On the first day of the Canadian self-driving tour, I was afraid to drive to Jasper too late, so I chose this place. It takes two hours to drive to Jasper from here. There is a small park next to it for a walk.
We very much enjoyed our stay at this Super 8. The rooms were lovely and well appointed. The management and staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very quiet and the continental breakfast was adequate and there were lots to choose from. The ice machine and laundry room are nice and clean but there was an issue with the entrance to the room. Upon entering, a person doesn't see the three steps leading into the room. I fell but luckily didn't hurt myself. I reported this to the manager and he was very prompt in providing a solution of a 'caution' sign to be placed at the door. I would highly recommend this motel in Valemount. It will be our 'go to' accomodation choice the next time we visit.

It was quite expensive ($178) for a very standard 1 queen bed 2 star rated hotel room. Although clean it smelled like a dog had been in the room previously.
I arrived home yesterday from a celebration of life for my mother and a burial service for both my parents. I had booked my room on the internet in a hurry as I was busy working two provinces away and was aware that pipeline construction was making it difficult to secure rooms in my hometown. Firstly, on checkin I asked the young lady at the front desk how they could get away with charging 28.75 % taxes and fees over and above the room rate. She explained to me that I booked through a third party therefore the property had no control over my charges. Fair enough. Note to self, pay more attention when booking rooms in the future. My wife and I go up to the room with our luggage and much to our surprise there are holes in the wall from something being removed. There are patches of white paint on the wall. There is nowhere to put our luggage except the floor as there is not even the standard fold out suitcase stand. There is also no closet and not even a coat hook on the wall to hang a dress shirt, dress pants or a dress! I complained first to a young lady at the from desk and then again to a man who was one of the managers. The management team couldn’t even see fit to change our room for us. Saturday morning we got together with family and went back to the room to change for the funeral and they couldn’t even be bothered to clean the room for us. The white patch on the wall was where the closet used to be screwed to the wall. All other rooms had closets except ours. I can deal with slightly older hotels/ motels, but I will never spend another penny at this motel and would highly recommend that others don’t stay in this facility either. There attitude towards their customers once the fee is payed is that they could care less whether you are happy with the level of service or not. I will only bury my folks once and my experience with this motel effected my experience negatively.
Road was closed due to car accident, so we stayed at this motel. Guy at front desk was very friendly and let us in early. We had a room on 2nd floor and it was very good. Rustic decor with renovated bathroom. Beds were more comfortable in this motel than expensive hotels in Calgary. WiFi was a little weak.
One night stop over on our way to Jasper from Kamloops. I was unsure of what to expect as I had never been to the area before. The hotel was new, very clean and in a great location (short walk to main shopping area and restaurants). There are laundry facilities provided on the ground floor and breakfast was also included. We booked a king suite (room 326) which was located at the back of the property, which gave some nice views over the mountains. Even though the hotel is on the main road we didnt have an issue with any noise. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend staying here.
