the beyond adorable house cats “Mico and Orange” and mutt “Pang Pang” as well as the 2 puppies this family has just taken in.
Host is extremely helpful and easy to talk to.
PLEASE COME HERE IF YOU ARE VISITING ALISHAN.

MMelvin Ryan TanThis is probably the most established hotel in Fenqihu, when you’re on the way to Alishan, either as a pitstop to get bento lunch or as an overnight stay.
The facilities are very old and dated (I think maybe 90s renovated?), I stayed in the Japanese inspired room so it was on a tatami and low tables. There’s even a solo Japanese tub for you to soak in. All good.
I appreciate the multiple wifi names as the property is quite sparse so the wifi signal is bound to be terrible. With multiple wifi spots with the same password, it’s easy to connect and have good wifi.
I don’t like that the aircon is non-existent that there’s a fan. There’s a dehumidifier because the room is very humid from the bathroom.
I think a lot of renovations need to happen to make this place more desirable.
The 3 walking tours are amazing, the guide is so informative and helpful, she takes really good Instagram content! She only conducts the tour in mandarin so take note.

KKenThe location of this hotel is great. It is a small walking distance to the train station to catch sun rise. If you are driving to Alisan, you will need to park near the visitor center and take a shuttle bus to the hotel. You may need to note on the last bus from visitor center to hotel else you need to walk quite a distance into the hotel. There is no restaurant in the hotel so you need to settle your meals outside of the hotel.

WWenwenThank you to the store for the thoughtful upgrade. The comfortable dining environment on the top of the mountain and looking out over the valley is really great. Considering the quality of the B&B, the breakfast is very rich (some people said that the breakfast was very poor when I checked online for prices). I really feel that See people and see their wisdom!

AAndreasM- Nice owner family. It is important to know that the owner only speaks rudimentary English, her mother not at all. It is helpful to use a translator app.
- Delicious Chinese breakfast with a view of the surrounding mountains and tea fields included
- The accommodation is a bit difficult to find and not that easy to get to, as you can only access it via a narrow mountain road. However, there are enough parking spaces available.
- Beautiful quiet location in the middle of tea fields
- 10 minutes by car from Fenqihu, where there is the nearest food option (supermarket, restaurants, etc.)

✔️Making tea - there is a quick-boil pot in the room, plus - all the water in the room is mountain spring water.
✔️Nearby attractions: There are also trails, you can also watch the sunrise, Fenchihu Old Street

KkohKengLocation: excellent! It is near to the park entrance, 7-11 and restaurants (less than 5 mins walk).
Room: Small but clean. Other reviewers mentioned about sewage smell from the toilet. It is true and we suspect it is due to the wet floor (my daughter slashed water on the floor accidentally). There isn’t any smell when we keep the floor dry. There is a bathtub made of tiles but won’t suggest u have a soak in it as it is looks relatively dirty and tiles bath tub is not the easiest to clean if u want to clean thoroughly the space between tiles! Do note that there is no hot water from 11am-4pm , room heater is turned on when temp drops to 10’degrees. It gets pretty cold when it rains and hence, do bring a jacket. It was rainy days and the temp hits 16-17 degrees and lower should u wish to see the sunrise at Alishan.
Amenities: basic amenities in sachets and slippers are provided (very thin slippers).
Service: the counter staffs are not the most friendly. They are not rude and will answer your questions. They are generally helpful. The cleaning staff was more polite and friendly as we requested for dry towels (we stayed 2 nights and did not request for room cleaning but needed fresh dry towels). There is a shuttle service to drive u to the Alishan bus station to catch the bus back to chiayi. Do inform the hotel staff earlier. Otherwise u will need to walk to the bus stop , perhaps a 10-15mins walk with your luggage and I think it is a slope
Food: breakfast is at the plaza, less than 5 mins from hotel. The shop staff will dish out the dishes for u as requested. There are porridge, noodles, vegs, buns, coffee , preserved pickles/nuts etc to go with the porridge . For lunch and dinner, u can eat at the restaurants around selling Zi char eg fried rice/noodles/chicken/beef etc or hot pots. I would love to eat hotpot in the cold weather but husband is not a fan of hot pot. Personally I find the food too salty for my liking. Alternatively you can grab bento or cup noodles or bread from 7-11.
Suggestion: pack some warm clothes, prepare your own slippers/amenities if u are more particular of the quality of the products . Can bring along a water bottle for the walking trials and to refill the bottles! They have water dispensers at each floor.

If you need a clean bed and can lower one sights in terms of some things you’re right here.
Of course the value for the price is low, but don’t forget about the central location.
Check-in strange as described by others (it’s in the neighbouring hotel — that reception seems always available).
You cannot really store your luggage; it’s just put in the lobby of the other hotel, so prone to theft.
Rooms have paper thin walls. If you have bad luck you will be disturbed.

GGuest UserNever seen such a weird hotel in my life for this price. I had already low expectations because of the reviews i read. But when checking in to the room we saw how small the room was. Even the bathroom with the bathtub was like children size. There were leftover clumps of hair on the floor and the floor was partly still wet. On the pillow were also leftover hairs, which felt really disgusting.
The room has a window which you can open, but the funny thing is that it doesnt open into the outside air. It opens into a alleyway which you cant enter. They build a new wall for the rooms 2 meters away from the outside wall of the building. I dont know what happened here, but it felt really strange. The bed itself was comfortable, and the location was perfect.
We received 2 coupons for the breakfast, but we didn’t knew we had to walk to other side of town to a restaurant. Also a bit weird in my opinion, but not the biggest problem. We watched the sunset and went up by train on the mountain. And we hiked back into town to the restaurant.
Long story short, my low expectations were right and it is definitely not worth 80 euro for a night. Please do a better job. Because you are located in a touristy place doesnt mean you can ask the same amount as every hotel in the area for a shid room!
Unless you really want to see the sunset and are traveling on a budget like me. This is the cheapest option and i guess alright for 1 night. But in comparison to the price, this hotel should be ashamed of themselves!
