Location superb
Staff outstanding, and always willing to go the extra mile.
Allowed late check out for no additional fee to use the facilities, so long as we exited our room
Offered trips were excellent and value for money
A super beautiful small resort where many European and American tourists live. The hotel has complete facilities, rich breakfast, and the small travel agency and restaurant are very good, and you can stay for a day without going out. There is a car to the center of the town every half an hour. At night, looking at the night scene in the yard to see the starry sky is really amazing. The stars in the sky are super beautiful. I have never seen such a beautiful starry sky after going to dozens of countries. The most distinctive hotel on this South American trip, highly recommended!

The hotel covers a large area, but the road in Atacama is full of gravel, and this hotel is no exception. The hotel does not have a lobby boy. For those who drag the suitcase, the large area is a disaster, and the wheels of the suitcase are laborious and laborious. The family room has 5 beds, but it offers accommodation for 2 people, plus $40 for one person. Breakfast is provided, but it is later than our needs. Breakfast is required in advance and additional purchases are required. Overall average.
Fantastic hotel - lovely rooms (we had the Small Double and it was more than fine for the two of us) and all areas beautifully done.
The staff were so helpful and friendly, especially Raul, whose recommendations and advice was invaluable.
Only slight drawback was not having an on-site restaurant but there are so many good places within 5 minutes walk that it really doesn’t matter (again, really good recommendations made!)
Right in the centre of San Pedro (actually behind the church) but felt very safe and secure, and literally a couple of minutes from the shops, market, restaurants and excursion agents.
Breakfast was fine - eggs an option to the buffet; fresh OJ on request and access to coffee etc whenever needed. Towels available for hire for the excursions that involve swimming.
We stayed for 3 lovely days and would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you for looking after us so well.
The lodge is 3km outside of town and thus has a quiet setting away from the dust and traffic of San Pedro. The staff was exceptional. They gave us helpful trips for sightseeing, helped us to order a taxi when we didn’t feel like driving to town, and were always so friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is very good and there is 24h free (and very good) coffee. On top of that, the pool is super refreshing, clean and with plenty of chairs and even a fridge with cold drinks (which you have to pay for of course but the prices are super fair). Bedroom and bathroom was exceptional as well. We loved our stay at Lodge Quelana!

Outstanding
AAnonymous UserThe location was a little different based on Google Maps, so it was hard to find at first.
Clean room condition in main street location,
Friendly staff and delicious and a variety of breakfasts.
Very satisfied with the insane atmosphere!
Extended two more days :)
GGuest UserPros: -Spacious room that was impeccably clean. -Fridge in room -Friendly staff -No AC not necessary as cool during the day and sufficiently warm (with blanket provided) at night. Of note, we were there during the month of March. Cons: -Wi-fi in the reception area but no Wi-Fi in the room -Hot water was spotty. If you ran the shower long enough, you would usually get hot water...but one hates to waste water, especially in the desert. -Breakfast was lackluster and did not change from day to day (rolls, jam, butter, cereal, powdered milk, ham, cheese, one fruit). One day they ran out of food. Although, it seems that breakfasts at hotels in San Pedro are generally not great. Other: -Staff don't speak much English but if you know a little Spanish, you will be fine. -Staff very nice but reception was not always staffed and it could be a nuisance to track someone down. -Parking is outside during the day. At night, they recommend bringing the car inside the compound given the dust at night. If staff was not around, it was a pain to find someone to unlock the parking area to bring the car in/out. -There is a small pool but we only used it once for about 10 minutes as whatever chemicals they use to treat the water caused the eyes to burn. -No hairdryer or Kleenex in the room. If you anticipate needing either, bring your own. -Slightly out outside of town. Not an issue for us as we had a car. Giving it 3 stars due to the hot water issue, no wi-fi in room, and difficulty tracking down staff at times. If none of these elements are important to you, then you will be happy here.
WWin BkkThe check in was smooth. I as a non-Chilean didn't need to pay the extra taxes. It's 1.5km from centro, but that's not a big problem. I walked back and forth to centro, and I felt safe even at late night.
The room was ok. The bunk bed was sturdy. There were 3 living areas: indoor, roofed outdoor, and rooftop.
Rey Lagarto has the typical international hostel vibes and services. The major room for improvement was the wifi, which was slow and unstable. I'm not sure if this was about the geography of Atacama.
KKJI have a very comfortable rest. If you have something to hear next time, it is one of the accommodations you want to stay again. I recommend it. Thank you.
GGuest UserA hotel with average value for money. The owner doesn't speak English and can only communicate in Spanish. It's difficult to understand face-to-face even with a translator. He usually uses WhatsApp. In addition, the hotel states that it provides breakfast from 8 to 9:30. If you are traveling in the early morning, you will not be able to eat at all. It is inconvenient that the room with kitchen is not equipped with microwave. The hotel location is a 10-minute walk from the tourist commercial street.
GGuest UserLess than five minutes walk from the bus stop, the door is not big, there is no hole in the sky, very professional small hotel, clean, no smell, usually Fernando is taking care of, not English, the room is not big, everything is available, fan, there is an open-air garden at the door. It is very quiet during the day and night. It will be a little moving in the morning. It takes ten minutes to walk to the center. When you are walking, it is not easy to take a taxi. It is more important to go to the bus stop!
AAFLPros:
-Nice pool area
-Comfy bed and pillows
-Rainshower with great water pressure
-Good WiFi in the room
-Within walking distance of the main street (15 min)
-Yoga and other activities included
-Relaxing and peaceful atmosphere (except when they do barbecue/pool party on Saturdays)
Cons:
-Lack of air con/ceiling fan in the room
-More attention to detail needed (e.g: terrace bench cracked and terrace chairs/table quite tired)
-Amenities (soap, etc) could be better
-No place to put the suitcases other than the floor, and very little space for clothes
-Lack of TV could be a con for some
-Breakfast buffet could be more varied and of better quality
Overall a good stay!
JJamesThe hotel (homestay) is very close to the pedestrian street in the town and it is more convenient to be 100 meters away. This is a big advantage. There are trees and flowers in the yard, so there is no atmosphere. And the hotel provides a convenient homemade breakfast such as a toast driver, a refrigerator.
Although my room was outside the hotel at the street intersection, I could adapt. The problem is that the water heater in the bath in the room is a problem. The contact is often powered off. I have controlled my bath time within three minutes, but I have to cut off the electricity several times for a bath. The pressure is very high. After all, it is a plateau and cannot catch cold. Wifi is also a problem, slow and weak signal, very inconvenient.
GGuest UserThe inside of the room was clean and tidy. WiFi etc. were also available without problems. However, the hot water in the shower was not very warm.
The location of the hostel takes less than 10 minutes to walk from the downtown, but I felt it was good value considering the price.
