We just needed a place to sleep on our drive home and we stayed in tiny room 17. It was just what we needed! It is an older place, but the rooms are clean, thoughtful and simple, with a cute little porch. The owners were so kind, accommodating our unexpected late check in, and warning us about the many, many elk on the road at night. What a fun surprise to have breakfast made for us in the morning (waffles with fruit!). The part that blew my socks off was when the owner pulled out gluten free waffles and a gluten free toaster for me to use! I felt so very welcomed at this lodge and will come back. This was a better experience than most of my recent chain hotel experiences and it is always awesome to support local small businesses!

This hotel is located in the town of radium. The visual inspection should be the best in the town. The environment and supporting facilities are quite complete. The parking pool, gym, self-service laundry and meeting rooms are all available. The front desk is very friendly. The entrance is self-service. Coffee and boiling water, but there is no water dispenser in the room. The hotel is connected to a restaurant next door, available for breakfast and dinner, and the price is ok. It takes about one and a half hours to drive to Banff and three hours to Calgary. If you need to buy something in the city and buy it in advance, it will be very troublesome. The town supermarket can buy very limited. In addition, the hotel is next to the gas station, very convenient.
Great apartment (or condo, or villa, or whatever you call it). Roomy, peaceful, beautiful view, comfortably furnished. Nicer than the apartment I live in at home. Fair price, well managed, convenient to the village. Slept well. I would go again, happily.

Slept very well at this tastefully renovated family owned motel just off the main road in Radium Hot Springs - which is often hard to do during a major heat wave. The AC did its job and the bed was very comfortable. There was a large screen television (squeezed into one corner) and the wifi worked just fine. A light breakfast was provided in a room above the reception area. It was very much a DIY affair, but we were grateful because there was a long line at the nearby coffee shop. The Inn has a small BBQ area out front with shaded seating. It is biker friendly motel. There are stairs leading to most of the rooms - and I didn't see a ramp option. We like to support locally run businesses and, if you are of that persuasion, I would recommend this place. I believe they were totally full the night we were there.
Disappointing stay. We have stayed here many times in the past but sadly this motel is no longer the friendly, clean, place to stay in Radium. The courtyard has always been our favorite place to hang out and we were thankful that it was still there. It's not as clean or as well manicured, but outside sitting is always appreciated. The room upstairs was average and the shower looked to be new so that was nice. The carpet outside on the second level was a tripping hazard and needs to be fixed or replaced before someone gets hurt. The check in clerk was efficient and nice and forwarded my query about why there is a difference in direct booking rates to the manager. Unfortunately, dealing with the assistant manager upon check out was frustrating. I asked the simple question of 'why they charge more if you direct book over the phone versus on-line.' The Assistant managers response surprised me when she stated that 'if you book on-line you do all the work but if you book over the phone, we have to do all the work and take your information'. A few hours later I get an email from the manager blaming me for accepting the rate (yup I did) stating that ” We are all too busy to answer all the phone calls that we get everyday. Please don't get it wrong. It is not we don't want to talk to the customers, it is just we are so busy.” He continues with ”My assistant manager was bewildered early this morning, so she gave you the worst example .It sounded like you misunderstood what she said.” I may have misunderstood what they said but I will no longer return or recommend this hotel to travelers.

Excellent
The Gateway is a charming two story motel with an abundance of character in part due to the chalet styling, abundant flowering plants, outside seating and fire pit. The rooms have comfortable beds, quality linens and towels (including towels to take to the hot springs) and lovely soaps in the bathroom. A light breakfast is included off site at their adorable retro cafe/ ice cream shop. The staff is accommodating and very friendly. If you cannot do stairs, be aware that there is no elevator. It's an easy walk to the town's stores, restaurants and visitor center. If you're lucky, you might catch the big horn sheep as they stroll through town!

LLyssaGThe Alpen Motel was very clean and well located between Radium Hot Springs Village and the hot springs themselves. The Sinclair canyon is a beautiful sight a short walk up the hill. The room was small, but had everything needed including AC for the uncharacteristically hot weather. The whole experience was very hands off, with the office being at the Apple Tree Inn across the street.
Unfortunately housekeeping did not come while we were out, so we did not have refreshed coffee for the second morning. The power also went out twice (night and then again in the morning) and there was no backup power source. This is of course no fault of the hotel’s, but it would have been nice to have an emergency light source in the room.
