We came here for 4 nights with an ebay voucher and unlike the other hotel we stayed at in Gstaad, were made to feel like 2nd class citizens. First they forgot to clean our room, then 2 mornings we had to wait for the table to be laid for breakfast and finally, there was a function on in the usual restauarant and we had to ask where we were to eat and in the other restaurant, we had to eat on bar stools. Food was very uneven, some things were excellent like the salads and pates, others were so so, for instance we had brown sauce with chicken, pork and beef. The same brown sauce. Wine was also pricey, having paid 25 or 30 francs for a bottle of swiss wine in other places we were suprised at 40 for a half bottle of assemblage, which wasn't even labelled which grapes had been used. All in all, sad as we shall certainly return to the area as our daughter works here (and had eaten with us every evening) but shall look for a friendlier place to stay.

The second stay, cost-effective, want to save trouble in the hotel downstairs restaurant to eat, after eating, found that the local price is more expensive hotel, two people ate more than 1,000 yuan, but the taste and environment is indeed good.

We were a big group of friends staying at Hamilton Lodge, which offered us the most perfect stay at beautiful Belalp. The location is the best, close to the chair lift, school and equipment rental shop. The rooms offer a cousy stay with a great view from the balcony. The restaurant service was impecable, delicious food and great service, which always adapeted to changes in schedule for such a big group like ours ( around 20p). The cosy living room with a fireplace and a piano alowded us to enjoy a great evening, while playing and singing together. The Spa offered more than expected, between sauna and several outdoor pools. The hostes are incredible people and will always try to make your stay the best possibile ever! We will come back as a group next year and certainly some of us with family or even for a romantic getaway! PS: All necessary measure against Covid were taken into account at our arrival and stay.

It is a perfect hotel with the description of ”70s hotel like this”. The small elevator is full of retro feeling with the door manually. I think the water circulation is updated several times, but the old feeling is undeniable. It is not an auto lock, but you don't have to leave the key when you go out. It may vary depending on the room, but my room did not have a refrigerator or safety box. I think the cleaning is firm. Breakfast is naive but substantial. There are a lot of bread and jam, and there are melon with skin. It seems to be a family management or close to it, and there are not always people at the front desk. Let's have time. Instead, the station is in front of the hotel. It is not suitable for people who like the glittering facilities, but hospitality is outstanding and can be recommended.

Stayed at Hotel Stockalperhof for 4 nights as part of the Classic Glacier Express Tour (Great Rail Journeys). The hotel is generally unmanned after you receive your key, with the exception of the breakfast service. Rooms across 5 floors with even numbered rooms benefiting from a small balcony that looks on to the mountains. Coffee (pod) machine provided but only 2 pods and after this you have to pay for your own (Coop is 100m away) so you end up eating and drinking out a lot of the time. The bathroom suffers from the shower head being positioned too low to be of any use, with a hose that is too short in many rooms. This does need looked at by the management. The hotel is very well positioned in Brig with a number of restaurants on the doorstep and only a 350m walk from the train station. I personally would return without a second thought; it is the shower that stops this being a '5' review.
