The location is on the edge of the port, and there is a COWS ice cream shop 10 meters from the east gate. The clerk is professional. Breakfast is not included, it is a la carte system, but the price is actually acceptable between 17-24 Canadian dollars. The facilities include a swimming pool and a gym. The gym is very large. In the swimming pool, the old white man and the old lady are doing extravagant things, which is also drunk. The last hour of the swimming pool is adult only time, but there are still children in it after the time has passed. The security staff helped clean up in time. very good.

Hotel Halifax is the best hotel that I lived so far. Rooms are very clean and also service are way above my expectations. The only key point is the restaurant is pretty good. The two most memorable person (s) that I meet so far. First one is a nice young lady. Her name is Leah. She’s super nice and welcoming. She is very outgoing; professional and hardworking. She also have a very nice smile to brighten people’s day. Her wonderful smile is like a shining diamond. The most memorable thing I remember she did is she showed me a detailed map and make sure I know where to go. She also explained to me in detail about how to access the hotel. A big thank you for Leah’s wonderful professional service and always with a great nice smile. Leah is also very very polite too.Another person that I remembered is a gentleman named Nir. He is very helpful and polite. Overall. Every staff at the Hotel Halifax are very polite and helpful. Including the restaurant ones. Make sure if you want to live in this hotel. Look for either Leah or Nir to do your check in process. They will make you feel comfortable as you are in your own home. Big thank you to every staff at the hotel Halifax. And an extremely big big big shout out to Leah and Nir. They are most thoughtful person. I feel so appreciate for both Leah and Nir. P.S: Leah is also a very warm-hearted person that I meet. Definitely will come back for Leah and Nir only. 10/10 or 100/100.

Finally Halifax has an outstanding hotel which stands up to all the rest. After reading the reviews of Muir Hotel I was excited to give it a try on a recent business trip. It did not disappoint, and in my opinion is a destination in itself. The people working there are smart and kind, the accommodations comfortable and welcoming, and the location first rate. I also enjoyed the fitness facility and restaurant, five stars to all. It is more expensive than the local competition, and worth every penny.

Our trip from the moment we arrived was perfect. I’ve never seen a whole hotel’s staff so friendly! The room is beautifully done, we had an amazing view of Citadel Hill, very comfy bed, in-room Nespresso, plush towels - an absolute treat. We had a fantastic meal at Chopped too. We loved it so much we’ve cancelled our upcoming reservation at a nearby hotel for March Break and are returning to the Sutton Place.

I was very satisfied with the double bed for the first time, but this time the single bed was shocked. The toilet is half as big as last time. The soundproofing is also poor, and it doesn't feel like the same hotel as before. Maybe the top floor hasn't been renovated yet. This time the room doesn't deserve 800 RMB at all

This hotel was affordable, and it was about a ten (10) to fifteen (15) minute drive to get into Downtown Halifax. This hotel was also just under one (1) hour of a drive to arrive at Peggy’s Cove. Highway-102 and Highway-103 were very close by to this hotel. Many restaurants were located close by to this hotel. This hotel possessed a large parking lot. The staff members were friendly, helpful, and very diverse. There was free wifi at this hotel. There was a pool at this hotel, and I did some laps in it. This pool was a tad bit chilly, and much of the pool was very shallow. Unfortunately, the gym was closed due to some renovations. I was told that there was going to be no room service, but my room was actually serviced by the staff. My room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable. My room had a desk, several chairs, a television, heat, and air-conditioning. The shower had plenty of hot water. I had some loud guests next to me during my initial night at this hotel, so I cranked up the air-conditioning to overcome their commotion. This hotel did allow guests to borrow movies and boardgames, but I did not view or use any of them. The breakfast had good juices, water, English muffins, toasts, bagels, waffles, pancakes, bananas, and apples. I would have preferred some breakfast pastries, as well, like muffins. Perhaps, this hotel should have a cold water machine in the lobby right where the machines for the coffee and the tea are located.

GGuest UserFriendly staff, excellent customer service. Stayed on 2 separate nights and rooms were clean and comfortable. Free breakfast was a bonus - would recommend the breakfast sandwiches. The hotel also offered nice touches like complimentary tea and coffee available 24/7 in the lobby and snacks for purchase. Parking was also very convenient.

GGuest UserWould rate the front desk staff a 8 out of 10 due to the lack of concern about one of the staff. Housekeeping very friendly and helpful and cleaned up when we only ask that our garbage been taken out. Room was very comfortable When the phone wasn't working one of the young front desk staff came up and took immediate charge and fixed the problem. We were looking forward to using the ”hot tub” but who ever is responsible for the hotel's web site should delete the hot tub picture s it hasn't been there, per front desk staff, at least 10 years. The fitness room only has 2 out of 4 of the stationary and Eliptical bike working. Gave up after mentioning it to the front desk staff on two occasions. Had a nice washroom with safety bars, but would suggest bringing a safety mat and there were no safety *****s in the tub. Surprisingly I found out the hotel did not have a liquor licemce so I had to go to another hotel for some ”brown pops' on New Year's eve.

