Returning from Vancouver to Vancouver, I planned to stay at kamloops because the snowy night road was too unsafe and I found this hotel in Ctrip. The accident is that the hotel is really good value for money, giving us a very good experience. The room in the twin room is oversized and the beds are king size, which is a bit of a surprise.
We used to love staying at this hotel but our stay this summer was somewhat disappointing. Felt like everything is sliding down a bit: general property upkeep, housekeeping quality, room interior condition, service quality - all is noticeably worse than it used to be even two years ago. Is the pandemic to blame for it, I don't know, seems to be the common excuse nowadays. Hopefully, management reads these reviews, as there are some really easy things to fix. Shower - water pressure was so low, it was barely trickling by the time water reaches your bottom (pardon the detail). A better higher-volume shower head is desperately needed after a hot day. Also, add a handheld shower to the stalls. Come on, guys. How can someone wash themselves in a 3x3 stall without a handheld shower? This is not an expensive upgrade. Housekeeping was definitely not up to snuff. Our room kitchenette was dirty by the time we checked in at 5pm; they cleaned it next day. Two days out of our 7-night stay they just did not clean the room. ”We are short-staffed, sorry”. That's it. Out of other 5 days, there was something missed pretty much every time: one day towels weren't changed. Another - no soap was left. Only one bed out of two was made the other day (seriously). Nothing tragic by any stretch, just really sloppy stuff. This is not a cheap motel. Pool area - there were no pool towels by 5 pm every day we stayed there. We would still rate this hotel 3-stars, because we love this place and want to come here again. But some service improvements are definitely needed.
My second time at this property. Awesome front desk service. The room was well appointed and had everything needed. The front desk clerk was knowledgeable on recommending places to eat nearby. The continental breakfast was just awesome! Many choices and variety. Best offering during my trip.
Stayed here halfway to and from Banff. It was clean and there were not many breakfast varieties. You can make your own waffles. The hotel is relatively close to the railway tracks, and you can hear the sound of the train passing by, but it did not affect sleep.
We stayed for two nights in an obviously new Hotel--but who cares about new when there is ZERO regard for Customer service. We both have Titanium Status with Marriott and so I asked if there was any breakfast offered for Elite members. The Check-in Agent says ”there's Breakfast right over there--doesn't matter who you are” And jerked his thumb over his shoulder. I asked if we could get an upgraded room--He says ”it's the long weekend--and looked at me like I had just fell off the Turnip truck. I then asked if we could get a late check out because of my arm burns it takes a while to dress them each day. He says ”what time?' 2:00 pm please No I can only do 1:00pm-It's the long weekend” I said yes but the long weekend will be over when we checkout”. He says ”that's all I can do”. Ok then . When we got to our room there was no water bottles and the outside temp at that time was 36',so I went down and asked a different Agent if we could have a couple bottles of water ,in his defence he was just about to point over and say yes when a different Agent looked over his shoulder and said ”Check and see if they took the 1000 points” He then says ”you took the 1000 points so you have to pay for water” I said really? REALLY? And said no thanks I'll drive downtown and buy my @#$%& water. These people, starting with the Manager should drive one hour back to Kamloops and take a lesson in CUSTOMER SERVICE from the DELTA Hotel there. We had just spent the previous night there and the difference is in my review of that hotel. We like everybody who eventually gains ELITE Status earned it by spending our money but mark my words it will not be at this hotel. And please do not reply with your standard form letter. i don't want to read it. Instead--train your Staff.

I arrived at the hotel at 3 am and called the hotel door. The front desk is like an Indian and Pakistani. The facilities are old, but they are relatively clean. Breakfast is rarely taken by itself.
Originally I looked forward to writing this review thinking I had found a great little hotel with big clean rooms, friendly staff and an even better price but I was very wrong. Check in went smooth the woman was friendly and answered all my questions only thing I want to mention is we were told absolutely no cooking in the room or we would be charged and there was a $100 deposit taken. We were only given one physical key instead of cards but no big deal. As a friend unloaded the vehicle with us a staff member came out very concerned there was a third guest that had not been charged for. After assuring her he was only helping unload the bags she returned to the office. Once in the room (102) we were pleasantly surprised to see the size of it however the layout was a little odd. The bathroom was positioned off the back bedroom so you had to pass by the bed to use which could be inconvenient had someone been trying to sleep. While there was plenty of open space in the rooms the table could have been a little larger but it did what it needed to. It had the usual amenities like microwave, coffee pot and a full size fridge which was nice. The heat in the room was uncontrollable and extremely high, we closed off the floor registers and opened up the back windows which made it tolerable. The only complaint to say about the room was the lack of a bedroom door, the privacy would be nice and also a bathroom fan is generally good. Highway noise was less noticeable than expected and the beds were decent so we both slept well. Now next morning I went over to front desk at about 10am and informed the woman that we would like to extend one night and would be over to pay for the extra night, she insisted it had to be paid by 11:30am. At 11:26am (Telus cell phone time) a staff member began banging on the door raising his voice telling us to get out of the room. We were very confused as we had just got shoes on to go pay for the extra night. Once the door opened up it was clear we were not going to be paying another night. We tried our best to explain we were walking to the office but the staff did not want to hear it or care. Repeatedly we were told to get out of the room, even as we showed cash in hand to cover the room charge and apologized for cutting it down to the last minute. Finally we couldn’t take it any longer and closed the door (11:31am) thinking maybe someone else who worked there would come and correct this staff members behavior but unfortunately that didn’t happen. We sat confused and wondering how things turned this way so quickly and decided to offer one last time to pay for the extra night, we even pointed out that it would be quicker to pay the extra than it would be to pack up the room but they wanted nothing to do with us. We packed up as quickly as possible and left the room in great condition with no damage, no big mess and nothing missing. We then went to the front desk to ask for the $100 deposit to be returned that was taken off a debit
