Find the Cheap Basel Hotels

We only spent one night in Basel but thoroughly enjoyed it. This hotel helped make for a great stay. Traveling with five has had us mostly staying in Airbnb’s and a hotel is never as spacious. But we fit adequately in one of their rooms. The staff spoke perfect English and were incredibly helpful and kind. It was an easy 10-15 min walk to the Rhine for a swim on a hot afternoon and right across from one of the train stations - which also just happened to be near where we rented a car for the next leg of our journey. Very convenient!

We had a two day stay at this hotel on the way to Paris. This is a charming hotel with a historic facade but modern and renovated interior. We had the Queen room and whilst only 20 sq mtrs felt very spacious. Location is prefect for those with luggage and arriving by train as the station is across the road. We had a lovely view of the station and no noise could be heard with the windows closed. We often opened the windows to soak up the atmosphere of the trams and buskers and the hustle and bustle of the station. The old town is not far away and easily walkable but the hotel provides free public transport cards which makes it even easier to visit the city and surrounds. Some lovely old buildings and a marketplace to visit. We did not have breakfast at this hotel but there is a large supermarket next door where drinks, food, bakery items can be purchased. The bar/ restaurant downstairs has inside and outside seating with the outside area great for watching people and the station happenings. If we return this would be our hotel of choice. Switzerland is a very expensive country so expect to pay a lot more for drink and food than you do at home. A block away is Markthalle an upmarket food court with cuisines from all over the world. We ate here both nights as the food was so good.

The hotel is in small Basel, although it is not the old city, but not far away, there is a tram out, free Basel card, half price museum, free car, very convenient, the room is very new, comfortable, although the Chinese service is not, but it does not affect the communication, go out is the convention center, That is to say, give away sleep

We had a deluxe room to the patio (lounge indoor) located. It was very quiet and beautifully equipped. Elktr. Jalousie, silent air conditioning, silent refrigerator with a wide range of drinks and snack filling. A huge comfortable shower in a bright, clean bathroom from glass to the high ceiling. ( With a white, airy light corner, which can be attracted to you, you could be concerned about more discretion. The whole hotel is beautiful and modernly furnished. Coffee is available in the rooms and in the foyer by Nespresso machines. The staff in the whole house is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was extensive with a lot of choice. For the selection there were delicious filter coffee and Nespresso on the machine.

Really outstanding hotel. Old world with modern updates that do not detract from the atmosphere. The beds are great and the bathrooms spacious. We did not dine in the Michelin Star restaurant but will on the next visit. The bar is wonderful for drinks as the room is perfect. The only issue is the ”lobby” is only for drinking after 4 pm and there is no where else to sit on the main floor. However, there is a library on the second floor that is delightful to sit in and read. This hotel has spoiled me for chain hotels.

Great rooms and good possibility as a bridge in the search of a apartment, was there for two months. But one must be aware that this is a party place and the rooms in the EC get the noise full off and the staff doesn't care (only at a party on a Saturday, after 22:00, a room was offered in the upper floors and that After concerts in the EC took place throughout the afternoon, the other weekends were to look at you. Therefore, a room is trying to get in the upper floors, then there may be a window to open.

The design, equipment and service standards are excellent. Our five night stay was only marred because we had opted to stay on a Saturday night. The hotel's website code of 'weekend vibes' and 'pulse of the city' had not prepared us to be kept awake (even with the thoughtfully provided ear plugs and sound cancelling triple glazing in the room) until 4am on Sunday by the pounding noise of the neighbouring bars and night clubs. From other guests we found out it had been the same on Friday night into Saturday morning too! The bass beats were so deep the room shook from time to time and the incessant noise reaching 98 decibels at its peak, prevented sleep until the very early hours of the following day. Whilst the ambiance, breakfast offering (although a little pricey as an add-on) and general levels of comfort were very high DO NOT stay there on Friday or Saturday night unless you expect to be up and about, enjoying the city's nightlife, until the very early hours of the following morning. Sunday to Wednesday nights were comparatively very quiet indeed with the sound proofing of the multiple glazed windows doing its job perfectly against the general hub-hub of a busy street filled with restaurants whose customers were dining outside. The hotel really should issue a specific warning about external noise levels on Friday & Saturday nights.

The boxes in the bedroom should be renewed.

Just next to the train station, the room is very big, the breakfast is not bad, this time the order is early, the price is very suitable, if the price is considered, it is very good, and three people are allowed to stay, in Switzerland is simply the ceiling of the price.

I stayed at this excellent hotel for three days. The hotel is close to the central station, and the old town can be reached in no time. I received a very hospitable welcome: without having asked for it, I got a upgrade of the room I had booked. The price-quality ratio is good. With the guest card public transport is free and museums are half price. The room was located on the garden side (a room at the back is recommended because there is a busy traffic road at the front). The room was quiet, spacious, clean, functional (hall, bathroom and bedroom), tastefully decorated and equipped with all the comforts a customer could wish for: even slippers and bathrobes were available. I immediately felt at home. In warm times it is nice to relax in the nice garden, which is located next to the spacious breakfast room. The breakfast is very good, varied and plentiful, and therefore more pricey than usual.