GGuest UserSo up front I’m going to say, we got a great day-before deal through Expedia- so I’m not sure what the cost would have been if we’d booked directly through the hotel. I’m shocked this hotel only has a 3.5 star rating. It’s newly renovated with modern design. The lobby is very impressive and the restaurant is lovely. Our room was very nice with trendy lighting options, a huge tv, and modern walk in shower. The bed was huge and very comfortable. Apparently rooms like ours on the upper floors are ‘platinum’ and get free appetizers and complimentary breakfast- which was a really great buffet. Nice surprise for me! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Pool is closed for repairs, but we hadn’t planned to use it. Only negative point for me is that parking is a bit pricey, but I guess this is typical of city hotels? I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Within walking distance of the Citadel and many restaurants.

GGuest UserThe room size is moderate, two big beds can sleep four people. The bed is more comfortable. Hotel parking is free and tight. There are large supermarkets and fast food nearby in four minutes. Go to the city center for about 13-15 minutes. Breakfast is a simple American breakfast at 10 o'clock.

GGuest User🚗 Transportation: The most speechless, the hotel shuttle bus to the airport is free. But after the driver sent us to the airport, he said a lot of things that he didn't understand and asked us for ten dollars (there were three of us in the car). We gave it to him. Later, please ask the customer service to help the hotel to verify that the pick-up and drop-off car is really free. Collection of money is the driver's personal behavior. Remind everyone that the hotel-related services can be bound to the room, the cash receipt is very problematic, don't be almost fooled like me. Trip.com yyds 🧹 Hygiene: The room hygiene is not bad, that is, the toiletries of the Garden Inn in Hafa during the epidemic is still the big bottle stuck on the wall. The Garden Inn I stayed in Calgary, Ottawa is not. 🍃 Environment: I am really speechless, living on the first floor, a large light outside the window is shooting at the window of the room, and the curtains are still bright. There is no hair dryer in the room. I asked my friend about the room. I can find the front desk. The front desk also asked me repeatedly to confirm that there is no room 😅. Facilities: The lobby is better than the holiday inn next door. The lobby of the holiday inn is very very fast and hotel wind. The hotel air conditioning is noisy and not cool. Overall this garden inn is not as good as the other garden inn.

GGuest UserPositives: - Convenient location to the Halifax Citadel and the harbor, 2-3 blocks each way. - Good hot water - The room itself is old with limited electrical outlet, but the hotel installed extension cords and additional electrical outlet bases on the nightstand and on the desk to make charging easy and convenient. - The room was also dark due to its original design and age of the building, but the hotel brought in more lights and evenly spread-out the room to ensure no dark area/spot, which I appreciate. Negatives: - Hairs found on top of toilet and floors of the bathroom, lots of short hairs, disgusting - Watermarks on the coffee table and nightstand - Many pin holes on the walls and wall papers - When raising the dirty bathroom issues to the hotel, they sent an inexperienced person, Jared, over to help but the issues did not get resolved and made false accusations about me being rude to him when I was speaking at my normal voice and sharing cleanliness issues. - Toilet dripping all night - Booked for VIP package but did not get VIP service in both room quality and condition as well as staff attitude (particular from Jared) other than waiving the self-parking fee. - When speaking with the hotel manager about the issues after Jared's inability to solve it, the hotel manager plain outright told me over the phone that he did not care how I felt and was not willing to help solve the situation, and sided with his employee, Jared, who had negative attitude and accused me of being rude to his employees. And deflating the real issues, which is disgusting and unclean floors with many hairs. And made suggestions on using towels to ”cover up” all unclean hairs and dirty floors in the bathroom. - The hotel did not own up its own responsibility when dropping the ball on cleanliness and got defensive, worse yet, turned around falsely blaming me for being rude and treating hotel employees badly when it's them who started negative attitudes. Other: - Check in staff, Stella, was efficient but came across as impatient because she kept on cutting me off before I finished speaking. - Olga, the second check-in staff, was more cordial - There is no valet parking. The closet self-parking is across the street, no parking right underneath. In other words, if you sign up self-parking with the hotel, they will send you to a large parking garage across the street, and the hotel will provide you with an instruction slip on how to find it and find your way back to the hotel lobby. The parking garage entrance is on Albemarle St. If you follow hotel's instruction slip carefully, you should find your way back without issues. Always remember where you park. Or just ask people around. The walk from where you park to the hotel lobby is at least 10 minutes assuming you don't get lost. You would cross a big indoor food court and a walkway and escalates before getting back to the hotel lobby. The hotel shares parking structure with Hotel Halifax across the street. - No breakf

It is what it is. A tiny little room for cheap. Parking is on the street. If you’re just looking for a place to sleep, then wake up and leave, then it isn’t bad. Staff was friendly and helpful. By no means fancy but a cheap bed for the night. Probably not for light sleepers as you can hear everything out in the hall.
