We came to Täsch, one station before Zermatt. Heard a lot abt this location and chose Hotel Elite, just walking distance from the station. The horrible things started with they asking 1 Euro for 1 franc. Isn’t that cheating. Then comes the time when we come up for breakfast and what an amazing spread. By amazing, I mean, horrible spread and most uncourteous staff. We were 11 of us and hunting for something in breakfast and asked for omelettes for 6 of us as all had not come down for breakfast by then. When the other 3 joined us and we asked for omelette, the person said “first finish the earlier omelettes and then I would give more.” Did they want 9 people to eat from 6 omelettes. Don’t we have a right to ask for one omelette each. The food timings are till 9.30am only. So, we didn’t have an option to wait beyond 9.30am as we knew the order won’t be taken later (looking at the courtesy being offered since the time we entered the hotel). When we asked for tea and tea bag, he rudely replied and took away the tea maker. This is a very insolent and impolite behaviour. And the final blow to us was no hot water for bath in a temperature of 11 degrees. I did give them a piece of my mind and informed them that whether it’s a 3 star or 5 star, we have to be courteous and the owner shud own up the responsibility for the wrong doings and rude behaviour of their staff, but in vain. This is very unbecoming of a hotel which is one of the most pleasant towns in Switzerland. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone who visits this beautiful town of Täsch.
We would not stay here again. The 1980s revisited... Pros: Big room, great view mountains (not the Matterhorn), close to train station, huge balcony, parking beneath the hotel. Nice sized bathroom. Breakfast was satisfactory. A good starting point for a trip to Zermatt, if you're not going to stay in Zermatt. There are some great walking paths near this hotel. Cons: Ugly...brown...shag...carpeting. Orange furniture. Worn linens, mattresses and pillows. Traffic noise was a problem because we had to open the windows for ventilation during this warm spell. No ice was available for our room. No in-room refrigerator. Service staff was indifferent. If you are driving and going for a quick trip to Zermatt, I recommend parking your car in Tasch and leave your big luggage in the trunk. Take your carry-on and the train to Zermatt and stay for one (maybe two) nights there to see the sights. Then take the return train to Tasch to retrieve your car. I don't recommend staying in Tasch.
The hotel is on the edge of the train station. There are three rooms, which are reasonably priced. There is a coop supermarket next to it. There is also a fast food restaurant opposite the hotel. It is open late, has many types, tastes good, and has a large amount. Our mother and daughter order one. Very full. To the town of Zermatt, you need to take a shuttle train, you can use the Swiss Pass, the train is a few minutes away, the running time is very short, and there are cars late at night, with beautiful scenery along the way. The hotel has a complimentary breakfast, which is very tasty and can be eaten more satisfactorily.
Location across from trainstation with frequent shuttle train connections to Zermatt, good Halfboard food, after ski relaxation (Sauna, steamroom, whirlpool and Gym), great comfortable room with view of Kleines Matterhorn, friendly staff, and skis left in Zermatt ski rental shop near the train station so that we never had to carry boots or skis on train. Brilliant holiday, we'll be back.
Perfect south facing location overlooking the town of Zermatt with unparalleled views of the Matterhorn. In the winter you have sunshine on the balconies up to 4 pm. For views and sunshine this definitely the best area of Zermatt. It’s only a few meters away from the official Zermatt viewpoint, which should tell you all you need to know. The service has been great and all the staff are super attentive all the way. Breakfast with local delicacies is great as well as the sauna and steam bath facilities. The taxi pick up service to the hotel from the train station makes for a very smooth arrival. The same applies when you are leaving. Zermatt is car free so you have to walk a few mins into town to go to a restaurant or visit shops but we actually enjoyed those little walks. In the winter you can ski in but you have to know exactly where to leave the piste. Once you know it it’s easy. All of the premises feel well put together and solid, good materials. We can really recommend this place!
Trip.com did not state the linen fee charges per person on their website. When I arrived I was shocked that a 4CHF per person per night has turned in a 78 CHF payment which is a huge discrepancy. However, it took me about 2 hours and I resolved this with the service reception of Alpen. There is no main reception in this lobby but the service providers were superb. The room is amazingly spacious and clean and it was an overall lovely stay thanks to the great service and comfort of the room.
We stayed at the Alpen Resort hotel in July 2023 for two weeks. The room was very spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The view of the Matterhorn from our balcony was fabulous. From start to finish, all of the staff could not do enough for us. Everyone was so friendly, professional and genuinely welcoming. There was plenty of choice at breakfast, with cold and warm options and the four course dinner each evening was delcious. The restaurant staff were always friendly and curteous. After a long day walking or biking in the truly amazing mountains of Zermatt, the spa facilities were a delight. The pool, steam room and outdoor whirlpool were wonderful and always spotlessly clean. We would defintely stay at the Alpen Report hotel again. Zermatt is a truly magical and spectacular place and this hotel is a perfect location to base yourself to enjoy all of its wonders. The location is excellent - close to the station but nicely tucked away in a quiet location but with everything you need close by. Thank you to all of the staff at the Alpen Resort hotel from Martin and Steph (York, UK)
Outstanding hotel in Zermatt! Located close to the train station and Gornergrat railway, so very convenient for skiing. We stayed in the basement where we were pleasantly surprised by the spacious room. There was full easy access to the wonderful spa, with a large, heated pool, jacuzzi, onsen, sauna, steam room, and relaxation rooms. Breakfast was excellent, and there was a nice complimentary tea service in the lobby in the afternoon. The airline lost our ski bag, and Carla at the front desk was the best. She made at least a dozen phone calls to the courier service and local taxi company to help locate our skis. Would definitely give the highest recommendation for this hotel.
The room is very big and has a terrace. There is breakfast🍳delicious🤤
It feels very comfortable and the bathroom 🛀 is so big
Although the location of the room cannot see the Matterhorn, the snow view is pretty good👍🏻
There are supermarkets nearby and it only takes 3-5 minutes to walk🚶
It only takes 5 minutes to walk to the city center and the train station🚄
Environmental hygiene, worth choosing👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This hotel is an easy 5 minute walk to the train station. Check-in was welcoming and the room was fine. It is spacious enough with plenty of closet space. Comfortable bed, good shower and bathroom amenities. We liked having a little fridge and Nespresso type coffee maker. Breakfast was excellent with many hot and cold options. I ate much too much! In the afternoon they offer coffee and homemade cake in the lobby. An English language chanel on the room TV would have been nice. The hotel has a pool and a sauna which we did not have a chance to use.
