Find the Cheap Ganges Harbour Hotels

Free parking, breakfast, good location. It is best to book a sea view room.

I love Salt Spring Island, and on many trips there I've had such wonderful experiences with all the lodgings I've had the pleasure to stay at. However, the last trip included the WORST experience of all my travels. We booked two nights at this property based on the description posted. When we arrived, the room did not match the description, and when we questioned the owner about it, her defensive insistence ended with her telling us to get off the property. She cancelled the reservation on her end, yet charged my friend who had made the reservation two withdrawals of 500CAD (=1000 CAD). Note that she does not accept credit cards for payment (as per her website), yet she took this money electronically anyway. Since that awful event, we have spent over a week trying to get the charges reversed. We documented the mismatch between the room and its description with photos, but the owner changed the listing on the website so that her deception would not be detected. (She has since reposted the misleading description, so CAVEAT EMPTOR). Beyond the deceptive business practices, I have to say that this property is not in the spirit of Salt Spring Island. The garden around the house looked like a construction site, and the room we saw had a décor that I can only describe as Russian nouveau riche c. 1999. NOT the charming, quaint, or even ”weird” Salt Spring Island that I know and love. If you want a real island experience, avoid this place like the plague and go elsewhere.

I have stayed at the best hotel, sleeping with the sea, watching the seagulls sleeping by the water, cooking and swimming. Just in time for a heavy snowfall, a snowman by the window, the child is very happy. On the edge is the pier, the real Fisherman's Wharf. Quiet, beautiful and convenient, be sure to come back. (Hurry up for half a year, photos just found in the computer) There are convenience stores, bakeries, restaurants, bars, and supermarkets for 8 minutes.

Beautiful views and comfortable bed. Private patio or balcony with each room. An item of ours went missing in the room only to turn up later in our trip, buried in our luggage. The management was gracious, responsive and helpful. The front desk is closed quite a bit but there is a posted number to call and someone comes quickly.

The room is good, the people are very good, there are a lot of food around, and it is very comfortable and quiet.

Duncan has little competition and it shows. This is the nicer place in town but it fails to compare if you’ve stayed in any other hotels. The breakfast is adequate but is lacking the usual things like pancakes, sausage, baked food variety. Some of their doors in the rooms don’t fit so there’s gaps where you can see into the hallway. The noise travels well and the building itself seems to have plumbing or hvac noise from which is constant. It’s fine for a quick business stay and it’s clean. The restaurant also has food food.
